Live Thread: Cavs @ Bulls

The Cavalier express pulls into Chitown tonight, and it’s full of injured Cavs. Out of the lineup tonight: Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Rodney Hood, Kyle Korver (family issue), Cedi Osman, and Larry Nance. Laurie Markkanen is out for the Bulls, and Denzel Valentine moves into the starting lineup. For the Cavs, Jose Calderon is starting for Kyle Korver. Let’s hope we see a more aggressive George Hill at the two spot. The Cavs are only dressing nine, so keeping everyone fresh will be key.
Look for a nice game from Jose Calderon and hopefully a bounce back game for Hill and Green. The Bulls are in full on tank mode, but the Cavs are trying to sweep the season series. I’m picking the Cavs in this one: 112-105.

The fact that Ante only got 20 minutes still makes me mad. Jeff Green had a great block late, but Ante is actually a useful defender. There’s enough of a sample size now. He’s a useful player. When he is your ONLY big guy…maybe 25-28 minutes is ok

I have said this before, but I was totally wrong about Calderon. He’s a decent PG, even now, on a Lebron team. Not going to help you beat the Warriors, but he’s a pro and he won’t help you lose.
Ante got 14 pts, 6 rebs and 1 blk in about 20 minutes. What else he need to do to get more PT when the guys get back?

Not sure why Calderon doesn’t get like 5-7 min a game…Hill is in some weird funk and JR blows…at least get some steady guard play from someone who won’t turn it over…granted he kinda stinks on defense, but not like anyone else is a world beater on that end of floor. Also Zicic needs to get about 15/game….he’s surprised me big time…thought he was another Euro stiff white guy, but has shown great athleticism and plays well with Lebron.

Denzel Valentine cracks me up….dude has game of his life…guarantee we never hear from him again hahaha…even without 60% of roster, Cavs dug in deep and made it a game. Bulls hit lot of crazy 3s from random dudes….nice work by Clarkson, Green, Lebron, Calderon, and Zicic….3-3 on road trip….I’ll take it

Great season…really good game tonight, just dug themselves too deep a hole early, but still were in position to win with around 5 minutes left…Will be interesting to see what kind of pro KBD will be. He’s a really good shooter, but it’s so hard to say at his size.
KBD may be right fit in like Houston, SA, or GS, he’ll thrive in open court basketball, but will struggle with average to shitty team in which he has to create his shot consistently…probably late 1st rounder or early second rounder
Love to see him go to Spurs…
I think he’ll be a mid to late first rounder, and the Spurs probably have a shot at him if they want.
