Podcast Episode 178: LeBrexit

Well… LeBron James is gone. Again.
To process this new reality… Nate, Tom, Eli and EG commiserated in the podcast booth. We discuss why we think it happened, who’s to blame, whether it was a basketball or lifestyle move, if the Lakers are now contenders, what happens now with the future of the Cavs, and how this move affects LeBron’s ultimate legacy. So, all in all a pretty cheery listen. In all seriousness though, here’s hoping listening to us vent a little might help you all with your own venting process… and be a reminder to cherish the good times.
As always, you can catch us above, on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts or Google Play.
And, as always GO CAVS!
BAGLEY AGAIN!!!! WITH THE LEFT HAND IN THE POST! AND 1! AND JOSH HART IS EJECTED!!!
You can say you heard it here first …bagley is an overrated prospect that’s selfish with regard to sharing the ball. He’s a bust. Doesn’t have any outside game to speak of either
Wagner with a corner 3… two point game!
Bagley with the offensive rebound and finish!!!
Rookie from Kansas for the Lakers can shoot it. 2nd round pick… Euro player?
D’Aaron Fox floats in the air and finishes with a kiss off the glass!
Wagner with a nice drive and dish…. leads to a 3.
Frank Mason to the rack!
BAGLEY WITH ANOTHER BLOCK ON WAGNER!!! That’s four blocks tonight!!!
Backdoor cut by Fox and he finishes and gets the and1!!!
Harry Giles with a nice floater in the lane! Josh Hart with a contested 3!!!
Bagley with the rejection on Wagner in the post!
Nice comeback by the Kings! Leading by five with a few minutes left in the 4th. Mason draws the foul and going to FT line.
Yeah… I think that Bagley dude is gonna be just fine…
https://twitter.com/hoopshype/status/1014004789334675457
He’s a stud.
Told ya.
I was always on the Bagley train… I was not a believer in Bamba or Wendell Carter Jr…
Bagley, Doncic and Sexton were the only ones who’s “motors” were a net positive, and Bagley probably plays even harder than Sexton. You can win a lot of regular season games and even early round playoff games just by playing your ass off and doing your job, so I thought that was a pretty good pick by Kings. Not a huge fan of Bamba, Wendell Carter is what he is which I think will end up being fine and dependable for a 7th pick.
Bagley with a nice move in the post…. he’s quick down there, decisive that time.
Bagley with the block on Wagner!!!
Nice activity by Bagley on the offensive boards, draws the foul!
Josh Hart with the nice drive and finish! Fox with the strong finish!
“Hey Bron… great news, we signed Rondo!”
https://twitter.com/OnlyInBOS/status/1013896886183481344
Frank Mason with the 3!
Frank Mason with the dish to Auguste and the flush!
Fox with the alley oop to Zach Auguste!
Enes is definitely getting fined for this… but man, kinda worth it…
https://twitter.com/Enes_Kanter/status/1013975803762266112
Definitely…. would Stern allow this BS to happen???
No he wouldn’t. He valued fair competition and wanted small markets to have a chance
Lol does Getty have this image sitting around?
Wagner with a nice dunk…. two man PnR game…. nice read by him.
Boogie’s career may be over with that injury. Doubt he’ll even play this year. But such a strange off-season.
Career over? Doubtful. Dude is already walking around just fine. Even if he sits out most of the year to rehab, he’d still be a formidable piece for them in the playoffs. They probably wouldn’t even need him until the WCF…

Plus his game not on athleticism
Wagner can’t convert after a nice drive….. misses easy layup. Needs to take that up strong.
Fox with a nice midrange pull up! Good ball movement from the kIngs
Giles with another pure jumper!!!
Bagley with a nice rejection of Wagner! Weak side help finally!
Sloppy basketball after a quick start from both teams.
Wagner, Bagley, trade buckets, then Giles with the finish on the break!!! NOW FOX WITH THE THREE!
Josh Hart with the jumper at the buzzer! Gotta good one here!
Bagley draws the foul before the half.
On the buzzer!
Frank Mason with a flagrant here… this game is intense!!! Wagner and Giles are supplying the energy!
Wagner good defense on Bagley on the block…. FOX WITH THE FINISH ON THE BREAK!
Wagner gets the call on the drive…. looked a little iffy there.
Fox to the hoop! Nice PnR action with Bagley! Bagley drew all the attention.
Wagner continues to look good at the offensive end…. he’s gonna struggle on the defensive end.
I don’t really care about Boogie on the Dubs. Even if he were healthy, it doesn’t impact the Cavs in any way. It’s just pretty silly, and more of a spectacle.
D’Aaron Fox with a fancy finish! Harry Giles with the 3!!! Didn’t know he had that! Giles and Wagner talking mad trash here too.
Wow, with the +1 too – what a move.
Is this referring to a contract or a ball play?
Lol good point – Fox pulling some good moves for the Kings.
Lakers picked up Willams from Gonzaga… that’s a good pickup, he was at times their best player last year.
Bagley misses an easy left hook shot in the lane…. rushed it.
Lance, Rondo, Javale, Lavar. That’s pretty amazing
Wagner playing like he wants to go to the Spurs lol….. made a great reverse layup!
Wagner with a nice recovery block on Giles….. late and off-target pass to an open Giles screwed him over.
BAGLEY WITH THE 3!!! He’s PUMPED!!! Wagner with a nice pump fake and drive, draws the foul.
Justin Jackson with the 3! I like this Kings Summer squad!!!
Wow….. if Harry Giles’ health is back to normal, with Bagley??? That’s a fantastic front court!
Giles with the block on Wagner! FInishes on the other end….. BAGLEY WITH A MONSTER DUNK IN THE PAINT!!!!!
Bagley with a nice spin move makes his first bucket!
Mo Wagner just took Bagley to the rack strong. Also Bagley can’t finish with his right hand.

