Live Thread: Cavs @ Wolves (#ColdLikeMinnesota)
2019-12-28It may not be as frigid as usual this time of year in the land of many lakes, as the Cavaliers visit the Target Center in Minneapolis tonight. However, opponents don’t come too much colder than the Minnesota Timberwolves, who finally won a game in December after nipping the Sacramento Kings in double OT on Thursday 105-104. That ended an 11 game skid for the Wolves, and was the fifth game in a row missed by star center Karl-Anthony Towns.
KAT is questionable for this one, though Gorgui Dieng has been filling in admirably for the injured big man. Meanwhile, the Cavs are playing the second night of a long-distance back-to-back, after the first night brought an end to their season-high three game winning streak. Despite the decisive loss in Boston to the Celtics, Cleveland showed some fight in the end by cutting the lead down to single digits in the fourth quarter. Also, it was a big game for former Minnesota star, Kevin Love, who scored 30 with six boards and four assists.
Tonight will be the next chapter in the Love for Andrew Wiggins swap, as both look to lead their teams to a W with some stone cold shooting… though Wiggins may not play either with the flu.
Prediction: The Cavs show the Wolves they need to stay up off those streets if they can’t take the heat, and keep things cold like Minnesota… freezing out the Wolves 112-107.
Catch all the action starting at 8pm EST on FSO, and as always chill out with us here in the comments…
15 turnovers… and counting…
Garland should’ve just shot that
This is some god-awful shot selection by the Cavs the last two minutes…
Larry looked like he blew a tire on that D…
This game is ragged
NBA needs to go to alternating jump ball.
Who watches an NBA game and says “we need more jump balls”
Use the glass young bull…
great spin move TT
Wow. I love Cleveland.
He MADE Santa PAY…
Lol.
Young Bull bulling his way to the rim
Cedi shoulda shot that…

There was a nice period in November when Cavs hardly turned the ball over at all…sigh.
Just the sloppiest freaking dribbling. TT playing way too loose. Need to tell them to stop putting it on the floor when they don’t have to.
13 turnovers… baker’s dozen…
Henson walks like he’s 64
Greg Oden-itis…
Henson is very useful…
Vonleh playing well…
FA this offseason… along with a few young big guys.
Damn. Henson with a great pass. Kpj so good without the ball.
Porter hammered on that turnover. No call.
He’s pissed about it
True… and he did look like he tied the dude up after on what should have been a jump ball…
What a touch pass by Henson to KPJ!
Once KPJ cleans up the turnovers…
Kpj is so fun to watch. Might save their 2020 draft
Just imagine him playing next to Culver and Clarke…
That’s just mean.
Tough call on KPJ there… ball don’t lie tho…
Someone electrocute Garland every time he takes that free throw line j with 20 seconds on the clock.
I think we still have some of those microchips left over from last Christmas…
Exum with a great first step on that drive…
Smooth drive, that’s the rook I remember
great read… defender didn’t wanna defend him.
Wolves 1-8 from deep…
Kpj’s court awareness for a rookie is impressive
In other news… JK Dobbins is awesome
Porter with a pass so good he surprised McKinnie
great read KPJ
Sexton must lead the league in rebounding his own miss… At least for guards.
Henson the long arm of the law!

Nice move by Exum on the baseline…
yup nice little floater there!
Exum has some burst.
Hopefully his knee doesn’t…
Ouch.
Exum on the board…

Minny commentators v bullish on Sexton’s future, raving about work ethic, culture etc.
noticed that too… nice to get outside perspectives.
Maybe they’d trade him straight up for Culver…
Much higher on Porter personally
That won’t count.
That really didn’t look like it beat the buzzer…
Six turnovers in the first quarter… ugh
Porter has the best handle on the team.
Turns it over twice as if on queue. 3 in a row
Sexton closes out at a terrible angle and okogie goes to the line.
Henson was right there with the potential block too…
KPJ gotta learn to take care of the ball…
Sexton with the one man full court press…
Someone tell my folks not to call during the Cavs game. Back now. Cavs beating the minny scrubs.
Lol
Great two man game by Delly and TT…
Championship chemistry
That’s right
That was some FT by TT… around the rim twice and almost out then in…
LMFAOOO
Oy, would be nice to see a Delly trey fall…
I like seein Nance attack from the post.
KPG looking assured.
Delly to TT alley oop!
Nice slashing bucket by Cedi…
Offense is humming right now.
Beilein taking out Sexton for Delly early is a new move. interesting.
Maybe he saw what we did with how much the second unit struggled to score yesterday…
good point i agree… it’s going to give Sexton more on-ball PG duties I think.
Remember when everyone was saying nobody should have #23 anymore in deference to MJ? Whatever happened to that?
Surprised you have a bad feeling about OSU EG, although Fields’ knee is definitely a problem for them.
They really didn’t look good in the first half against Wisconsin…
ahh, gotcha, didn’t catch that game.
Double step-back for Napier on that three… uncalled
yeah def a travel
Like the Cavs aggressiveness on offense…
Warming up to LNJ’s three game…
There we go EG!!! I like where he’s headed.
Nice Garland rainbow!
He does launch it high!
These Wolves unis are hard on the eyes…
I don’t think TT was expecting that early Sexton pass… lol
Will get to see Jarrett Culver…
This might be a pretty rough game actually…
No Love either…
No KAT or Wig for the Wolves…
I will watch OSU but do some flipping (so many commercials in football), and keep the Cavs on my phone.
And I undersold Minny’s losing streak by 2.
Lonely island for me and the Cavs tonight.
I’ll be watching the Cavs… I’ve got a bad feeling about OSU…
It’s just football… :)
Enjoy the OSU game…
Gonna be watching Ohio State, but good luck to the Cavs…watch Wiggy go for 50 in his endless ‘revenge tour’ against the Cavs…get a life, dude…
Well, more focused on CFB & OSU tonight. Watching the LSU/OU game, I am excited for next year as a Bengals fan. Burrow is off the charts good.
As for the Cavs, winnable game. Minny had lost 9 in a row before winning their last one. Only 2 wins up on us after a nice start.
