Live Thread: Bulls @ Cavs
2021-12-08Good evening CtB!
Tonight on the shores of Lake Erie the Cavs host the Chicago Bulls, their second consecutive Central Division rivalry game. The Bulls seem to have gone to another level since last season with the acquisitions of DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso, and Lonzo Ball and are poised to make the playoffs and be a possible championship contender. The Bulls also come into the game on a four game winning streak, including victories over the Brooklyn Nets and Denver Nuggets. Surely the Cavs will have their work cut out for them to secure a win.
Luckily for the Cavs, it appears that the Bulls are injury ridden and will be without DDR and Caruso at the least. The Cavs are trending in a positive direction on the injury front, expecting to get back Dean Wade after an extended absence with a calf injury. The extra bodies will help given the Cavs are in the midst of a brutal stretch of the schedule.
#Cavs forward Dean Wade is available tonight against the Chicago Bulls according to head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.

As for the game itself, the Cavs will have their hands full trying to contain Zach Lavine, who’s having another fantastic year offensively. One way to neutralize him will be to attack his defense, which is not his strong suit. For the Cavs, this will be the perfect opportunity for Tower City to exploit the Bulls’ small ball and dominate the paint. This game should be an exciting one as both teams are fighting their way to the Eastern Conference playoffs… GO CAVS!
Okoro’s box score looks impactful…holy cow is that a misdirect.
Okoro had as bad a game as Mobley had a good game. Their box scores dont look as far apart as they should….but mobley basically played an all star level game…and Okoro played a garbage time A+. Except he played major mins!!!
I would happily give half or more of his minutes to Stevens at this point
Watched the second half. Missed the first. Watched some highlights of the first. Mobley stuffed a jump hook from a big?!!! WTF. That kid has some of the best timing I have ever seen.
Also that block (mid air rip) on Lavine was hilarious. Give me that!
Can I just say I love the unis we wore tonight.
And the full Cavalier logo much better than the C.
100%
HOU has won 7 in a row.. the last 6 have been without jalen green (#2, ahead of big mobes).. not sure what the long-term significance is, but it certainly begs some questions…
Would be alarming from a Houston perspective. I would like to survey Greens teammates. Perhaps they aren’t thrilled to be his second act.
only 3 of those wins were against decent competition…and I would argue the hornets will not amount to real competition once March rolls around…but still darn impressive. Not only are they winning without Green…they are winning on the backs of other young guys like Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. Kinda fun to see.
WOW JUST GOT HOME FROM CHRISTMAS PARTY—–BAH HUMBUG —( ALTHOUGH PLENTY OF ….” MORE BEER PLEASE ” )—SOUNDS LIKE I MISSED A GREAT GAME AND TIME WITH ALL OF YOU –WILL WATCH REPLAY TOMORROW AND POST MY THOUGHTS —-GO CAVS —-” ALL GRIT–NO QUIT—SCRAPPY NOT CRAPPY “
For those that were able to watch, Bally Sport had JA mic’d up. I can’t help but keep thinking…. he came up with Mobley’s nickname….
Evan “Wrong Guy” Mobley
whatchu all think? IMO… Awesome!
And that’s “Wrong Guy” as in you picked on the wrong guy today!
HaHa!
LMFAO yeah I heard that I like it!
And just to harp on the schedule thing. The Cavs’ opponents have a .475 winning percentage from here, the easiest in the league. The most difficult is .513 for the Clips and Lakers. A difference of .038. There are 30 teams in the league, there is not usually a lot of difference between teams on this list. .001 or .002 between teams as you go down the list. The biggest difference between any two consecutive teams is 0.004. Well, besides any two teams other than Cleveland. The second easiest schedule is Denver, at .486. That is 011 more difficult than… Read more »
yup, Cavs are top 8 in the NBA in luck adjusted point diff…. we’re damn close to being a contender without YB as it is.
Just need the offense to go up another level… might be difficult without making a move since no YB tho
yeah buddy!
I think the Cavs got a decent shot at #4 and likely <= #6.
I am not comparing teams, just the way the schedule falls, and the Cavs are a young team getting better fast. Also the Cavs have played everyone tough, with a lot of top teams squeeking by, Giannis coming back last night, LeBron, Steff, KD all having to pull on the superman cape to win, …
Obviously any major injury will scramble things.
Ho hum, another big win vs a good team (though they were missing some guys, hey we are missing YB). In no way do I mean I am getting bored by this, but this is the outcome I expected coming into the game. And they delivered. Again. Well, a tough back to back follows this (at Minny, all the way home for Sac), but we will have completed the 2nd of our 3 5 in 7s for the year. The schedule will ease up a bit after this, and we have the easiest remaining schedule in the league from here.… Read more »
Pangos might need to see some non garbage time minutes. He had 3 assists and played some d
might’ve earned another shot with the defense he played tonight… Dotson might be small but he’s quick.
dominant performance good to get one against a playoff team, albeit shorthanded.

And by that I mean and embarrassing over throw.
Cant wait for his progressive commercial at the next break!
LMFAOOOOOOO Love wanted that TD pass so bad.
OH MAN MOBLEY BLOCK! damn Love had it just missed.
Good challenge here
What I love: 7 different guys on this Cavs team can take over for 10min stretches. And the others aren’t afraid to feed that guy. There’s not many “I gotta get mine” type of egos on this team, if any. And that gives us hope for not just this season, but hopefully the next several. …. just an observation.
yup, pass first PGs like DG and Rubio really grease the wheels!
What a luxury to have the likes of Rubio and Love coming off the bench.
POST LOVE OR LAURI UP!!! KEEP IT SIMPLE!
LOVE IS RAINING THREES!!!!!!!!
OMG Kevin Love!
Up 20. Do I hear 30?
WOW RUBIO FINDING HIS SHOT!
Love as well.
How many third quarter runs have we made when Cedi is in? The kid is making things happen.
Cedi deserves more minutes don’t care about the past
I think they are SO afraid to change anything about Cedi’s current role they aren’t going to give him more minutes or (deservedly so IMO) start him over Okoro.
yup 100% agree, and it’s a little too superstitious for my taste.
Beautiful swing to Love!
LOVE IS IN THE AIR!!!!
RUBIO LOVE TWO MAN TO PERFECTION!
So sweet!
Horrible call
some terrible offensive sets twice in a row, just post up Mobley or Lauri!
