Live Thread: Cavs @ Pistons (#Bandages)
2017-11-20The Cavs head back out on the road again tonight to the Motor City after a quick pit stop last Friday at home in an overtime thriller against the Clippers. They’re down yet another rotation piece with Iman Shumpert now set to miss about a week with a sore knee. However, LeBron maintains that the team has enough healthy members to keep things going…
“It’s good to know that we have depth,” James said after today’s shootaround. “It’s very difficult and it’s very challenging not only on the guys that’s on the court but on the coaching staff, trying to figure out. Sometimes you get a rhythm and then another guy goes down, so, that’s what we’re here for. We have the depth to be able to try to bandage it up until we can all become full.”
Let’s hope he’s right about that. Who knows, maybe Coach Lue will even let newcomers Cedi Osman and John Holland (just called up from the Charge to swap seats with Ante Zizic) assist with the triage. They’ll most likely need something if interim starting PG Jose Calderon makes a mess of the first quarter. Still, the Cavs have managed to win four in a row and five of their last six even with the dwindling numbers of able bodies lost to the MASH unit. They’ve also been better on the road (5-3) than at home (4-4) and seem to get up for tougher opponents. The Pistons are a surprising 11-5 on the year, although they are playing on the second night of a back-to-back following a tight victory over the Timberwolves.
I haven’t made a prediction to date this year, but I’ll go out on a limb here and say the Cavs dig deep into their first aid kit and patch together an impressive win over the tired Pistons tonight… 112-108.
Catch all the action on FSO starting at 7pm EST, and don’t forget to share your views here on the live thread…
GO CAVS!
Get a shot for someone not Jeff Green.
And he hit one!
Hopefully Charlotte holds on. Pull ahead of the Nets in the W column.
Jeff Green is taking a lot of shots…
GET SET UP FOR YOUR ATTACK RUN
Use the Force, Cedi…
Does the square count?
Absolutely
Probably good that Jose checked back in for DWade…
I have to eat some crow tonight. Thought Drummond & Jackson would feast tonight.
At least it’ll be tasty crow…
Delicious.
Get this holland guy bucket and every cav will score
Interesting…

I think Fred loves saying Cedi Osman’s name
Cedi with the hustle.
Hey! Isn’t that NOMAD’S man Moreland??
That’s what I was thinking
Holland Tunnel in the game!
Vintage Wade… just hanging in the air on that rebound…
Man… Channing looked great on that dribble drive…
lol is that real? what’s the story behind that?
He dressed up like a Jedi for a dunk contest in Turkey last year…
So he has hops?!! Nice.
Wouldn’t mind seeing Holland for DWade soon… gotta keep him fresh…
Wade is still such a smart player. He’s a rhythm guy that needs the ball in his hands but come playoffs, I hope he has his role figured out with the second unit.
Love 19, James & Crowder 18, Calderon 12. JR only 3 but with a nice floor game. All the starters +20 or more.
Wade, Frye, & Korver all with 8. Green with 6. Could end with 8 guys in double figures.
Does this winning streak coincide with DRose being out?
Hope that ankle is very very slow to heal. Calderon looks like Magic Johnson in comparison tonight
let’s crack 100 before end!
Nomad, have to remind you that pre game you had Drummond going for 30/20 and Jackson with 35. Glad you were wrong !
Wade to Green is reminiscent of Delly to TT…
Alright. Unless Lue completely panics if it gets to within 15, no reason to see James play more than 27 minutes this game.
That’s awesome.
my favorite play of the quarter was actually the one that ended with the bricked JR corner 3 that went behind the glass. anyone see LeBron catching in space off ball? coulda scored himself and at least 3 shooters were uncoverable with the defense frantically trying to deal with LeBron 8 feet from the hoop catching the ball
Team is killing it tonite fun to watch full potential…they are doing this without half the team
Wade, Korver, Cedi, Green, Frye. With Zizic in Canton I think Holland is the only other guy we have.
Vintage Wade…
what am I watching????
The Cavs
Hahaha
Cedi in up 37.
Should be Cedi the rest of the way barring a huge comeback…
Cedi in= cavs the blog is happy
A quick 3 and 2 rebounds. Dude’s an all star ;)
Release the force of the Jedi!
Lets bust a 40!
Hockey line change from Coach Lue…
This should help the team scoring stat disparity…
Calderon playing great..not doing too much and bringing tons of energy…good to see
This is clinic by cavs…reminds me of ecf last year

Hard to believe Calderon makes this much difference, but he does. MVP imo.
I cannot believe how well the D has played. Not much penetration. That has really helped us on the glass. Calderon is a pass first guy who can shoot.
Love has gotten the better of Andre Drummond…

windy would like nothing more than to cast a side eye at all the Celtics love
Great energy and offense.
Insane pass + catch & finish from Love & James there. Man, we really look good.
Think SVG waves the white flag?
“zz’ down in canton—-but yeah free cedi
Crowder warming up.
That LBJ pass!
This is a bloodbath
Hey 30 point lead and still playing the starting five.
coach Lue literally have no reasons to play them atm.
GIVE CEDI AND ANTE SOME BURN DAMMIT!!!
Chill bro… it’s only halfway through the third…
I just realized ZZ is on Canton.
But no. I don’t trust coach Lue on this one.
James’ jumper no longer wet. We need to feed Love in the post.
would like to see crowder get 20 + pts —get him going
me too!
Is the Jay-Z concert the new bowling trip?
Calderon took the fork out for one night at least – he looked great
senor jose says ” put that fork away
Nice job so far by Calderon. Still such a smart player.
first guy since Delly to use the foul to give to snuff out a potential transition bucket
I saw D Wade do that a couple of games ago fwiw…
The spacing, man movement, ball movement, & shooting are off the charts. Everyone is eating tonight.
leo I will pay up on my bet now
Haha no sweat sir…this team just tests patience

Remember when Stanley Johnson was supposed to be the next great LeBron “stopper”?
