From Distance: Questioning Value and Things
2018-01-25Four point play….
1. On the nine hour train ride I had yesterday to Innsbruck, Austria, I went into a cryptocurrency internet deep dive. With literally hundreds of various coins to research and fantasize about, the nine hours actually went by pretty quickly.
Obviously, the coins themselves have varying levels of intrigue. Unlike in yesteryear, these “coins” require more than an appreciation of metallurgy to fathom the lasting implications they will have. A level of programming literacy is necessary to appreciate their beauty. Gotta admit, after a bit of research, it’s not as though I am fluent in blockchain lingo, or really understand the degree to which a full node differs from a master node.
The intricacies of the design technology is surely the awe of those who truly understand the programming feats of these coins. I certainly don’t qualify there. And yet, there is much to consider.
Thinking about the potential of the “Internet of Things” is incredibly entertaining, slightly frightening, and all together wild. It naturally brings the AI question to the soon to be “connected table.” How long before various appliances are to be considered the “hands and feet” of a centralized computer intelligence? The “things” don’t need to be individually sentient if enough tech is connected.
Some of the currencies are said to have more potential for the future connection of things. How, exactly, those currency universes promote or style that future system will demand another long train ride.
Still, the most immediate and lasting sensation from my deep dive is a feeling of hope. The most basic and somewhat boring hope comes from the possibility of easy money. The more lasting hope comes from the technological advances inherent in this race.
It may seem like a modern dotcom boom, but the players are investing more in function than marketing. Yes, it is prudent to consider the market “hotness” of the various coins, but the real investment lies in the kind of tech being established.
Bitcoin has name recognition, and for good reason. To the masses, it has achieved “Rollerblades” or “Kleenex” status at this point. An ubiquitous name used improperly for all cryptocurrencies, regardless of accuracy.
It is the behemoth, and currently being heavily reviewed by governments both at Davos and otherwise. Bitcoin isn’t going anywhere, it just remains to be seen whether it is just entering its prime or whether it peaked earlier than its ultimately superior peers.
Bitcoin reminds me a bit of an old-school bruising center. It still gets the job done, is more physically consistent and durable than the many other coins around it, and yet soon may become obsolete on account that it can’t move quickly enough for the modern(transaction) game.
Like an old center, it spends its time on the block(chain) unable to move quickly from one end of the floor to another. It seems only a matter of time before the game passes by the original brand.
That being said, until the other coins can be easily purchased without first having to go through Bitcoin conversion, bitcoin will live on. You can’t teach size!
Eventually, the open-source technology of many of these coins will win out. If a currency can truly function without a centralized hub, then that positional flexibility will make global transaction both easier and more difficult to track.
Yet, like with most big business, ultimately, the best technology is likely to be purchased by the best market brand name. The little guy will be absorbed, bought off, or destroyed.
2. With that uplifting thought, I get to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Or should I say, I get to these Cleveland Cavaliers. Who knows who will be on the team two weeks from now.
It was reported by seemingly dozens of sources that the Cavs are on “one yard line” in acquiring veteran combo guard, George Hill. Apparently, Iman Shumpert and Channing Frye are the guys who would be sent to the NBA’s wasteland.
Like most people, I would assume that the Kings would quickly negotiate a buyout for Channing Frye. He’d be a great random piece for the OKC Thunder. They are athletic enough everywhere else to make up for some of Frye’s limitations while benefiting greatly from his floor spacing.
