Live Thread: Cavs @ Clippers

The Cavs are spending a few days in L.A. The team joining them for tonight’s late night party? The Clippers. The Clips will be without Avery Bradley while the Cavs are still sans Love and Tristan Thompson. The Clips are 6-4 in their last ten, and are getting contributions from their developing cast of young players.
While Lou Williams would seem to be the key to the Clips’ bench, third year man Montrezl Harrell has been putting up monster numbers in limited minutes. Montrezl is posting a monster PER of 24.6 this year and is scoring 19 points in 23 minutes a game over last five games, to go along with 4.6 rebounds. Austin Rivers has been dropping almost sixteeen a game and shooting 43%/40%/64% this year. Doc’s kid is no longer a scrub.
Danilo Gallinari and Tobias Harris round out a solid set of forwards for the Clips who are currently sitting at eighth in the West after the Cavs displaced the Nuggets on Wednesday. Just behind them are the Jazz. Just two games separate the 5th and 10th seeds. Every game counts out west.
Meanwhile, the recruiting session starts out in Cleveland for LeBron James who has downplayed the stories of his impending free agency. Still, we all know he’ll be putting on a show for two nights in the Staples Center. Let’s go Cavs.
Didn’t catch the game but from the comments it seems as if it was a mixture of Green trying to be a shooter and Lue being Lue. Amazing how stupid they both are sometimes.
I also read that Zz played good. His stats show 4pts and 2reb in 8 minutes. And then he doesn’t see the floor again… Can’t wait to see him play for Popovich. He’ll be a poor man’s Paul Gasol.
Well… my phone reception sucked for most of the game… but I got some cool pix… I also caught a t-shirt from the t-shirt gun… but I threw it at Jeff Green in disgust…
Jeff Green has transformed back into Jeff Green. He should be defending and dunking, and nothing else.

So, for about five minutes, Zizic looks like an NBA player for the first time in his career and is scoring at will inside.
Lue’s response is to pull him and put in Jeff Green at center… who then goes 0-27 on wide open 3s and gets eaten alive on defense. Because going small is definitely the way to counteract DeAndre Jordan.
Zizic never sees the court again.
Lue is approaching Mike Brown levels of terrible lineup managment.
On the bright side, LNJ had his worst game yet as a Cav and still was sublime.
Yep. +1 forever to all your points. I’m pretty tired of Jeff Green, which is a sentiment almost every fanbase in the NBA can share…
Cavs could have won this one if not for that embarrassing first quarter…not going to beat anyone with a first quarter like that…
Why do I get a feeling that Lue gave this one to Doc Rivers so the Clippers can hang on to that 8th spot over The Nuggets which just won against the Lakers earlier.
Jeff Green with by far game best +/- of +8. Ty Lue, excellent analytics follower that he is, clearly reading the data and making the right decisions. Ty Lue is light years ahead.
I know he left with a hip injury, but if healthy I’d be fine with Cedi getting all of Green’s minutes…but Lue lurves Green, so that won’t happen…

Feels like very few fast breaks for Cavs tonight. Green seems at his best flowing down the court. I think he would have scored more points if he just ran at several defenders & tried to dunk each time instead of jacking 3s. They mess up occasionally & he’d at least get a few FTs. How many 3s has he missed tonight?
Why isn’t Korver in instead of green. Yezus Jeff’s awful tonight. He’s turning into low rent Josh Smith.
