Live Thread: Cavs vs. Pacers (#NoFoolin’)
2017-04-02The month of March was no laughing matter for the Cavs. In fact, the 31 day stretch… populated with 17 games, including 12 on the road and five back-to-backs, must have seemed like one long set up for the worst kind of April Fools joke. But, it’s over now. The Cavs got back on the winning track to close out their forced march through March with a win over a significantly depleted Sixers squad. Now, they look to extend their fortune on the second game of a three game home stand with the Indiana Pacers in town. Normally, early April would be a prime time for fooling around with lineups and getting extra rest for starters, yet the wine & gold find themselves in the thick of not only jockeying for playoff position, but also still trying to get a rhythm going for all of their new pieces.
The Pacers, once firmly in position for the sixth seed in the EC, have fallen apart a bit of late. They’ve lost three in a row, and are just 3-7 in their last 10, dropping into a tie for the seventh/eighth spot with Chicago and Miami. They’re still powered by their star forward, Paul George, but he’s openly questioned the team’s sense of urgency as they stumble towards the end of the season. Indiana did, however, bring back their former resident prankster and ear whisperer, Lance Stephenson, on a three year deal.

Did the Pacers sign Lance with the expectation that they’d wind up meeting the Cavs in round one? Possibly… although it remains to be seen if the two teams will finish the season in the requisite seeds that would result in that matchup. The Cavs have won the last two meetings with the Pacers after dropping the first one this season. Cleveland should have everyone available with the exception of Kyle Korver (foot) and Richard Jefferson (knee tendonitis). The Pacers will likely be without Al Jefferson (ankle) and Glenn Robinson III (calf).
Cavs probable starters: Kyrie Irving, J.R. Smith, LeBron James, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson. Pacers probable starters: Jeff Teague, Monta Ellis, Paul George, Thaddeus Young, Myles Turner.
Prediction: Cavs don’t fool around with the Pacers, and get April rolling with a 112-106 victory.

That looked like a pretty questionable offensive foul…
Especially with the crap they let Lance get away with earlier.
He sold that!
JR getting his swag back…
WOW what a tough shot from JR!!
JR SWISHHHHH!

Kyrie turning a corner in toughness. Can’t wait to see him shut the crap out of Curry.
Love’s shot has been so ugly lately
Pacers were better under Vogel.
Kyrie with a makeup call.

Refs calling nothing tonight. LeBron hit in the face twice already.
Refs have still called 8 fouls on the Pacers compared to 3 on Cavs so far though…
Such bull$h&*
Felder in street clothes tonight
Surprised he’s not in Canton helping Charge win playoff games…
Cuz the late show is in town.

DWill should be able to get the best of Aaron Brooks…
I’m guessing we won’t see Liggins…. :(
I really hope LBJ’s FT shooting doesn’t come back to bite him in the post season…
Gotta keep someone attached to CJ Miles…
Can we please guard Miles?
Two uncalled offensive fouls on the same plays
Kinda surprised RJ is back. He led us to believe in Fred’s “Something I said” it would be 2 weeks
Same old Lance…
Lance up to his old tricks…
Lance is such a turd
Just a little short RJ…
Bron Bron emerging from chill mode…
WOWWWWW Deron Williams Very nice!!
What’d he do?
Draining 3’s tonight!!
Sweet!
ThreeWill!
Beautiful day to be at the Q. It’s in the 60’s today and sunny
RJ back out there…
Not bad considering the Pacers shot 58% that quarter with five threes…
Insane shooting no by indy. Deron on 3J is a bad matchup though.
That Kyrie block on Teague…

Nice close to the quarter. Kyrie ice cold but hit Frye for a nice dime and then helped get a stop at the end. Played some. Decent D.
That half courter was close by LBJ…
Like the pic above EG! LoL
Good close to the quarter!
Apparently Kyrie heard me.
Deep Frye!
Frye redeem!
Cavs did not learn their lesson from the last time they played the Pacers with respect to guarding CJ…
Shump hasn’t been the same since he got rid of that flat top
Shump with the blue shoes to change his mojo
I understand keep shooting, but it’s okay to look for open teammates.
Agree!
This lineup seems to get killed lately…
Kyrie isn’t moving the ball at all.
Indiana hoisting YOLO threes
Monta usually shoots better than average against Cavs… and CJ always does too…
I know lol It drives me crazy!!!
LBJ lets PG-13 get it right back… slow closeout
JR SWISH!
Great D and block by Kyrie! Leads to a LBJ breakaway dunk…
Bad overcommit on the pnr…

Like the energy early… KLove looks strong
N8 @ the Game!
RJ active but didn’t warm until much. Still being worked on by trainers.
What’s Nates record when attending?
Nice article on a very personal interview with Dan Gilbert and his son Nick.

Watching warmup. Kevs jumper looked flat from right corner but twine from everywhere else.
Bring home a winner, Nate !!! Can you tackle Shumpert if he dribbles too much?
Good news on RJ. He is suiting up for the Pacers.
Everything is awesome. Including Federer.