Whatever happens, I hope Channing gets a chance to ball and/or have fun. By the numbers, he has been one of the best players the Cavs have had this season. That hasn’t seemed to matter in the slightest to Ty Lue over the past month.
If it drives us crazy to watch an effective player ride the pine while completely awful guys get minutes in his place, I can only imagine how poor Channing feels. What a pro’s pro.
3. As far as Iman Shumpert is concerned, I am thrilled at the prospect of him taking his talents elsewhere. While it is true that Shumpert hasn’t had a hand in the recent Cavalier slide, he has stunk up the joint plenty enough for me in the past.
I laughed rather maniacally when approximately two seconds after his insertion into the Spurs game, Shump pulled up for the deepest two point shot one can attempt. Of course, he didn’t make a single pass on the possession. Bombs away, Shump!!! The ridiculous Kings would be happy to have you.
George Hill has been understandably frustrated up in Sactown. I can’t say that it seems that he has handled it particularly well, but considering he doesn’t have much of a reputation as a malcontent, is a favorite of Gregg Popovich, and is in the middle of his prime, I will assume that the Kings confusion was just too much for him.
Former Utah Jazz PG George Hill isn’t having a wonderful time
He knew what he was doing when he left Utah to sign the big deal in Sacramento. But can you blame him? This way, he gets the big deal and can be traded to a contender. Well done, Hill, even if it took a few months of torture to get there.
4. Okay, maybe I’m getting carried away. The deal isn’t done and the Cavs still have to figure out some way to deal with Isaiah Thomas’s destruction of all that is good and holy on the defensive end of the floor.
Even if the reports weren’t true that IT was the one who railed against Kevin Love, I would still be wholly for trading or cutting Thomas. In case anyone forgot, I don’t think he is good. Nor was he was good in last year’s playoffs either when everyone was going crazy over his numbers.
The reality of it is simple. Against real competition, IT isn’t a plus player in the NBA. The Wizards in last year’s playoffs were not real competition. Go back and watch the defense being feigned in that series. It was a joke.
We can talk about IT’s injury as though that is what has drastically changed his career, but that isn’t really quite accurate. The guy was a problem in the locker room in Sac-town and PHX, had a good year with a fantastic coach in Boston, and now is neither the best version of an already flawed player, or seemingly a good teammate.
He was never going to get the Brink’s truck or any other currency delivered to him. I wouldn’t be shocked if he ends up in the Euroleague as early as next season. Yes, he has been that bad.
Jordan Clarkson has also been on the Cav’s radar this week. Count me as one who doesn’t really love his game. Since there haven’t been any names attached to the potential deal, I won’t go far enough to say that I am against Clarkson joining the Cavs. If nothing else, potentially putting Clarkson and Hill on the team moves IT and Rose further down the depth chart.
I’d certainly be down to acquire Larry Nance Jr. That he is on the Lakers’ trade block at all says a lot about their current decision making process. He has his father’s ability to leap off one foot or explode off of two. This one is particularly fun considering the dunkee.
Maybe we are all watching the kid through Larry Senior’s rosy glasses, but Junior seems like he is on his way to a long and productive career.
Then again, that is the way of it when evaluating early returns. Maybe Nance Jr. peaked early and the best investment strategy is to get out now. Hard to know with these things. Fortunately, our coffeemakers and ironing boards will have some advice about it soon. The Internet of Things.
Any chance the Cavs win tonight?
Sure if Lue pulls IT quick if the d starts hemorrhaging points and if he plays Frye 15-20 minutes with Wade, Korver, Green, and Crowder/Osman. The key is not allowing lineups (like his current starting lineup) that are getting there butts kicked to keep getting their butts kicked. In other words as soon as a group starts losing it, you make changes and never go back to the lineup that is getting obliterated. You know, the opposite of what he did in San Antonio.
Well it’s January, so probably not!

