After more than a week of no NBA basketball in Cleveland, the new-look Cavaliers return to action. The last time we saw these Cavs play they just finished off a convincing four game win streak which saw them beat the T-Wolves, the Celtics, and the Thunder. The last game against OKC was a pretty thrilling and convincing test for the new team before they were forced to pump the breaks and head into the all-star break. It will be interesting to watch the continued growth of George Hill, Rodney Hood, Jordan Clarkson, and Larry Nance Jr. as they progress toward the playoffs.
The Wizards and Cavs haven’t met since December 17th. The game resulted in a 106-99 Cavs victory. Before General Manager Koby Altman had his official coming out party at the trade deadline, that game likely represented the last time Cleveland was playing good, sustained basketball. Luckily, Washington will have to face off against a whole new squad and a rejuvenated LeBron James. The King and his Knights of the Round Orange Ball will look to continue the success they had going into the break. If James’s play during the All-Star game was any indication and with John Wall still out with injury, they shouldn’t have any trouble maintaining their mojo. Go Cavs!

Amazing the Wizards are still in playoff contention, other than Beal who is hitting any consistent shots on that team
Pretty great contests. Cavs so much more physical near the bucket now. Team rebounding has been solid.

22 points for the Bullets for the quarter…missed a lot of shots, but they got a ton of offensive boards, too…outside of a few blown assignments, pretty good defense by Cavs…way more effort from everyone since the trade deadline…

With all of the blatant tanking going on, I see no way that the Nets pick is going to end up very high. I’d guess that the percentage it’s going to slot at 7 or 8 at 75%, and 5 or higher at 0 %. Of course even if the Cavs slot at 7, 8, or even 9 they can still get lucky and win or place top 3 in the drawing. However watching some of these teams give up…
And btw, these teams should be tanking. There’s a legit 7 or so potential stars, and no one wants the 10th pick in such a draft. The Nets, unfortunately are a scrappy team, and will soon be getting RHJ and Levert back, while other teams are DNPing starters. Sheesh.
If the cavs end up with a top 7 pick I will be happy. The only guys I have questions about are Young, Porter jr, and Bamba because of how raw he is. Still, I didn’t expect to be in the running for even guys like them.
