The Cavs welcome the New York Knicks to the shores of Lake Erie for a potential first round Eastern Conference playoff preview. With a win, the Cavs guarantee home court advantage, and if the Knicks win they will secure their spot in the playoffs and stay out of the play-in. For both teams, there’s plenty to play for but there’s also potential for either team to not appreciate the urgency of the matter. Also, both teams are struggling with injuries coming down the stretch. The Cavs are missing a slew of players including Isaac Okoro and Jarrett Allen, and Julius Randle had an ugly ankle injury that could impact his availability for the beginning of the playoffs.
Who are the Knicks statistically? Ironically they’re a top five offense with a subpar defense, which is antithetical to how the Knicks have been perceived by fans over the years. How is their offense so good? Part of the reason is that they don’t turn the ball over and they’re elite at crashing the glass. The Cavs’ crappy rebounding post-Kevin Love could be their downfall tonight. If the Cavs can rebound the ball, there will be opportunities in transition to score easily as the Knicks want to make this a halfcourt game.

I think they probably should’ve feed Mobley more early on, and tried to get Robinson in foul trouble, but everyone was cooking so I don’t blame the staff for letting that play out. (Sorry for the run-on sentence)

Long term the best thing that could happen to Cleveland is a first round sweep that gets JB canned. Why did they cut Love just to hang onto Danny Green who never plays? Why was Llama playing over Stevens or Cedi down the stretch? The world may never know. The Cavs would’ve been better off with a rest game tonight.

Cedi should’ve been in +2 in 21 minutes, Lamar Stevens -8 in 24 minutes basic shit that JB’s fucking up.

Love that we had 3 full days to prep for this game knowing they would be missing randle…and still came out completely confused about how to defend them. Gonna take a miracle to take the series. We just got spanked at home.
That miracle is named Jarrett Allen. They’ll be fine if he’s healthy. Though personally I’m half hoping they’re bad enough to get JB canned.
Allen is indeed what makes our defense work. But randle was out too. We didnt barely lose…we barely competed until we got our asses handed to us
We were also missing two of our best defensive starters. This isn’t a playoff game and we didn’t have 3 days to prepare for Julius Randall being out, since he twisted his ankle two days ago. I think this game may be more of a statement game for the Knicks, but also a show and tell game for them as well. Hopefully JB adjust accordingly.
Jb and adjust don’t often belong in the same paragraph without a few month time delay. He needs to go. Randle dropped out on wednesday you are correct. So we had a whole 12 fewer hours to adjust to him not being there. Point still stands. We were woefully unprepared for this one in defense and only competed cuz Mitchell got everything brunson got with several levels better defense on him

knicks are athletic and playing aggressive defense. im not super confident we clear them in the first round
