Playoff Live Thread: Cavs @ Celtics, Game 1

The Cavs open up the Eastern Conference Finals on the road in Boston tonight. After rolling through the first two rounds in just eight games, they come into this series favorites once again.
The Celtics have their best chance to win tonight. The Cavs are coming off of over a week of rest, and they may actually be rusty. Or, and this may very well be the case, LeBron James will be at full strength and ready to completely make the Celts go into a full on “we’re not good enough as is with our super short super fun point guard, Isaiah Thomas” rebuild.
I’m picking the Cavs to win 107-98.
And the Celtics BS starts.

All LeBron has to do on IT is stay close to hime at the 3-point line, not go for any fakes, let IT break towards the basket, and then do a mini chase down block.

I think Frye’s meaningful minutes are over for this season. He hardly played at all against GSW in the Finals last year, and this year will probably be the same. RJ played zero minutes vs. the Raps, but I think he’ll play more this series so he’s more ready to play a few first half minutes in the Finals.
He can play vs Pachulia, McGee, & West. Also Olynyk & Horford.
Cavs starting front court has outscored the Celtics front court 64-14…

Everyone talks about LeBron getting rest, but I think TT really, really benefits from it. His game is all hustle, and he plays every game and never takes a minute off, even in the regular season. He has dominated this game.

Gotta say, masterful game-planning by Lue. Really took it to them physically and attacked the paint. Great defensive preparation as well preventing penetration.
I expect the C’s will hit some more shots in the second half… would love to see the Cavs continue to attack the paint…

Not sure why Frye hasn’t played. Kinda weird to play RJ before him.
Different team… RJ is a better defender and rebounder than Channing…
I thought with the 3’s not falling, Lue would throw Frye in there first.
They’ve consciously decided to not shoot threes… they only took 9 in the first half… they can get whatever they want in the paint, so why give Boston long rebounds to get them going…
