Live Thread: Cavs vs Timberwolves

The Cavaliers travel to Kevin Love’s old stomping grounds tonight to face the disgruntled Jimmy Butler and his pack of timid youths. After a rough first game for Love, I’m sure he will want to bounce back and have a big game against his former team. The Wolves, meanwhile, lost their first game to the Spurs in a tight 112-108 contest. The Cavs face a tough first two opponents in Toronto and Minnesota. It gets easier for a short home stint but they’ll have to test their new uptempo offense against a Western Conference powerhouse. At the time of this writing, Nance and JR are still questionable and the TWolves are missing Justin Patton so they are nearly at full strength. As always Go Cavs!
Cavs have won both second halves against playoff teams and without Nance or JR. Sexton shined in crunch time. Cedi is going to be one of the best two way players in the NBA. A lot of positives.
If Cedi is given more control over the offense and we play even mediocre defense, we’re gonna be really good.
Another rookie who balled out was JJJ… this rookie class was truly insane.
Could be an all time great class. Knox had 18 on 7/14 with 2 threes.
Browns thought, maybe the trade of Hyde opens salary room to sign Dez Bryant.

They definitely have tons of cap room. However, they seemed to pass on Dez because of the money. Who knows. Grasping at straws here…
Part of it must be they want to clear the space for Chubb to become the featured back. I mean in limited carries, the kid has been a beast. Not sure if that will translate in featured back/workhorse role. Getting a fifth rounder seems selling low on Hyde though.

His shot is legit as is his finishing at the rim. His vision is incredible. Convinced he pretty much needs to handle the ball in all lineups he is featured in.
He needs to be the featured playmaker…hope Lue sees this…
I’m pretty sure Lue told him to be more aggressive tonight and he was.
Hope so…there is no reason for him to defer to anyone else ever again…
I feel like a broken record praising Cedi, but WOW. I think making the Rising Stars game is his floor this season. If he keeps this up Allstar and MIP don’t feel like reaches.
Next step: perfect his new shot and have a 50/40/90 season.

Same here. I didn’t see the handle or the shot. His handle/driving looked much improved in preseason. His shot has been on fire from three.

Wtf?!!!! Just looked at the pels boxscore after Mike mentioned it. Mirotic was 14/21?!!!! The pels scored 149…… in regulation?!!!! Guess it was against the kings, but good god.
It’s all about AD staying healthy…they could get to the Finals if he does.
Love was better, TT was better, Sexton was better, Cedi almost carried us to a W. +8 with Cedi on the court.
Cedi is better than Brandon Ingram. The national NBA guys just don’t know it yet. I bet Lebron does.

Need to be smarter closing. Will come with some more games. Loved the fight. Loved Cedi. Sexton was special for moments during this game. Love was ok. Clarkson was good I guess, but man his shit selection in crucial moments really annoys me. Wait what shot selection? If there is a shot, he shoots it. Fun game to watch there, especially in the 4th quarter… They need to figure it out on defense. Credit Lue for sticking with Sexton at the end there for a spark. Cedi’s growing into the leader.

I am not crediting Towns with great d. Feel like blocking love on a play like that is like taking candy from a baby if you are 6’9″ +. Good defensive awareness, but not a spectacular play.