So when Kyrie was traded, my blame pie was like 80% Kyrie, 10% Gilbert, 10% LeBron. But reading some of these recent articles and seeing how LeBron has carried himself yet through another disastrous January (and seeing how Kyrie is playing in Boston), the blame pie should be 1/3 Kyrie, 1/3 LeBron, and 1/3 Midget Idiot Owner, right?
Knowing how childish Kyrie can be, I put at least 50% on him. For the terrible trade, it’s 100% on the front office. Yes, their hand was forced, and they had to move him, but it’s idiotic to move him to Boston unless they make them feel the pain, too. (as in, they give up Brown or Tatum)The Cavs bailed out Ainge from having to make a no-win decision on IT’s contract. Make Ainge give him a terrible contract, or take the PR hit.
I would have sent him even to Milwaukee before Boston.
We don’t know that the Bucks deal was actually on the table, there have been claims that it wasn’t, but you’re right. In retrospect, Middleton, Brogdon, and a pick? Woah, someone get me a time travel machine.
Yep – assuming that this Bucks trade was on the table, that was clearly the better offer. Brogdon and Middleton are perfect to defend GS (not that it would be easy).
Neither one are a negative on the other side of the court too. Brogdon has had success running the point and Middleton can score. He’s averaging 20 ppg and shooting 34% from 3… ugh.
I listened to Brendan Haywood on 92.3 this morning and he seems to think the Cavs will turn it around, and still get to the finals. He doesn’t think anyone in the East can beat LeBron in a 7 game series. He doesn’t think the Cavs can beat the Warriors or Rockets in a finals series.

