Playoff Live Thread: Celtics @ Cavs, Game 3

The Celtics are in Cleveland tonight. After losing by 44 points in game two at home, one would think that the Celtics are ready to play on a different court, a court where they aren’t even expected to compete.
That’s probably not the case though. With Isaiah Thomas out for game three due to a hip injury, the Celtics can’t even hope a change of scenery will help them. They simply won’t be able to score enough tonight.
Tyronn Lue may try some stuff just for the sake of seeing how it works, some on the fly Finals prep, and he will probably play the starters just a little less. Still, I can’t see Boston coming within 15 of the Cavs after four quarters. I’m picking Cleveland 126-111.

Aside from just staying sharp and continuing good habits… there’s not a whole lot of defense the Cavs need to play if their offense is going this good…
I think that was the master plan… especially when LBJ is the perfect blend of scoring and assisting.

Celtics showing pride, but still, no contest. Not crazy about Kyrie’s defense but that’s about it. Little sloppy with turnovers and behind the back passes. But this was over Game one. These next two games are basically preseason.

We’ve got 5 turnovers and Boston has 8 more shot attempts than us 25-17. One we clean that up and balance attacking the rim with 3’s, we will be good

Such a strange feeling to be heading into what seems like a two-game victory lap in the ECF. As long as the Cavs bear down at the start of each game, the Celtics shouldn’t be able to compete.
The goals for these two games are: 1–Win. 2–No injuries (looking at you, Olynyk). 3–No suspensions (looking at you, JR and maybe Tristan too).
Being at the Q should help the refs keep the games under control and prevent the Celtics from going full-on goon squad.

i thought Game 2 would be close and then it was a blood bath….not sure what to think for this game to be honest…..maybe another blowout but who knows….i think this will follow similar script to Game 1 with Cavs getting early lead and then holding on throughout the game…I did read that Lue showed video of all the wide open shots Celtics had last two games, even though most never went in, the point was to NOT leave them open….figure Cavs will fly around the ball tonite since Celtics have no creator now….also saw Smart is starting and Stevens… Read more »
I agree with Coach Lue if they gave all those open looks to the Warriors it would be a very different result. Got to correct that if they want to have a chance in the finals.
It certainly seems likely that this game will be closer than the last one purely due to how historic game 2 was. Also wouldn’t be surprised if your prediction regarding Lue’s experimentation proves correct. I’m in a bitter war of the wills with a 4 year old son of sure how much I can catch but I’m pretty much LeBron James comparatively in this match up so hopefully I dunk on him and he starts going to bed and staying there
