Talking with… Anthony Bennett
2013-07-18I was alongside a couple of local Vegas television crews as they chatted up Anthony Bennett on Tuesday afternoon at Summer League.
A lot of the local questions tilt toward UNLV, but there’s a great one where Bennett describes walking up to the podium on draft night and what David Stern said to him. I come in at 5:07 and hit a home run (of course).
Bennett seems like a nice, humble guy who really wants to get back on the court and play. That is also something that I want.
Thanks to Varsity Tape’s Adam Dew for the fine camera work.
Hot sauce even if T does have some inside source, I honestly dont want to hear it, ignorance is bliss in this situation, if he does want to leave I hope we pull a Nuggets Carmelo situation, and get something back in return at least, but still would rather just be ignorant of the situation
The chad ford comment was a joke Hot sauce. We could always try and bring back dajuan wagner too if kyrie leaves.
Hm well if Kyrie leaves, maybe we can get Baron Davis back. Looks like he wants to come back. How does that sound? Anyone? Yeah it’s another season in the lottery then and we don’t even get a pick. Doubt he comes here though.
In defense of T, I think he is saying something different. He is saying that he personally knows someone in the organization and that person directly communicates with him. He is not reading stuff on the internet and then pretending he has “sources” – i.e. the Chad Ford example given above. He has an actual source in the organization.
Is that right T? If so, what you say has some value. If not, then I agree with others – you are just spreading rumors.
Yes, please. Let’s not spend the rest of the off season and the next year talking about this . . . when there are a good number of positive and exciting things to talk about here.
If, in the 1% chance this is true – we’ll trade him for a Kyrie look-alike.
Let’s stay fired up and off this ridiculous rumor mill.
Honestly lets not start the Kyrie debate. I really don’t want to spend the next three years fretting over the decision, so T, Cram your sources. If Kyrie doesn’t ever want to share the ball more or play defense, then by all means, let someone else sign him to a max extension.
So what you are saying is that this “inside source” told you all about karasev and the interest that the cavs had in him? Well I was just reading some stuff from my source too, a couple months before the draft and he was all over how much interest they had and how they were willing to trade up, if need be, to get him. Any wild guesses who my source is? The source is Chad Ford. No one knows what CG will do, it is what he lives off of. He loves to think that he is smartest guy… Read more »
Funny, when forum folk claim “sources”, I always laugh. A ton of posters claim some supposed inside guy, like ” I know one of the towel boy’s girlfriend’s dad!”, lol. Knowing how badly word of mouth can be distorted, I usually tell folks to take these things with a grain of salt…but I lucked into a strong 2nd hand source to someone in the organization, and while I was skeptical at first, over the last 3 years he’s given me some really vague but juicy tidbits. For example, he was the first to tell me how much CG loved the… Read more »
umm could you link us to the source T?
Need a whole saltshaker for that rumor T. Don’t believe it has any merit at all.
@ T
Um well that is bad.
Take this with a grain, kids…I just heard the Kyrie rumor is true, that he wants out, go to big market. He and Brown already aren’t getting along, MB called out his effort and leadership in a private convo, indicated that hes a ball hog and needs to score less. I’m told rumor source was TT. Again, grain of salt…
Sweet.
I’m doubt it means anything on the court but I do like the fact that we have drafted and seem to have a team of articulate people, Kyrie, Tristan, Bennett, Zeller, and even Karasev from what I have seen are good with the media and seem to have the capability to carry on a conversation, Dion not as much but for the but he isn’t as bad as alot of the young players that have come into the league, that barely seem to be able to string a sentence together And keep it up Robert, the summer recaps have been… Read more »
