Live Thread: Cavs @ Magic

The Cavs have dominated the Magic the past few seasons to the tune of 13 straight victories over their one time Eastern Conference rival. I was optimistic before the season, that Magic coach Scott Skiles would have his usual effect on their maturing young core, and that they’d return to the playoff picture during his first season, but things haven’t gone to script as the team currently stands just 29-38, and four games from the conference floor.

The Cavs will see a return of Timofey Mozgov back into the starting lineup after his DNP-CD against the Mavericks. Tonight, will also mark the return of LeBron James after a three day rest/maintenance sabbatical. On the flip side, the Magic will playing without leading scorer and rebounder Nikola Vucevic, and starting point guard Eldrid Payton. If you partake in daily fantasy, Brandon Jennings is a must play. Between the Cavs pathetic defense on opposing point men, and Jennings’ low-cost, he should be able to exceed five times his value tonight.

Kevin Love is listed as a game time decision due to an illness, after his superb 23 point, 18 rebound performance against the Mavs.

I’ll forecast a 108-92 Cavs victory, and here’s hoping that the Celtics can take down the Raptors to extend the Cavs Conference lead to three games over the Raptors. Let’s dish!
