Meanwhile… are you ready for the 2018-19 NBA regular season?! Because, it’s finally here! The future is now for your Cleveland Cavaliers. Time to find out if Kevin Love can become a Terminator… if Collin Sexton can be the next John Connor to save the franchise from a bleak existence… or if this year is just an introduction to an oncoming post-apocalypse.
The wine and gold trot out a starting lineup of Love, Cedi Osman, Tristan Thompson, Rodney Hood and George Hill. They’ll face a slightly different looking Raptors team than they faced in the Eastern Conference Finals last year. Toronto adds a potential T-1000 in Kawhi Leonard (replacing DeMar DeRozan), to start alongside OG Anunoby, Serge Ibaka, Danny Green and Kyle Lowry.
Not many give these new Cavs much of a chance against a Raptors team that should contend for the best record in the Eastern Conference (Cleveland was a 13 point underdog for this one). Yet, what chance really did Sarah Connor have of taking down SkyNet?
Prediction: With LeBron gone, the Raptor machine gets some revenge on the team that terminated them from the last few playoff series… but the scrappy Cavs make it interesting 112-108.

Really would like to see love to establish deep post postion and when/if he does CVS need to find him immediately like they did on that Anouby post. Having some sets to free him up would help.

Watching Cedi play just pisses me off more how they wasted the regular season last year not getting him a consistent 15-20 MPG every game.

Siakam just blew by love like he was standing still on that love closeout. Unfortunately he wasn’t. We could really use a hyper mobile big as a rim protector to cover the paint in that scenario which I fear may happen a lot this year.

Gonna take me a while to adjust from being hypercritical of every play/player like I have over the last 4 years to just taking the bumps in the road of a young team. But looking forward to actually enjoying regular season Cavs basketball this year.
First qtr was a lot of fun! Second qtr was a bit sloppy and we have some momentum killers in our rotation.
Cedi needs to take over more…
He really may need to function as a point forward. May end up, maybe already is our best playmaker. Maybe need to have him initiate most sets.

Agree. Seems the only one of the wings or forwards that moves downhill towards the bucket with any momentum, plan, or purpose. Guess Clarkson does but he only does one thing 98% of the time so fairly predictable.

I will give Lue credit. He loves to experiment so much I imagine he is a huge fan of the scientific method. Too bad his experiments never seem to be testing any discernable hypothesis. More like throwing darts at a wall blindfolded.

We barely have any plus individual defenders. We also aren’t very athletic as far as our starters orain bench players. I think they tried though and they did ok in the first qtr. Toronto is a bit too talented and big on offense though.
I really hope TT is able to shut up from here on out. He’s abjectly terrible. Like, Sam Dekker level terrible. He is the same player he was pre-Lebron. No hands, no offense, no skill. Hustle, which is nice. But that’s it. This game is going pretty much exactly as I think most of us expected. His over-confidence is annoying when he has so little game to back it up.
Raptors just fouling every single play and betting the refs won’t call it every time. They’re winning that bet.

Feel like love unfortunately has so so so much trouble finishing over anyone with any length, strength, or size. I think he was better in that regard when he was bulkier.
