Live Thread: Cavs @ Rockets

The Cavaliers lost of three in a row prior to beating the Magic. Now it is time to perform against a contender. Swish is still getting acclimated, but will certainly be needed against one of the premier three point shooting teams in the NBA. The Rockets’ incredibly fast pace will challenge the Cavaliers’ defense, which has seemed sluggish during the most recent slump, as well as the one in January. Will James Harden Eurostep to victory, or will Lebron show Houston what a real MVP looks like?
The Cavs are still without Korver, and Love is still some weeks from returning. But no one else is being held out tonight. The Rockets are at full strength.

I think the only way they win this game is if they actually play d. Something I am not sure this team is all that capable of on a consistent basis. Don’t think they are outscoring in a shootout the Rockets, but they might able able to beat them with some semblance of defense, if they are capable of doing so…..

Closeouts are ok. Not smothering. We’ve got really lucky at the rim with multiple missed bunnies by the rockets.
Nice to see Lebron and Kyrie on the court tonight. I’m sure ABC was pretty disappointed last night when Golden State rested their whole lineup.

Argh. Such horrible d by Derrick there. You have to keep your hand up to start and keep it mostly vertical, not horizontal. That being said, I would make sure I hit Harden in the nose on every single foul.

Kyrie is very tunnel vision in the open court. You could see that TO coming a mile away. Wish he’d learn to run it more under control rather than kamikaze to the hoop every time.

One of the worst teams defending against the 3 ball (the Cavs) against the best 3 point shooting team in the league. I’m not expecting a positive result for the Cavs in this one, at this point I just hope that they make it interesting.
My prediction Rockets will win 122-112.
This is a game where we could really use Love & Korver if this goes the way of a 3pt shooting contest. I wonder if Liggins gets some run on Harden this game? Couple minutes here and there.
Should be a fun game.
Back to back on the road. Third game in four nights. Don’t give a crap about this game. Means absolutely nothing, besides perhaps a prime time match up between the two leading MVP candidates.
But Kyrie has already ruined that. So nothing means anything. Last week of March, when K-Love is back. Sanders has been added. Then everything will mean everything. Stupid NBA and its endless stupid schedule. Everyone stay healthy, all that matters.
If the Cavs D is going to come together, it better be now or this game will be in the 100s.
By all statistical measures a high scoring game is likely. Hopefully the Cavs show up to play.
Kyrie/Harden matchups are always my favorites. I love both their games.
I hate the fact that Harden is such a craftsman at drawing fouls while guys do pullups on Lebron’s arm with no call, but respect Harden’s game even so.
