Live Thread: Hawks @ Cavs, Game Three

I hate memes more than anyone, but I’ll be darned if this doesn’t sum up game three.
We can almost taste it. That is, everyone except for Tom (love ya, buddy).
In our email chains since game one, I will openly admit that pretty much everyone involved in C:TB has spent far, FAR more time talking about the Warriors than the Hawks. Actually, I’m not sure I can remember a single instance of any of the bloggers discussing the Hawks for any extended period of time.
But, and I don’t think I’m too far off-base here, I’m guessing that’s where most Cavs fans are right now.
Really, is that surprising? I think we can be forgiven if we’re not terrified by the name “Kent Bazemore” in the starting lineup. Nor are we intimidated by a hobbled Demarre Carroll. Long, long gone are the days of us worrying about Kyle Korver going off, and it would appear that the offensive rebounding tandum of Tristan and Mozzy are too much for what we can now understand to be an undersized Hawks front court.
Still, it seems naive to look too far ahead. For one thing, a year ago even being at this point seemed way outside the realm of reality – maybe it’s time to enjoy the trip we’re on. For another, the Hawks certainly aren’t dead yet. Just ask the Clippers.
Finally, there ain’t no way ANYONE is matching up with GS with a hobbled point guard. Fingers crossed that brace works, Kyrie!
I don’t want to be a Debbie downer – I still have complete faith of where this is going. JR is the man, TT and Timofey are WAY more than we thought they were, and Lebron is finally back to being Lebron; those things (especially the last) will always give the Cavs a chance. I’m just here to put it all into perspective – lets not get ahead of ourselves, take this one day at a time, and enjoy awesome basketball as long as we can.
And for God’s sake, lets pray Draymond Green can’t shut the King down in a seven game series!

Also, how can they all, at the same time, be so surprised that Horford got tossed? He lifted his whole arm above his shoulder in a wind up action before swinging down at Delly’s head. Horford didn’t make complete contact, but he did get Delly’s neck and the side of his head. Throwing an elbow at a guys head and making partial contact is clearly an ejectionable-offense.

I cannot believe these announcers and studio heads. Delly is off-balance, Horford is pulling his shoulder, and Delly trips over Carroll (who is on the ground). How can they possibly be saying he is a dirty player doing this on purpose? I can somewhat understand Hawks fans saying Delly is somehow intentionally falling towards guys legs, fans come up with crazy theories when upset. But these announcers saying it like its fact, are you kidding me??
I’m totally fine with Delly disrupting the other team. It flat out works. NO ONE has an answer for this guy.

so horford purposefully changed the direction of his body slam at the last second to not hit delly in the head while delly on purpose rolled into korver while chasing a loose ball and then purposefully backed into horford knee??

Are people blind? Horford held Delly’s arm and pulled him down. Where the “F” is this Delly is dirty narrative coming from?
the only reason the elbow didn’t hit dellys head is becuase inertia made him move it off to the side at the last second as he was rolling over- otheriwise that elbow hits his head.
Ernie says Delly was “off balance.” Still no recognition that Horford pulled him down.
Really wish they’d just talk about the game…

I’m a huge Delly fan, but it does look a bit that Delly is falling kinda like a bowling ball trying to take as many Hawks with him as he can. He rolls up on Horford’s foot when he falls over Carroll and then Horford drops the elbow.
I can see that. But it also looks like horford is pulling his arm, ala olynyk.

The officials are taking this long to decide whether a 1 or 2 on Horford…
