The Mavericks are in Cleveland tonight to take on the Cavs. This is the last game these two teams will play this year. Cleveland leads the series 1-0.
The Mavericks are crashing right now losing six of their last seven games. They’re in the eighth spot in the Western Conference, but the Jazz are just two games behind them and riding a three game win streak. Dallas is going to be fighting for their lives tonight.
LeBron James will be sitting this game out. The Cavs are 0-2 when he sits. Iman Shumpert will start at the three and Tristan Thompson will start at the five instead of Mozgov.
The Mavericks aren’t exactly the most athletic team, but they make opposing defenses work their way around numerous screens, while keeping their eyes open for cutters. Defensively, they’re a middle of the pack team, although Chandler Parsons and Justin Anderson are above average wing defenders.
The Cavs need to remain focused and shut down a Dallas team that is all smarts, little athleticism, and maybe even less talent. Remember, Cleveland was blown out by the Wizards when LeBron last sat out.
I’m predicting the Cavs win 101-92, and LeBron watches the whole game, not just through three quarters.
Not sure why AC thinks the mavs defensive pressure hasn’t improved cuz it definitely has.

This is the type of team I expect without Lebron. A team that would still compete in the east. Lue got through to some of them about movement and early offense

Wish that Kyrie would pull up from 3 more when his defender is a step back. That’s a high % shot for him. It’s better than dribbling around for 18 seconds and shooting midrange shots

Agree… he’s also done a decent job on D the last few games…
He had a decent post game when he entered the league for the Knicks, which he abandoned when he developed a 3 point shot and the league started shooting many threes.

The dude can’t hit the broadside of a barn anymore for whatever reason. We aren’t paying him to be active we are paying him to space the floor. Game in game out shooting sub 30% ain’t gonna cut it.

He is a pretty good offensive player. He has given just as much on the defensive end though. Love looks like Ibaka on D compared to Lee.

CLE is a 5.5 point favorite over DAL with an o/u @ 206.5. CLE is a solid smart money bet. The OVER is a slight smart money bet, but bets are coming in @ nearly 50/50, so tread carefully.
I’ll take CLE over DAL 107-100. Vegas is hoping for CLE’s elite offense to continue at their high scoring clip against a subpar DAL defense along with a solid defensive performance by CLE against DAL’s top-10 offense.
What will win out… Mavs desire to hold onto their playoff spot, or the Cavs desire to show they can win without LBJ? Gonna be a close one, but still think the Cavs can pull this one out at home… 105-100