Shut up.
Yeah, we see everything too……….like your matador defense and big mouth about Boston having your back better.

You guys love sipping the haterade, maybe the most of you need another team to root for.
NickNeverstheBlog, where haterade is not tolerated.
I root for laundry not players. I want the cavs to win. I could care less about guys not named Lebron. Therefore I have zero reason to be sentimentally attached to IT. He is objectively awful. Keyword there is objective. The data backs up the obvious. He is hurting the team by his very presence because he is no longer a viable nba player. He barely was before the injury since his defense cancelled out any contribution from his offense. Now he is inefficient, gunning up shots, and turning the ball over, while taking shots from Love. In addition, if… Read more »

Lue just says, “Stick with it.” Quite profound
Bleacher Report’s Trade with Charlotte – http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y8xo6tqq plus Cavs get Utah’s 2018 first, and Charlotte gets the BKN pick and Utah 2018 2nd rounder.
Apparently the trade machine link isn’t working – The Trade:
Cavs get Derrick Favors, Rodney Hood, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kemba Walker, and Utah’s 2018 first
Charlotte gets Frye, Shump, Rubio, the BKN pick, and a 2018 second rounder from Utah
Utah gets Kevin Love, Michael Carter-Williams, and Isaiah Thomas.
I wouldn’t give up Love and the Brooklyn pick for that package.
No way. Giving away two all-stars and a top ten pick for that…
those all star rosters are pretty stacked but Lebron’s is ridiculous….could easily see team drop 170…i wonder how much adjustments Lebron and Love will make with defensive side of ball for All Star game. One player in college I think will shoot up the draft as season goes on and of course if team make it far is Ohio St. Keita Bates-Diop. Dude has come back from brutal injuries and been the clear star in the B10 and can shoot and drive at will. Would not be surprised if success continues he is top 10 pick, especially if he can… Read more »
I’m sure they will score over 170…the final of last year’s game was 192-182. I have zero interest in watching, since it’s just a layup line and three jacking show nowadays.
Nice thoughtful article. I’ve been doing similar catchup reading on Blockchain and crypto. My summary is that it is a new way of creating networks that will drop the cost of managing a network because you no longer need all off the verification checks and balances and server equipment but can use the crypto tech and virtual networks put at your disposal with the incentive of mining coins. This will be big in banking, investment and funding, ISPs, identity management, social networking and eventually supply chains. Crypto and blockchain redistribute the value created by corporate control of brokerage services automating… Read more »
Cryptocurrencies have zero intrinsic value. What value they have is from facilitating prostitution, drug dealing, spying, murders for hire, tax hiding, and similar criminal activities. Like all get rich quick schemes, the ecosystem is rife with scams and ripoffs. Blockchain activities such as bitcoin mining do nothing but burn up energy, currently a couple percent of all the world’s power, and growing rapidly. When a few big countries outlaw converting cryptocurrencies into actual money, the bubble will burst and the value will go to zero in an hour or so. you know what’s interesting…or at least for me…is the cavs the last three seasons have fallen into a rhythm where they lose their identity and have to regroup to make a push, and yes this year feels different but until the trade deadline when we got JR and Moz THAT year felt hopeless… anyway. all i mean is does anyone else kind of just half expect the cavs, despite every indication to the contrary, to pull it together in time to labor into the finals? So I guess we should assume that Kyrie’s knee is an issue, or he’s a psychopath/petulant child (Dredrick’s Kids). If I were the owner/GM of the Cavs I’d tell him we will trade you for assets that work for us (not to the Celtics for Peter Dinklage, and Trent Richardson’s spent out brother), and then I’d dare him to get knee surgery. If he did get knee surgery, I’d sit him out until his contract expired.
Petulant child sounds right. I’m glad he’s gone, just pissed the Cavs traded him to the Celtics. If they were going to do that, they should have demanded Brown or Tatum. If Ainge balked at that, oh well, screw you.
LeBron’s Team:
Durant
Kyrie
Davis
Cousins
Beal
Oladipo
Love
Westbrook
Portzingas
Wall
Curry’s Team:
Klay
Draymond
Lillard
Embiid
DeRozan
Harden
Butler
Lowry
KAT
Horford
-Prediction: LeBron’s Team wins by 50
I know it’s only the AS game but LeBron’s Team has more top 10 talent. (LeBron, Durant, Westbrook, Davis) is better than (Curry, Harden). If you didn’t get my point, these are the players I consider top ten. You could make arguments for the others, but remember Leonard and Paul have been injured. So that would be 8.
Can someone explain to me why the Cavs can’t have Lebron’s team for the rest of the season?
It’s still LeBron’s Team. But instead of Durant we’ve got Chowdah. And instead of Kyrie we’ve got Peter Dinklage (without Daenerys Targaryen and her Dragons). We also have a useless undersized center whose got Trump-hands standing in for Portzingas. Boogie’s attitude rings through the clubhouse. Davis almost played at Cleveland State but then he grew a foot. Yeah. I’m rambling now…
Actually one of your better posts, Arch!! +1
Ben, just noticed on ESPN that Justin Tucker won the NFL talent competition by singing “Opera” (not really, but it was operatic). For a pro athlete, quite impressive.

