Playoff Live Thread, ECF Game 2: Cavs @ Celtics

Game two isn’t a must win; it’s a “man they really ought to win” if they want to come out ahead in this series. So the Cavs look to bounce back from possibly their worst game of the season (especially given the stakes). Fortunately, the Cavs aren’t playing on Sunday afternoon, where they tend to snooze like they’re watching the third straight hour golf tournament.
The Cavs plan to start Tristan Thompson at the five, and move Korver to the Bench. We’ll see if the Celtics counter with Baynes, but the Cavs should match Horford with Thompson all night. Hopefully, we’ll see some rotation minutes for Cedi instead of the painfully obtuse Jordan Clarkson.
Hopefully the Cavs hit the boards tonight, after getting outrebounded 48-40. Also key, getting to the shooters. Cleveland just left too many guys wide open in Game 1 (I’m looking at you, LeBron).
Also on deck, the draft lottery, where Nick Gilbert (bowtie made out of the Cavs’ championship floor pictured above) tries to play Leprauchan again, and get the Cavs into the top three. Prediction? Second pick, and a 109-105 Cavalier victory.
Green, Hill and JR have all been awful in this game, Juat can’t win them playing like that and giving nothing.

LeBron shouldn’t be sitting now. The Cavs will have three days of rest after this game. He can rest then. If the Celtics win this game this series is over. It’s just a matter of in how many games.

Cavs are not looking good. I’m sure we’ll look a lot better at home, but this team and coaching isn’t giving me any good vibe about keeping LeBron next year. We might get to see a LOT of Cedi and Z next year.
Why isn’t Lue running the same lineup he started the second with? Why? Why didn’t he play Love? ARGH.

If Lebron has a concussion, (1) he shouldn’t be in. I don’t care how important he is, it’s dangerous to his life. (2) the series is over if he has a concussion. He will not be right for weeks.

I’ll be honest, might as well get swept. LeBron can get on about his career somewhere else and Lue can get fired. I absolutely hate him as our f’ing coach.
I didn’t wanna be that fainthearted fan….but I think we are done. In fact, I don’t want this Cavs team to go to the finals. That would be embarrassing.
If ever you needed proof that Lue sucks at coaching, third quarters are all you need. He is the worst halftime coach in the league. That’s not hyperbole. No coach is worse at it than him. He makes no adjustments at halftime. Ever. It is so painfully obvious, and has been for years now.
His best halftime coaching, the best adjustment he EVER made, was game 7 of 2016 Finals, when he told Lebron he needed more from him. That’s it. That’s the only good halftime thing he’s ever done.
This game is so frustrating to watch.
Yeesh 36-22 3rd quarter. That is not ideal for winning a game on the road.
Let’s hope the bench can give them some juice.
