Live Thread: Clippers @ Cavs
2022-03-14Good evening CtB!
Cleveland, it is game time (h/t Mr. Cavalier Austin Carr) and the Cavs will play host the Los Angeles Clippers in what should be a delightful slugfest for those who are connoisseurs of defense. The Cavs will need to be ready for the Ty Lue/Isaiah “Hard Rock” Hartenstein revenge game as they embark upon the biggest home stand stretch of the young Cavs’ careers.
The Clippers are really an amazing story within this NBA season, losing their top three scorers and yet still treading above .500 water. It cannot be denied the excellent jobs the Clips’ front office and Coach Ty Lue have done. As a fan who’s been critical of Lue in the past, it’s not a stretch to say that Ty Lue deserves some type of Coach of the Year hype.
News, Notes, Stats…
It appears that the Cavs will be facing the G-League Clips, there are rumors they won’t have starting PG Reggie Jackson. The Cavs sound like they will be healthier than they have been in awhile with the possible returns of Caris LeVert and Lauri Markkanen. It looks like Coach J.B. Bickerstaff and the guys are pulling out all of the stops to end this recent slide.
There are three stats in regards to the Clippers that stand out. First, they are a tough as nails defense, easily top 10 in defensive efficiency. They’re defensive dawgs and they get after it. The second stat is how poor their offense is, close to bottom five in the NBA in efficiency. The Cavs have a massive opportunity to use their top five defense to really dominate the game and relieve pressure on their offense. The last stat is how poor the Clippers are rebounding the ball on both ends of the court. There’s an opportunity for the Cavs to crash the glass on offense and score some easy looks at the basket.
Tip off is scheduled for 7:00PM ET and will be broadcasted live on Bally Sports Ohio/Great Lakes, Go Cavs!
cap up!
In honor of Mobley’s career night, a nice article about him.

The prob with the Cavs is that even though we are 2nd at OPP PPG at 103.8, Dallas 1st at 103.5.. We are 25th in the league with 106.9 PPG.
Is it a pipe dream to think Lebron and co could do us a favor and get us a win against the raps tonight?
Probably. But every once in a while they play well. Russ hits some shots, Monk or Melo get hot from deep.
My money would be on Toronto, though.
Russ is shooting something like 9% from three since the all star break isn’t he?
Raptors up 35-15 in the 2nd.. smh.
Atleast Sac is up 20 on the Bulls at halftime, lets’s see if they can keep it up. Denver won against Philly tonight, so that was good.
I ain’t talking threes, just anything. Layups, elbow jumpers, FTs.
LAL getting doubled up 44/22 at the middle of Q2
LeVert was extremely impressive defensively tonight, there were brain farts but the energy and physicality were there.
That’s a bonus considering we brought him to Cleveland for his offensive game. Same with Markkanen, I’ll give props to JB for getting these guys that had a rep as poor defenders to buy in and play tough defense.
yup, particularly putting Lauri out on the perimeter more.
Agree. His length is nice. I think better days are ahead for his offense – it’s nice to have him out there as a secondary playmaker/ball handler.
yup, good length, good speed… just needs to find his inner dawg and sky is the limit!
DG, Mobes, Ice, and Big Finnish were all pretty darn good tonight.
Live and Levert also in double figures.
Much needed win.
First 30 pt game for Mobley.
🍺👍🍺👍🍺👍🍺👍🍺👍🍺👍🍺👍🤪
CHEERS!
Mobley +21, Caris +14 DG +11
that’s okoro isn’t it? Mobes was +4
right. Ice is inconsistent, but he has some real nice games. 4/6 on FG, 11/13 on FT: 20 pts on 6 shots — gotta like that.
Yes!!! Cavs win. Man this Clips team is tough. Great game from Ice and ofc Mobes was insane
Garland best player on the floor. Mobley second best. Good second half.
Stoked to watch the replay. Man we needed a win
So Agree, hate watching full games and then we loose at the end.
I have to wait 3 days, friggin NBA league pass is bullshit.
are you serious ?? thats garbage
Seriously? I’ve subscribed to Cavs-only LP and can watch the game at any time.
Spent my weekend watching live losses, now sitting at work hearing that they win. Argh.
Alright.
