Live Thread: Cavs @ Knicks 2014-12-04 Off By Nate Smith Knicks, losers of 12 of the last 14 host the Cavs. Lets hope Cleveland doesn’t help them off the mat. Attack of the Mid-Top Talking Cavs with Mark Neal
Uh Oh…Bron is angry! Deeeeep Three
Carmelo 4-16, LBJ 5-13. Combined 9-29 from two of the best players in the game.
Gotta say this team needs a rim protector. Also our rebounding is pretty god awful. Kevin Love might box out well but when you are 6’7″ and a half and cant’t jump going against 6’11” guys that can jump you are in not going to be able to pull many down outside your area. Long ball rebounds killing us this game. Also James no longer looks like the best player in the league, more like a top ten player. Why, probably cause his finally seemed to have hit the athletic wall. He has no bounce, no first step, no lateral… Read more »
Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?
Could be worse, but I think we are still a few pieces away from seriously contending in the east let alone for the championship. But seriously, I obviously exaggerated a bit but the part about Blatt I am serious about. I am hoping I am just missing stuff and I would honestly like it if someone pointed some sets out to me.
Also I feel like someone has to balance out cols optimism.
I know what you mean. We all try, but that’s a large mountain to climb my friend.
Wonder what The Donald is trying to convince Bill O’Reilly of
Insert really lame Tupee joke
I think LBJ’s new Kia is giving him back problems ;)
Cavs just not getting any foul calls tonight from the refs. KLove got mugged on back to back plays there.
Kyrie is so damned smart. 1-on-4 hesitation dribble to get the cavs in the bonus.
There’s a nice shot from Love. Looks like he got fouled
Even on the angle from baseline camera you could see two fouls. The ref was there and even the Knicks player with the ball stopped for a second.
Cavs are going to bury them now.
Paper Whisperer to the rescue??
If cavs play like this in Toronto the raptors will win by 25 at least
I don’t know. Cavs seem to be playing better games against the good teams than the bad this year
Not sure why they can’t get Love involved. He’s got like one shot in the second half
A loss has to be on Blatt. What is going on with these rotations? These guys on the court have no idea what to expect.
Dude he’s searching for someone to play with some effort besides Kyrie.
What the hell happened to this team tonight? We’re they out partying before the game?
The Knicks really want to give us this game.
This game is terrible.
Andy not leaving Jason Smith alone tonight. They learned from the first game
Someone get Dion a stupid pull-up shock collar.
Or a bit of the old ultraviolence…
Amare looking like he’s 10 years younger tonight. He probably used the elbow on Andy there, but that was a sick dunk
Another assist wasted by TT. What’s he doing out there? Go with Andy, Blatt
We need a bruiser on this team.
they need more toughness
Okay Nate. I know what you’re going to say about the end of that quarter. Fourth will be better I think though.
Jesus. TT just stood there after Jason Smith punked KLove with a wicked foul. This team does not have each others’ backs.
This reminds me of that ugly Utah game. Whose gonna chuck the winning shot for the Knicks? JR Smith?
I’d say Hardaway or Quincy Acy. But I think the Cavs will pull this one out
Hey Cols, that would have been a good time for LBJ’s first chase down block of the year
He just cost you a beer
TT looking lost out there right now. Doesn’t look like he knows what to do
Kyrie’s scoring performance right now, that last ridiculous layup he made, this NY crowd wasn’t even booing they’re oohing and ahhing
Well, they covered Hardaway on that one, but somehow Jason Smith got the rebound and they left Larkin wide open
wow kyrie! Putting on a show.
ANOTHER sick move by Kyrie! If guys were making shots on his passes, they wouldn’t be talking about his 0 assists. But when he’s scoring like he is tonight, why not keep shooting?
Kyrie hasn’t really handle the ball though, he plays at the scorer tonight while LBJ is the facilitator. It’s not fair people making a big deal of his assist number when he’s not really playing that role.
