Live Thread: Cavs vs Magic
2024-02-22Good Evening, Cavs Fans! Welcome back to CtB as the Cavs host the Orlando Magic tonight and try to maintain their status as the hottest team in the association. I do have to apologize for the lack of content in the last week. I, personally, have had the never ending cough, and now my daughters have it, and I have a sick dog too. The worst part: I’ve had SO MUCH I’VE WANTED TO WRITE. The NBA All-Star game was a mess, the entire Association is still sleeping on the Cavs, and I even got to watch a Charge game in West Michigan.
For now, we’ll have to watch our favorite team from a position they’ve struggled in the last couple seasons: after a hot first 3/5 of the season, will the Cavs fade going into the playoffs like they have the last two seasons? I say no! Unlike years past, this team needed a week off to fight fatigue and for Mobley and Garland to progress towards post full-injury health. On that front, only Ty Jerome is nursing an injury, while Donovan Mitchell is questionable with an Illness (though he attended shoot-around). As long as Jarrett Allen didn’t spend the week on the couch, the Cavs should be good.
For the Magic, Paolo Banchero is also nursing the Indianapopox, while Markelle Fultz remains out with a knee injury. Focus will be key against a 30-25 Magic squad that wants to stay in the playoff picture, and who match the Cavs’ length pretty consistently. It should be a fun second half of the season! Go Cavs!
I am annoyed by this team’s attitude.
Need to take revenge on Philly tomorrow.
Garland jumped up to 4 turnovers. I think the turnovers (by the team) was the reason for the loss.
Magic force a ton of turnovers and played some really huge lineups (think they had Isaac at the 2 for much of the 4th).
Got hosed by a hot shooting team and a late scratch of our best player. On to Philly, try not to doom

I can’t say it surprises me that a Darius Garland led team had so many turnovers. I’m so bummed Mitchell got ill for this game, its night and day with him vs Garland
I feel like he’s better than he’s been but certainly not at Mitchell’s level nor do I expect him to ever be. I’d like to see him shoot more 3’s. He was 3 of 5 tonight.
Looks like we are back to October/November form. Maybe they can get hot by the time mid April rolls around.

Playing garland when he is tired all the way to end of quarter is foolish. Why not play porter and give garland some rest
