Live Thread: Cavaliers at Sixers

Nothing says “woulda coulda shoulda” like the Philadelphia 76ers. The Cavs easily could have had both Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid. Whatever poison you cared to pick was there for the taking. In back to back drafts, the Sixers choose the path most easily covered by tread. One can easily see the logic in choosing high ceiling bigmen. One can even defend the selections by pointing to Nerlens Noel’s relative success as a rookie. Regardless of your opinion on tanking developing young players, the Sixers have sacrificed wins for the development of young talent. The Cavaliers and David Blatt(who got a vote of confidence that wasn’t a vote of confidence) desperately need what Philly is cooking.
With Kyrie, LeBron and Andy(forever) out of the lineup, the Wine and Gold will look for a circa 2013 game from Kevin Love. Dion Waiters will get the opportunity to run the team for the first time since his successful stretch to finish last season. Sound off.
7:10pm: The Knicks are leaning towards waiving Dalembert outright rather than trading him, according to Shams Charania of RealGM (on Twitter).
Maybe it’s just me but dalemvert will at least get looks from many teams. The Knicks are toxic right now. Fisher might be fired and collecting fat checks for nothing. Kind of like mike brown.

Three random thoughts:
I love how bad the Sixers are. They don’t even look like an NBA team.
I think Shumpert is a nice pickup. J.R Smith not so much, but he might provide some irrational offense off the bench.
I’m gonna miss Dion. My favorite interview on the team and capable of surprising moments of greatness. I’ll root for him wherever he goes.
Until they say who it is I worry it’s jr smith. My guess is that iman is the best fit but this is Cleveland.

I think the Cavs will get Dalembert and Shumpert. Shumpert is a good defender and can score a bit and Dalembert is a good shot blocker but low basketball IQ.
