Live Thread: Cavs @ Bulls

LeBron James is to the Chicago Bulls, what Michael Jordan was to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Those Price-era Cavs teams played cohesive team basketball, but the song remained the same every year as they had no match for a generational talent like Jordan. Believe me, there’s plenty of aspects to LeBron’s career, and his Magic 8-Ball personality that you can criticize, but he has absolutely owned the Bulls. A LeBron led team has booted the Bulls from the playoffs in four of the past six seasons.
On the surface, this is a meaningless game. The Raptors aren’t going to catch the Cavs for the top seed in the conference, and the Bulls aren’t going to catch the Pacers for the last. A Cavs win, will lock both of those scenarios though, and could end the Rose-era Bulls run years before we would have expected.
Tonight’s showdown airs at 8:30 on ABC. Let’s dish.

I think the Warriors chasing of the record is seriously distracting them from the playoffs. They really are choking this record away against terrible teams. Almost like they choked up the Finals up against a much less team. I still question their mental fortitude under pressure. Their talent is undeniable. My take, shaped by 50 years of Cleveland fandom, is that the Warriors are slumping too soon. This wasn’t supposed to happen until the Finals!
I think you’re silly. Respect the hell out of the Warriors for going for all time excellence. I don’t know how you can call them mentally weak either with 70 wins and the amount of noise around them.
I realize you’re trying to talk yourself into the Cavs having a chance, but I want the Cavs to match their excellence. That won’t take anything away from the Dubs even when Cleveland wins.
