Live Thread: Cavs @ Wolves (#ColdLikeMinnesota)
2019-12-28It may not be as frigid as usual this time of year in the land of many lakes, as the Cavaliers visit the Target Center in Minneapolis tonight. However, opponents don’t come too much colder than the Minnesota Timberwolves, who finally won a game in December after nipping the Sacramento Kings in double OT on Thursday 105-104. That ended an 11 game skid for the Wolves, and was the fifth game in a row missed by star center Karl-Anthony Towns.
KAT is questionable for this one, though Gorgui Dieng has been filling in admirably for the injured big man. Meanwhile, the Cavs are playing the second night of a long-distance back-to-back, after the first night brought an end to their season-high three game winning streak. Despite the decisive loss in Boston to the Celtics, Cleveland showed some fight in the end by cutting the lead down to single digits in the fourth quarter. Also, it was a big game for former Minnesota star, Kevin Love, who scored 30 with six boards and four assists.
Tonight will be the next chapter in the Love for Andrew Wiggins swap, as both look to lead their teams to a W with some stone cold shooting… though Wiggins may not play either with the flu.
Prediction: The Cavs show the Wolves they need to stay up off those streets if they can’t take the heat, and keep things cold like Minnesota… freezing out the Wolves 112-107.
Catch all the action starting at 8pm EST on FSO, and as always chill out with us here in the comments…
WOW NICE MOVE EXUM!
ooh, tricky spin move, dante.
Yeah that was nifty!

Porter looks like he has energy bottled up, wants to stomp on someone
Teague waltzes down the right side twice in a row.
that KPJ’s shot!
Argh. Cavs so bad at defending the “Get it back” basket.”
Garland to Henson!
Garland with a sweet feed to Henson!
Layup line for Wolves tho…
Dorothy to the Muppet!
“ If you love offense, this has not been the game for you” lol. Quite like these commentators.
Bad drive by KPJ…
Cavs win the quarter, 18-17.
I’m on board with the Dante Exum experience so far.
Solid D on that last possession… 13-6 run by Cavs to close it…
Porter Bailed out because he should’ve shot instead of passing.
Cavs also been turrible at the line tonight…
I like how Garland’s bouncing back from a horrible game last night.
And a horrible first half, really. At least turnover wise.
He was a team high +16 in the first IIRC
Great first step by KPJ…
Garland Balling. Sweet finish.
Garland bailing Cavs out with some timely buckets…
Nice steal Exum!
Sweet feed by Darius, though.
it looked like Cedi just blew that dunk.
Oooweeee garland sick pass
WOW… that behind the back pass on the break by Garland… I wish Cedi had finished the dunk…
OMG WHAT A PASS!!!!!!!
we are the most die-hard Cavs fans no doubt LMFAOOOOOO
Nice move and score by Garland…
he uses the glass pretty well.
He makes it look so easy sometimes.
Lol. We all knew Delly was missing that. Then Teague beats four guys to the bucket.
Amazing to me that cavs are still in the lead
23 turnovers now… tho that last one looked like Delly got hammered on the arm…
He did. Tried to take a tech.
I swear Sexton has been blocked 8 times in the last two games. I count at least four this game so far.
Delly trying to draw a foul there. Airballed instead
I guess rugby scrums are legal now…
Martin tried to get away with some weak shizz there.
This is a horrible basketball game.
Slugfest – that’s where Delly lives…
Good foul, Delly.
Larry never shoots on the post-up.
Delly jump hook!
Went to the Tristan Thomspon finishing school.
Respect the fight from Minny. Wish the Cavs played D like they do.
It will be real interesting to see if the cavs want to win this down the stretch. If they play Sexland in crunch time, they don’t.
Wow. That call was garbage. That was the same call Cedi got whistled for an offensive for earlier.
That was not a travel. His inside foot was his pivot foot.
This might be the worst officiating crew I’ve ever seen… outside of Tony Brothers and his crew…
This is the world’s longest possession.
20 turnovers… Cavs might tie the team record of 29…
Minnesota just grabbing at everything. TT putting the ball on the floor too much instead of taking what the defense gives him.
Jeez… so many open threes missed on one possession…
at least they’re shooting them?
Cavs passing has completely dried up…
Looks like someone read them the riot act about taking care of the ball.
I hope Dieng keeps shooting long threes…
Got the drive to go that time…
Used his body nicely to shield the defender.
Sexton is the having his shot blocked GOAT.
Embarrassing way to come out of the locker room…
Oh Cedi that was sad
Soooo many turnovers…
Sexton got HACKED
C3DI!
I like the timely pass by Garland in the PnR, he struggles with that one.
Nothing like giving up a step back three on an inbounds…
Cavs once had 29 turnovers in a game in 1997… they still won the game though… somehow…

Too bad Love isn’t playing…
Pretty balanced scoring by the Cavs… everyone getting involved. Clean up turnovers and this should be a win…
Low-scoring game, plays like that by garland may prove to be the difference
That bucket is a metaphor for the entire game.
Way to stay with it Garland!
Great recovery!!
TT just doing too much offensively.
Yesus.
Lot of uncalled fouls… refs checked out already I see…