Yeah, it’s nice that Tucker shares his voice and operatic singing. Sure, it’s a bit like if someone were to be super exited that I can successfully kick a 25 yarder. Nonetheless, it’s nice to see.
Wow, Buckeyes lose to Penn State on a near half court buzzer beater, but they showed incredible fight on a night when things were not going their way, and PSU was hitting everything…fun to watch them again.
Lebron picked Durant and Kyrie for his team. Guess, it is just the fans that have animosity.
Let the Bron to the Celtics rumors Commence.
He probably just wants to obliterate Curry, Thompson, and Green.
Or we have a shitty owner.

good point arch—so we have THE DRIVE / THE FUMBLE / THE TRADE— “FLEECING
If the Brooklyn pick turns into a top three, it will be a good return. The chances are slimming for that but it is still possible.
Top 10 is still good in this draft, but yeah. Great does not equal good.
Don’t know anything about anyone besides Bagley, Young, Ayton, Bamba, Doncic. Porter is an unknown at this point having not played. I expect those six guys to go in the top 6 or seven. For me only Bagley and Young I would think are sure things, with Bagley being the only guaranteed all star. Doncic will be good. Don’t know how good. Young will be good. Don’t know how good, but he is way ahead of curry at this point in Curry’s college career. Ayton will probably be good. Don’t know if he is for sure all star good, but… Read more »
Doncic, bagley, young are sure things.
I hear you, but there are no sure things.
The no.1 pick has a 70% chance of playing an all-star game. No.2 is at 30% while 3 is at 40%.
Hehe. Those Vegas odds?
They probably are. They are also probably going in the top 3-5 so without luck in the lottery and a top 3…the nets seem to be falling out of the top five worst records. That could change, but it seems they will be somewhere from 7-11.
I doubt they will be completely worthless, but there are no sure things.
Barring injury. LBJ was a sure thing. Anthony was a sure thing in my book. KD was a sure thing. Blake Griffin was a sure thing. AD was a sure thing. Embiid was a sure thing in my opinion of he could stay healthy. In a different era where talent was easier to evaluate due to kids staying in college, everyone knew Duncan, Hakeem, Shaq were sure things. Same with Bird and Johnson, and Jordan. There are sure things. They are just few and far between. You are lucky if one comes out in a draft. My definition of a… Read more »
I actually think Oden would have been a sure thing too.
And as far as next year I feel Bagley and Young are guaranteed to make at least three all star games I’m their careers if healthy. Crazy as it sounds I think Fultz if he ever gets healthy will too.
Will the Brooklyn pick turn to be better than Kyrie, who couldn’t get the Cavs to sniff the playoffs as “The Man”?
Yeah I’m psyched for that Brooklyn pick with this well oil machine /s
Yeah, if they get Bagley or Young. They both have higher ceilings in my opinion and very high floors. A big if. However, it is pretty clear Irving would not play or be toxic for the Cavs this season. Also pretty certain Griffin was the one pushing for the pg trade for Irving that made Irving’s mind to leave. As such, pretty certain even if they had kept Griffin, there was no patching that relationship. That’s if my timeline is correct that the pg thing was well prior to draft night.
That’s “THE FLEECING”. BTW, notice the power of using both lowercase and uppercase!
The Cavs being on the 1 yard line is like the Browns being on the 1 yard line.
Nice crossover…
so here we are again ” at the 1 yard line with shump holding the ball “—-is SAC backing out —or did GRIFF stop the breaks and say-“enough is enough –I am the owner–not LeBron –we are NOW IN REBUILD MODE ‘— ” we are now SELLERS at trade dead line and TRADE ALL THE DEAD WEIGHT “—–IT/ CROWDER / SHUMP / T.T. / IT / ROSE GOTTA GO——-hey I can dream can’t I

Wait, so all Lue did was to bench Jae and start TT??? That’s it??? WTF???????
How is this idiot an NBA head coach?
How’s that even possible?
“You see, you have a massive gun shot wound in your midsection, a broken femur and a massive concussion, so what I’m going to do is offer you a pack of Band-Aids, some Tylenol and a lollipop. That will make it all better.”
—If Ty Lue was an ER doctor.
Dude’s an F’ing idiot.
Exactly my thoughts. It is like replacing taking the 11th best player out of the starting lineup, and replacing him with the 12th best.
IT is not going anywhere. No one will take him for anything. No one wants to work with the Cavs to help them, and korby has zero clout as a GM at the moment. The only thing teams are hapoy to help the cavs do around the league is implode, and the best way for that to happen was to sit back and let Danny Ainge send in the torpedos
The cavs should be trying to find a team that is dumping salary who is going to buyout filler pieces in a trade and try to offer IT as the filler/buyout fodder. Only way any team trades for him is if they are getting another piece in addition to IT’s salary dump.
Don’t tell Scotch, but many GM’s actually try to better their own team, not just screw the Cavs. And, expiring contracts have value.
To some extent they do, but since his contract isn’t big and therefore offers little cap relief no one is taking IT’s expiring contract without another big piece from the cavs, e.g. the cavs first round pick and probably Frye’s expiring contract, and maybe another filler piece/osman.
If TT starting means Frye (or Love) at C with the second unit, then this could help. I mean, it cannot get any worse.
So why do people think the sac trade isn’t going through? Obviously Frye playing 15-20 minutes a night would help the bench a ton, but does anyone think Frye is going to actually play?
I have to believe that IT remains a starter to showcase him to other teams and up his trading value.
That likely will have the opposite effect though. They will just see the truth.
He is a UFA at season’s end. Little value. See what I did there.
Does anyone think the necessary step of cutting IT will happen if he can’t be traded? Are Dan Gilbert and the cavs Front office strong enough to swallow their pride and make the correct basketball decision by jettisoning a guy who will from now on be a liability on the court and cancer off it? Finally, how bad does it get before they go this route? I would hope that it won’t take them more than another 15 games before IT is gone one way or another. I don’t think it will be much sooner though because swallowing as big… Read more »
No way in hell are they cutting the ‘all star’ PG they got in their awesome Kyrie trade…
Do you know something, or are you just trolling?
I think sarcasm.
Do I know something? I know they are not cutting IT, which is what I posted…
I have no doubt they would prefer he worked out. At some point they will either have to bench him completely which will likely turn him toxic, buy him out, or find some chump that is dumping salary who is willing to take on his contract for another piece.
IT has value as an expiring contract. Only a fool would cut him.
You can’t play him though. I mean what team are dumping salaries. If he is just filler, why not throw him in the sac trade instead of Frye?
Basically the only teams that will take him are those dumping salaries. He is done as nba player I think. I am guessing most of the league realizes that.