LBJ with a sweet pass to TT
TT…….useless
Carmelo and LBJ matching each other miss for miss. Maybe they had lunch together and both have food poisoning or something.
I guess Quincy Acy will be tonight’s recipient of the “career game against the Cavs” award.
Was just thinking that. Nice
Greg Anthony just remarked on how much LBJ seems unfocused or distracted out there with his play. His energy doesn’t seem that off, but he didn’t seem to know what he wanted to do on that fast break.
Wow. That was one of the worst sequences by a single player I’ve seen in a while. Matrix lays the ball up over the rim, then tips it out to the other team to start the fast break. At least he redeemed himself a little with the three
Kyrie is so good
And (at least on this) we can agree whole-heartedly Cols.
Someone needs to turn a firehose on Quincy Acy
LeBron is chucking.
His shot doesn’t look bad, it’s just a little off
TT playing some pretty good D on Amare
Would love to see some of these short ones start falling for LBJ. At least he got the foul call that time.
Who’s got higher hair, Shumpert or Nerlens?
Quincy Acy continuing to shoot like a maniac
@joevardon: LeBron’s right elbow is hurt. He’s holding it after every warm-up shot
So far so good. They look a bit lethargic but I think they will get it together in the 2nd half.
I’m not impressed
With Kyrie, his shoes or the game?
Not with the game. Kyrie also has 0 assists
He should have at least 3. Lot of guys short arming shots at the rim tonight
Kyrie’s shoes are going to sell like crazy – CRAZY
I’m putting an order in now. They’re all my son wants for Christmas
Man-love for Kyrie at all-time high tonight.
I take responsibility for that. I’m excited for his shoes and his play. Plus the fact that he’s on my fantasy team factors into it also.
Actually, I was talking from my own end. He has me all bubbly inside.
How are they down three?
Because nobody was guarding Hardaway. Dion ran at him once and that was the only three he missed.
Kyrie, Hardaway and 14 other guys playing awful basketball.
Kyrie can’t be stopped! Come on Nate, even you have to admit that was a pretty good close on that quarter.
Oh yeah he’s ridiculous. Everyone else is awful. And what do you mean, “even you?” :)
You always say you feel like they can’t close out quarters well
EVEN YOU know what he means, NATE
Lebron just missed those two layups. No one was near him on the second.
ANOTHER sick move!! He’s in NBA Jam mode tonight!
The more Kyrie continues to drive like this, the more guys should be open on the perimeter.
You’d think, but this is the Knicks.
Thank GOD for Kyrie! He is working those mid-tops like a crazy man tonight!
Another sick move by Kyrie
Is it opening night again?
Lot of gator arming near the rim tonight. Can’t believe LBJ missed twice at the rim right there. Looked like he thought he was fouled.
LeBron can’t buy a hoop. Even at the rim.
Thankfully Anthony is playing as bad as LeBron
Yeah, Melo completely ruined that great play by Calderon with the travel
LeBron looks like he’s playing at 50 %
Well, Kyrie is playing at 110%
LeBron in transition this season has been depressing
Holy Cow, Kevin Love is lazy on D.
Acy and Hardaway Jr. aren’t this good.
Nobody is guarding Hardaway, so I get why he’s scoring. Acy I just don’t understand. I mean there were 3 Cavs swarming him and he somehow recovered the ball and still got it up and in with a foul. Just ridiculous
Does Quincy Acy only play in beast mode against the Cavs?
Man it is fun to watch Kyrie handle the ball. That behind the back move was ridiculous!
The Rookie and Dion breaking the offensive drought. Nice to see
Somebody should probably guard Hardaway
Too many turnovers and hero ball.
They should remember that Greg Smith is money on the weak side. Especially when unguarded
Sorry, Jason Smith
Getting a little sloppy with the ball. Kyrie and Dion both had good passes to Matrix but he’s just short arming it a bit
Low energy first, and then Kyrie shot out of a canon!
Not a bad first quarter. Once some shots start falling it should be fine. Cavs getting good inside rebounds. Knicks hitting some lucky shots early.
