Live Thread: Raptors vs Cavs
2016-05-19Whatsup Cavs Fans!? We could talk about a lot of things. Will the Cavs will do their scoring inside or outside? Will Toronto turn up their defensive intensity? Will the Raps muster more than one scoring threat? Who will step up for Cleveland? But the big question tonight – the question of every night in this Cavs’ 10 game playoff winning streak? How much hubris is too much? I tend to not let myself get too up about these things, because, as Crash Davis said (warning R rated clip), “never **** with a winning streak.”
In that vein, I keep my criticism sharp, my praise constrained, and my fear of the Cavs’ opponents palpable, because that’s what I’ve been doing all season. But many Cavs fans have slinging around the irrational exuberance like it’s spaghetti sauce at Parasson’s. I suppose I ought not excoriate those folks too much, because they shouldn’t do anything to derail their train either. So let’s all hold steady, and hope the Cavs’ hold steady too.
Cleveland needs to keep keeping it loose, keep attacking, and keep playing without a conscience. While I respect the Raptors, this series is more about whether the Cavs’ can keep up their solid play, and whether we can all keep our streaks going. I haven’t washed my Delly jersey since March. I want it to reek by mid June.
Sorry to miss it guys! Glad the streak is unbroken! Maybe even Nate will start leaning into the hubris… ;)
Tom’s Instacap is up.
If you let this roll until Delly commits the foul about 20 seconds in, they show two replays of his oh so Dellyesque ankle-turn and assist.
Edit: Ah, pooh. If the video window doesn’t open, wait for the page to finish loading; it will jump down to the right spot. Then click on the arrow on the top line on the screen, where it says ‘Dellavedova P.FOUL (P1.T2) (J.Capers)’

Craptors
Rapturds
Raptards
The Finals start two weeks from tonight. Hope that’s enough time for Delly to be healthy. The Cavs will need him.
Raptors playing with very little heart. Quite a crappy showing, honestly.

Skip Classy Bayless tweeting lebron’s path to the finals has been the easiest ever. Does he not remember last year’s debacle that was the golden state warriors list of injured opponents out west? And they didn’t go 10-0 to start…
Skip is a dip.
Lebron and Kareem meeting in the tunnel
Oh my goodness…Kareem greeting the Cavs outside their locker room.
He’s tired of the Lakers sucking and jumping on the Cleveland bandwagon.
The final highlight of the night…Mo with a nice dish to Dahntay.

Tribe swept the Reds (ALWAYS gives me pleasure), Cavs come one step closer to bringing out the brooms. Good night in the CLE. Good night, CtB.
Goodnight jmay
Timo lookin’ spry with a sweet left lefty jmp hook off the square!
Moz gets on the board!

Dahntay Jones takes a hard charge in garbage time.
Scola went from starting to garbage time in the same game. Never seen that before
He’s the Argentinian Jim McIlvane.
Mo Williams takes about 4 seconds after entering the game to get his first shot up.
Well, he’s 32, he’s slowing down.
Raps have seen more than enough of Uncle Drew tonight.

This is one of the few games where they’ve actually called all the fouls that happen to Lebron in a game…This is exactly why they officiate him the way they do because people would not want to watch him shoot 18 FT’s every single game which is really what he should average…
JR from DEEP in the Q!!!!!!! That should do it.

All 5 starters in right now…
Lebron need to work on his free throws tomorrow, cant trust him on the line tonight
9-17 , the only flaw in his game tonight.
Said in the postgame interview he’ll work on it tomorrow morning
Lowry in series: 18 points, 8-27 FG, 1-14 3P, 1-2 FT
Kyrie looking like he can do whatever he wants tonight

Too easy… Raptors look ready to capitulate.

Gotta get some more ball movement going.
Great pass by Lebron again, wow

Just play smart for a couple more minutes and put it away…
All Lebron 7 field goals are in the paint again, keep it up Bron
Delly in Lowry’s head in just a few short minutes. Also I really, REALLY hope Jefferson sticks around. He just exudes good basketball sense. I didn’t always like him throughout his career but he’s been great all season long.
Lebron went for that rebound boy, he could have left it go outside too lol, now he can sit and relax knowing he got the triple double
And he says individual stats don’t matter to him ;) that man had the triple double count in his head.
LBJ really wanted that board…
This is possibly the most Delly play of all time. Hurts his ankle and still finds the cutter.

This play had me yelling at the tv.
Pull Delly, no need to run him in a blow out
DELLY DIME!
The Richard Jefferson signing was fantastic.
I concur. And from all accounts is a great teammate.
nice cutting by RJ and pass by Delly
Delly to Frye for 3 — a quick 5 points from Frye to start the 4th.
https://vine.co/v/iEZaV1eOHIQ
James back door to Frye
https://vine.co/v/iEZaIIw6IET
I feel like when Dwayne Casey told his Raptors to play tougher more physical defense they heard “just foul the shnit out of them”…
FRYEEE with the first 5 points, atleast we aint stagnant like da beginning of the third
Frye coming in to turn out the lights…
Is there anyone feeling more fortunate in the universe than Dohntay Jones? Dude must feel blessed.
Cavs 86 Raptors 69 end 3. Cleveland has shot 35 free throws compared to 13 for Toronto. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love have 62 points combined.
Cavs up 86-69 after 3Q. Kyrie 22p; LeBron 21p 9a 8r; Love 19p. CLE doing it again without the 3-ball (5-of-15 from deep)