Watch them Lose to Cavs. Bailing to LA is a possibility
Or NY to play with Portzingas! Maybe Danny can fleece the Knicks too. They’re susceptible to snake oil salesmen.
Random thought: Tyronn Lue the coach would not have played Tyronn Lue the player.
That’s some wisdom there!
Like Jack Handy’s Deep Thoughts.
I think Lue recites Jack Handy’s deep thoughts in time outs
You uncovered his secret!
Funny. I wouldn’t either. He was terrible and had zero to offer other than effort. At least Delly could hit some open shots and run an offense in addition to pestering guys.

LA. Both of those guys are somehow worse than Lonzo alone. That is saying something since he couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn with his shot. At least he can run an offense though and play defense.
Danny Leroux discussed in an article how it would make sense for the Cavs to go after Caldwell-Pope and Noel, if both of their teams should buy them out. For buyout candidates why not. Plus we’ve got a lot of dead weight on this roster, that we need to shed.

Monday’s airing of grievances is still paying dividends!
Trump-hands Thompson is sounding off today!
THT! I love it.
Figured the lineup change would be minimal…lets hope JR gets short leash and either Korver or Cedi step in for longer minutes. With Hill trade much farther apart, be interesting if Cavs have any other plans. Maybe starting TT will drive trade value if he plays decent over next 2-3 games
Is there any sort of justification for keeping JR in the lineup? I simply don’t understand why Cedi wouldn’t be given a shot. JR gives NOTHING on the court. He’s absolutely atrocious.
Showcase
I think JR Smith was atrocious at this point last year too before doing well in playoffs. May be that is what Lue/Lebron hoping for.
AGREE MIKE P —on your / our feelings on that STEAL OF A TRADE —-this will set cavs back quite a few years —-mentioned yesterday –although not a fan of “flatliner ky “–it is still going to hurt like hell watching him demonstrate his HOF skills in a Celtics uniform while we are left with nothing but despise / hatred towards DE-R-AINGED
so now that T.T. starts we are guaranteed back to the finals –correct ?—-“don’t bet your “bitcoin ” on it —-and yeah wtf–why is swish still starting ( in that regards even given any quality minutes )— way to keep those “young guys ” cedi / ante motivated / grooming them to be assets —-guess HOF coach popovich doesn’t know what he is doing —-GEEZ!!!
Crowder and IT both played a lot better for Stevens. I’d say the offensive scheme the Celtics had was better for Crowder, and that the overall superior team D was better for IT.
Liu played JR last year a lot in the mid-season doldrums when he was struggling, and he eventually rounded into shape. So I imagine he’s expecting the same thing to happen this year.
I know this won’t happen but it would be nice to try this starting line up:
IT
Cedi
TT
Love
LBJ
It should help the Cavs defensively and rebounding the ball too.
Is It playing? Then it’s not going to work
Lue’s decision to bench Crowder and play him with the second unit is good. Frye will definitely get playing time now, and maybe for a long while with the Hill doing looking like a longer shot. I still can’t fathom how Lue justifies keeping JR in the starting lineup. A few more bad performances from Swish, and he just has to be the next one to go to the second unit. Many of us have used the word “fleeced” to describe the Irving trade. Need to review the thesaurus for a harsher word given the state of that deal: IT… Read more »
Which they won’t because the Cavaliers can’t draft well. The only draft success they’ve had is basically lucking into Bron and Irving.
No one has suggested a better trade that was available. KI’s holdout stunt + the flat earth stuff cut his value because then everyone knew he is was a head case.
