Live Thread: Cavs vs. Wizards

The last time the Cavaliers faced off against the Washington Wizards, LeBron went off in an explosion for 57 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists leading Cleveland to one of its early season marquee wins. In addition to LeBron’s supernova, Jeff Green had his coming out party, putting up 25 points of his own. A lot was different in that first match-up. The Cavs were struggling at 4-5 and the Wizards were 4-4. Derrick Rose was starting and played 29 minutes.
Now, both teams have risen back to the top of the Easter Conference, Cavs holding a 22-8 record, Washington a 16-13 records. The Cavs are resting DWade tonight, IT still hasn’t made his return, but TT should be getting 14-15 minutes, per Ty Lue. The Cavs and especially James have been playing very well of late so I expect tonight to go well. Cleveland tends to get up for games against “rivals” so hopefully that remains the case tonight. Go Cavs!
Lue may need to play bench extended minutes tonight.
Gotta keep fighting in the paint not brick ingredients 3’s

We got 3 quick fouls on them to start the 2nd & went away from it.
Lue has been very good managing the rotation lately, but 21 mins for James on a b2b when Cedi was playing good? Maybe James told Lue he didn’t want out. LeBron needed a blow as this is his first somewhat inefficient half in a long time.
will see what happens—how “much gas we have left in the tank ” the 2nd half—–could start to show up —–reason for cavs losing
Whew. LBJ three to tie it up, and then wall hits a miracle half-court runner. Thankfully the ball was still on his fingertips.
Wiz put up 37 in that quarter.
I shouldn’t complain but when is the last time we won the “rebounding war”-used to win that battle almost every game —
We play only 1 big. Bron isn’t a block out guy, Crowder doesn’t rebound well either.

I’m watching the DC feed, and their announcers have talked about them three times, twice at length. Equality is getting some air time.
Cedi is a much better finisher at the rim than Shump is. Not a high bar, I know. But it isn’t really close, either.
He can take all the minutes from Shump as far as I’m concerned.
Had to eat some dinner. Pretty crazy how Jeff Green joins LeBron as a guy who’s played every single position for the Cavs this year as he just got a little run at the point sharing the guard duties with Cedi.
He even got a bucket for TT.

I optimistically guessed our 4 game homestand that we just completed. So my guess might not be worth much.
8 teams on 13 losses at the moment:

16-13 = Wiz, Det, Indy, NY, Por, Den
15-13 = Bucks
If I were to guess, IT either returns Thursday vs the Bulls or he doesn’t return until early January.

This would be a great game to start the IT era. Maybe seven minutes to start each half. Contribute high energy to minimize B2B issues for Cavs.
