#BlameDelly

[Are we sure that Delly wasn’t in Houston last night? That city was also flooded today forcing the Texans to cancel practice…]

Did anything bad happen to you today? Did anything ruin your Memorial Day weekend? Have you seen any unfortunate disasters or annoying mishaps befall people you know or places you go? Chances are… it was all Delly’s fault.

Yes, this pesky Australian spit-fire, recently dubbed practically Public Enemy #1 in these NBA playoffs by any number of talking heads and Atlanta Hawks, should likely be the culprit in everything from your burnt morning toast to the real cause of global warming…

Who knew at the start of the season (heck, even at the start of these playoffs) that the man once derided as “Dellava D-League” would become known as the dangerous and infamous “Aussie Assassin”?

To hear some tell it, Delly would be the 6’4 second coming of Bill Laimbeer or Kermit Washington. A deliberately dirty player who is just gunning for the other team’s best players and systematically taking them out like a basketball ninja.

“I really didn’t see too much, but then I looked at the replay,” said DeMarre Carroll. “I just seen Dellavedova diving. You know, he did it to Kyle. He’s one of our starters and he gotta have surgery, he’s out 4-6 months. And he did it to Al. I think Al said, ‘Enough of this.’ And he did what he did.”

Al Horford, while not calling Delly “dirty” agreed with the Junkyard Dog…

“If it was on purpose or not, we don’t know. Maybe it wasn’t on purpose. But, you know, with just his track record, I just felt like it was,” Horford said.

And today, sports talk shows have entire segments dedicated to whether or not Mad Matt is a “dirty” player. But LeBron James has had enough of the nonsense…

“I’m a little bit off about it because this is my guy, this is my teammate and this is a guy that goes out and works his tail off every single night and people are trying to give him a bad rap,” James said. “He doesn’t deserve it and I don’t like it.”

Still, there seems to be a groundswell of people suffering from the Delly affect. Just look at the damage he’s seemingly responsible for.

From historical and natural disasters…

Even Cleveland personalities are getting into the act…

Baskin and Phelps even got it to trend on Cleveland Twitter…

Share your story about how that darn Delly has affected your life. What do you #BlameDelly for?

I don’t know about you, but my favorite one is:

The Hawks are 0-3 and too busy complaining about the Cavs scrappy back-up point guard to realize they’re on the verge of going home for the summer… #BlameDelly