I didn’t see the press conference with Lue, but Fred McLeod tweeted that Frye would see more rotational minutes. I wonder who gets left out of the rotation between Frye, Crowder, Wade, Rose, Green, Shump, and Korver. Maybe Rose or Shump? Obviously, Lue has no problem benching Calderon and Osman, so they’re already out.
This is probably a pointless question since we assume a bunch of these guys will be gone within two weeks.
Defensively, Hill is the ninth-worst defender in the NBA this year among players who’ve played at least 20 games (the Kings give up 113.1 points per 100 possessions with him on the court). And, for now, anyway, the Kings are actually worse defensively than the Cavs.
Definitely not appealing if you ask me ?
I hope both of you guys are right. I just want the Cavs to get better defensively just to give themselves a better chance to win games.
Holland looked really good in the Kings game I covered. Probably auditioning
Hill I mean
The Kings suck. I take nothing from this.
He’s not been great this season, but a lot of it may just be the Kings (although the Kings have been better than the Cavs post Christmas)…he’s unhappy there, and he probably doesn’t give much of a crap. If he goes to the Cavs, he’s instantly their best guard by miles, even if he’s fallen off a lot defensively…
Plus, raw lineup pm can’t be looked at in a vacuum.
So what if the Cavs got wind that Hill was gonna be bought out? Obviously very “hypothetical” but if the Kings don’t get anything done, they’ve said they want to buy him out, I bet Hill would sign with Cavs. Don’t know if this is a real possibility, but we may be able to use the 2nd rounder or Frye (would rather keep him) on a different deal for a 3rd big for rim protection?
I don’t think we are all that appealing of an option for buyouts right now…

Whoops
So even less offense and just as bad d? I don’t think Lue is going to survive the season.
To be honest, it doesn’t matter for whom the Cavs trade now (considering who’s available) they still will not be able to compete against the Warriors. So it will be better if they just keep the Nets pick and if they’re going to make some trades it better be for some young solid players. It’s almost sure that LeBron will be gone at the end of the season anyways.
Being reported that Sac and Cavs ‘far apart’ on Hill trade, whatever that means.

Great article, as always. I definitely needed more than 9 hours to wrap my head around Cryptocurrency. Bravo.
Kind of what I expected:

My wish list ??
It had to be done, I knew the KLove at center project wouldn’t work.
well done as usual ben—-you seem to connect very well with the ” central nerve here at ctb “—-with you on channing–if anyone had a valid reason to be a “malcontent ” in the locker room it was channing —-count me in on larry nance jr –a “high flyer and a high class guy ” just like the ol man —-blow this mess up—go get more young guys like nance and maybe watching the cavs ( I am not at present ) can be fun / enjoyable again
The Cavs need their own Internet of Things department. Heck maybe they already have one, but they are buried in the basement with the stat geeks. This IoT department well help to solve their problems by installing sensors that detect hazards and inefficiencies, and quickly realize that the IT department isn’t function well, and quickly move to resolve it, by selling it Tianjin, China.
Definitely with you on Frye. Immensely frustrating to see him nailed to the bench when he has been part of the most successful Cavs lineups. Thunder look like a great fit as you say, Lowe and Windhorst also mentioned the Warriors, which would be amusing.
I agree. The Thunder would be a great fit. I thought maybe he’d pick Portland, since he lives there in the off-season.
LOL…

Superb.
It pains me to write this, but the JR impression was too kind. He should have fumbled the ball away.
Thanks for sharing ??