Wait. Did the Lakers cut Randel to sign Rondo? And the Warriors got Boogie? This league is so jacked up
I would bet the Warriors signed Boogie mostly so he wouldn’t be available to the Celtics (the other team he was reportedly interested in signing with) on the off chance they would have to face him in the Finals…
Kerr is a freakin genius on so many levels
Tony Bradley a UNC product looking good tonight. Also George Niang looking good for Utah. Derrick White and Amida Brimah look not horrible for Spurs. Utah absolutely spanking San Antonio tonight.
WOW….. Grayson Allen has looked better than Trae Young tonight.
4 of 20 is a pretty low bar.
LOL… Grayson Allen looked way more under control, 11pts 8 assists, 7 rebounds…. not too bad!!!

Yep. Screw them. Buy the ticket, take the ride.
Amen. Durant just took advantage of what Bron allowed.
Lebron and CP3 don’t complain about the cap spike because they know it was their choice. From a business and negotiating standpoint, I’m sure they don’t have any regrets. The league will be ruing that for years to come because it was terrible for the owners, and will give the players a little leverage point in the next negotiations. They’re still trying to undo years of mismanagement and crappy CBA’s negotiated by Billy Hunter. Their jobs as pres. and VP are to think about the players’ future financial welfare, not their own playing aspirations. If the NBA wasn’t offering enough… Read more »
Boogie, Green, Durant, Klay, Steph.
When is the last time a team had 5 all-stars from the previous year? Cousy, Sharman, Ramsey, Heinsohn, Russell?
This is freaking ridiculous.
https://twitter.com/TheSteinLine/status/1013956050763026432
Let me guess: Havlicek, JoJo White, Cowens, Charlie Scott, & who?
First three I am solid, guess on Scott.
Those five Celtics in 1975-76 who were All-Stars the previous season: Jo Jo White, Charlie Scott, Dave Cowens, Paul Silas and John Havlicek
Thanks. And FWIW, they were a starting 5: White at PG, Scott at SG, Havlicek at SF, Silas at PF, Cowens at C.
I think Scott made the HOF this year, only Silas not in the Hall.
NBA is a joke. Bunch of AAU babies. No one from this era is top 25 save for Bron.
As much as I hate to say it, KD and Steph will be top 25
Maybe Wade too!
Cavs summer league team play Friday?
Friday, July 6th @ 9pm VS Was.
Lol on Boogie.

Hometown event security seems to be taking part. Dirty.
This is fantastic: Andre blatche in the middle of it I believe, and that crazy guy on the Australian team skipping around.
Definitely more damage done to the players than malice at the palace. A couple of those Australians were getting curb stomped and kicked while they were next to the press area by both Phillipines players, coaches or team personnel, and apparently event security/officials as evidenced by the later part of the video. Pretty crazy.
Love the slow-mo
Delly on the bench throughout…
He’s not stupid. My main concern is my national team escaping Bulacan alive, given who the president of the Phillipines is….
Yep. Local security was certainly eager to join in the fight.
Yeesh lol. Yeah forgot about Duerte.
Shows how national events like that could get out of control and become dangerous for the opponents. All of a sudden you have not only the players but local event marshals, ball boys, coaches, etc taking part. Nationalism can quickly turn into tribalistic mob mentality. After all, nationalism is just tribalism at a larger scale.
There were 13 ejections. The game continued with the Philippines down to three players but was called off when two of them fouled out. FIBA to announce penalties in the coming days.
And the Philippines team paused to pose for a selfie at the end.

That was my question in my NBA twitter dms….. lower body injury on a big man…. not a good recipe.
Maybe. Maybe not. Still hilariously ridiculous though.
Well, best rookies tonight: Jaren Jackson, Omari Spellman, and Jevon Carter.
Honestly Don’t think boogie will be much of a factor this year at all, but it’s a nice gamble.
If nothing else, he gets McGee’s minutes in the playoffs…
See above about a 300 pound man with an Achilles injury.
Yes, they don’t have to rush him into action or anything. If he becomes part of their depth for the playoffs they’ll be happy.
McGee out and Boogie in is a good move.
Did Looney sign anywhere yet?
There are no rules a sport can put in place to protect against grown men, grown athletes, being complete pansies and exhibiting complete anti-competitive behavior. What an absolute embarrassment for the game of basketball. The NBA is done.
Come on man. Its a one year rehab contract.
