Live Thread: Cavs vs. Pacers (#NoFoolin’)
2017-04-02The month of March was no laughing matter for the Cavs. In fact, the 31 day stretch… populated with 17 games, including 12 on the road and five back-to-backs, must have seemed like one long set up for the worst kind of April Fools joke. But, it’s over now. The Cavs got back on the winning track to close out their forced march through March with a win over a significantly depleted Sixers squad. Now, they look to extend their fortune on the second game of a three game home stand with the Indiana Pacers in town. Normally, early April would be a prime time for fooling around with lineups and getting extra rest for starters, yet the wine & gold find themselves in the thick of not only jockeying for playoff position, but also still trying to get a rhythm going for all of their new pieces.
The Pacers, once firmly in position for the sixth seed in the EC, have fallen apart a bit of late. They’ve lost three in a row, and are just 3-7 in their last 10, dropping into a tie for the seventh/eighth spot with Chicago and Miami. They’re still powered by their star forward, Paul George, but he’s openly questioned the team’s sense of urgency as they stumble towards the end of the season. Indiana did, however, bring back their former resident prankster and ear whisperer, Lance Stephenson, on a three year deal.

Did the Pacers sign Lance with the expectation that they’d wind up meeting the Cavs in round one? Possibly… although it remains to be seen if the two teams will finish the season in the requisite seeds that would result in that matchup. The Cavs have won the last two meetings with the Pacers after dropping the first one this season. Cleveland should have everyone available with the exception of Kyle Korver (foot) and Richard Jefferson (knee tendonitis). The Pacers will likely be without Al Jefferson (ankle) and Glenn Robinson III (calf).
Cavs probable starters: Kyrie Irving, J.R. Smith, LeBron James, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson. Pacers probable starters: Jeff Teague, Monta Ellis, Paul George, Thaddeus Young, Myles Turner.
Prediction: Cavs don’t fool around with the Pacers, and get April rolling with a 112-106 victory.

That was almost as crazy as the Washington game…
These refs should really be ashamed of themselves…
Shump you dope
What a bone headed foul by Shump
Should be two shots and the ball… Teague fouled him again before the inbounds… smh

So… I guess that’s not a foul on Teague??

Why is TT angry? He’s going at it with Lue
Lebron snapping at TT for not covering PG when he is picked
I don’t think TT had a chance to get to PG from angle I saw
Thanks

MFQ or overtime is KLove!!
HOLY COW!!
How is this possible?
https://twitter.com/JasonLloydNBA/status/848701703239106563
Maybe KLove resets to first quarter mode in the second OT…
Kevin is awesome this game.
How are they not driving at Paul George to foul him out??
They are pushing off every single time on offense.
JR SWISH AGAIN!!
How do you lose Paul George like that??
JR IS BACK BABY!

I will take Love in the post over Irving hero ball this game
yeah Love looks very comfortable on the block
Always and forever.
Kevin on the spot!
Now they go to Love in the post!!
If Silver had any balls he’d fire these jerk offs instead of whining about rest
Where has that low post Love game been?
Why ever switch Kyrie onto George??
So glad someone else is pissed about refs. Haven’t been able to get on CTB for game.
TT!!
PG-13 has five fouls… (should have 7) gotta go right at him…
Refs really trying to make sure the Pacers make the playoffs… smh
Omg. The Pacers get away with three fouls on LeBron’s arm on the catch then a gift call at the end of overtime for pg13. Worst refs I’ve ever seen.
And that’s saying something, since Tony Brothers actually exists in the world…
Just give the Pacers the game refs. Unbelievable
Catch the ball with two hands, Lebron.
His other hand is in a jujitsu hold by George
1.1?
Yet another uncalled foul on Paul George over the back…
This is the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen.

Well, good pressure test for playoffs I guess.
Is Tony Brothers in this game?
BALL DOES NOT LIE!!!!!
HOLY HELL these refs suck!
lmao
Seriously??? They call that after all the no calls earlier GTFO
THAT WAS FIVE SECONDS!!!
Come on refs seriously
One more stop please.
One thing about JR. He is not afraid to shoot
I thought JR’s shot was going to get blocked. Dude has ice on his veins.
That was huge by JR…
omg. what a ridiculous shot
Ok.
Boom…. Swish!
JR SWISHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Just one more made FT from LBJ in regulation and this one would have been over long ago…
Pacers looking to break a 7 game road losing streak in a game we led by 14. Wow
Like I posted before I would trade KLove and Shump for PG13 with my eyes closed.
This is some poor officiating…
How is Love so bad after the first quarter?
That’s probably game…
There’s the D. How about a 3?
LeBron had a dunk. wthell is going on
I just don’t understand that shot…
Thanks ref! Lol
Getting buckets
Uncle Drew!!
Great pass by Ky! More of that please!
I believe Kyrie was supposed to set a screen for Bron on that play and he messed the play up.
At least Paul George has an equal affinity for hero ball
Maybe OT will be Kyrie’s time for redemption…
