Live Thread: Cavs @ Pacers, 11/16/16
2016-11-16
This Wednesday night, in their second back-to-back of the season, the Cavs will be traveling one state to the left to play the first of four contests against the Central Division rival Indiana Pacers. Sporting a 5-6 record, the Pacers are looking to climb up to .500 as they set their sights on a second consecutive playoff berth after finishing as the 7th seed last year. Tonight’s 7:00 EST game could very well be a preview of an early-round matchup for the Cavs in the 2016-17 playoffs, so be sure to tune in!
Unfortunately for viewers, it appears that coach Lue has decided to give LeBron James his first bit of rest this season, as LeBron will reportedly be sitting this one out as a healthy scratch. Gotta keep an eye on the finish line, right? In addition to James, Cleveland’s JR Smith will sit out a third straight game nursing an ailing ankle. This will be an important test for the defending champs as they continue to build their identity when playing without LeBron — the Cavs are 4-15 in games sans the King since he made his return two seasons ago. It will be interesting to see if the Cavs’ Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love can lead the team to what a tough road victory against what figures to be a strong Pacers squad.
On the Pacers’ side, backup PG Rodney Stuckey has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury that has kept him from playing for the better part of a month. Indiana is currently 5-1 at home. The Pacers’ Paul George leads the team in scoring at 21.0 PPG. After missing most of the 2014-15 season with an injury, George returned to the fold last year to reclaim his status as a legit 2-way superstar, and he has continued to excel in this young season as well. Cavs fans will also see a familiar face starting at PG for the Pacers — former Hawk Jeff Teague, who was brought to Indiana from Atlanta during the offseason. The Cavs will have their hands full trying to contain this new-look Pacers crew at less than full strength.
Should be good one. Go Cavs!
Glad I missed this one. Only so much Mamba I can stand – whether it be black or orange.
They sort of played that one like they weren’t planning on winning. Lots of bench minutes handed out. No need to stretch ourselves on the second night of a b2b.
Hard to win when you shoot 40% and give up 50%… At least Cavs still hit 10+ threes again… and nobody got hurt…
KSHRIMP to JAMES FREAKING JONES!!
Dead legs… no shooting… see you in Detroit
Pacers not really missing this quarter….
Was that only not called a foul because it was Liggins driving?
Kevin Love… man’s game

Hey Teague… you fell for it…

The JFJ special
I can’t believe Jordan McRae has an NBA championship ring.
I can’t believe Dahntay Jones does…
MFQ!
STudies in efficiency: Felder 8 points on 4 shots. McRae 9 points on 12 shots.
I can’t believe this is only a 6 point game. Seems like we should be getting killed.
Mamba deserves credit for recovering from that dunk try to hit the corner three…
When that’s what you’re getting credit for, it’s a bad night.
Damn, Frye, that was nearly 30 feet.
Would like to see some MFQ action.
The Canton Charge are on the floor right now.

Well, Tristan did have that great dunk tonight.
He hit that three just to make me look bad.
Even he seemed surprised he made it…
Mamba hit a three!
McRae is -13 in 15 minutes. That is poor.
Correction. -15 in 15 minutes. He’s bleeding a point a minute.
Orange Mamba
4A McRae. For absolutely no good reason, I’m hating on McRae this year.
The Cavs have to play him to see if there’s anything there for trading
I’d rather the other teams be forced to value him on his Dleague work.
We’re getting the looks, we just can’t put it through the hoop.
Wonder if it can be a 20-20 night for Love?
30-20
McRae on the Court. Ill advised shot in 3..2..1
If the wide open Channing Frye triples don’t go down… it ain’t their night…
Frye is over thirty. B2b legs = off on 3pointers.
Like I said… ain’t their night…
Love coming for Steph. Put up 9 threes so far tonight.
