Podcasting Tonight! Ask us a question!
2012-05-16You probably all know the drill – we’re podcasting tonight and are taking one reader question. Â In the comments section post your questions and we’ll pick the best one. Â If you have a draft question save it for the next podcast, when we’ll have a nice long conversation about who the Cavs might select.
Extra props for the funniest/best question regarding the Cavs or the NBA in general.
Having recently wrapped up the 2011-12 ROY award with ease, what sort of improvement in particular can we expect from Kyrie in his 2012-13 campaign? There’s plenty of talk about the poise and maturity he shows for such a young player, but Byron Scott has spoken highly of Kyrie’s ceiling before. How quickly might Kyrie develop in the league and in what ways? I’m sure it is of note there will be an offseason in the NBA this year.
If everyone on the current Cavs roster was chosen for the Hunger Games, who do you think would die first?
oops didn’t see the no draft thing. But what do you think George Hill as a free agent pick up from the pacers. Young playoff experience can play the backup point and shooting guard. In my mind a younger slightly better less injury prone Gibson
Also what do you think of George Hill and Jeff Green who are both under the radar young free agents. How much would it cost to sign them and would it be a good idea?
Side note how great was LBJ’s choke?
Who do you think is the better fit with the Cavs team and the princeton offense, MKG or Barnes; not necessarily the better prospect . If you agree that Barnes might be the better fit and we end up with the 2 or 3rd pick would you be willing to trade down to 5 or 6 with the kings and have them take most of protection on the 1st that they owe us and take Barnes, Drummond, or Beal since one of those three will definitely still be there.
What free agents that are more under the radar young guys do you want to see the cavs pursue? I’m thinking of George Hill on Indy who will be tough for them to keep with having to resign Hibbert and their hopes for Gordon. Another guy is Jeff Green who if healthy I think can be an above average forward. We’s never really gotten a chance at a place where he can get serious minutes after playing behind Pierce and Garnett and Ibaka and Durant. I think both of these would be great signs that will be cheap
John beat me to the punch, yes if the Cavs are committed to not throwing big money at free agents this offseason doesn’t setting their eyes on Harden next season make perfect sense? The Thunder have to pay big money for Ibaka, Perkins, Westbrook and Durrant which leaves Harden as the odd man out. Can I propose a slogan “The Beard in 2013″(and his number is 13).
With Chicago out of contention (presumably) without Rose, who do you see other than the Heat being realistic contenders to not only make but win the Finals?
any chance of cavs signing harden, not this year but next?
How bummerish is it that the Cavs will never get another shot at the shitty Garnett/Rondo/Allen/Pierce squad that ruined so many of our championship dreams?
What semi-realistic roster move would absolutely freak you out? (Trading Kyrie doesn’t count, but something like paying Roy Hibbert $12-15 million or drafting Andre Drummond would)
Why are Luke Harangody’s eyes so close together, and am I the only one freaked out by this?
Do you think Greg Oden has a shot of getting healthy again and possibly living up to the potential everyone thought he had when he was first drafted? Also which team do you think he’d fit best if this were to happen? (Especially if you guys think the Cavaliers.)
Do you think the Cavs should consider signing Batum? Even if he’s demanding quite a bit of money, anything is a huge upgrade over Anthony Parker.
With Bosh out, do the Pacers have a chance to beat the Heat and keep alive Dan Gilbert’s guarantee that Cleveland would win a championship before Miami?
If you were a Clevelander and had a vote for Rookie of the Year, would you have picked Tristan Thompson? Kyrie was going to win anyways and it would have been fun for TT to get a vote. Something specious like this was apparently a good enough reason for someone to vote for Shumpert; why not Tristan?
Sort of piggy-backing off of what Aaron said, do you think Atlanta will blow their team up as well? I actually have thoughts of Atlanta and Chicago executing some trades together….If so, should the Cavs try for Marvin Williams as just a reliable NBA-caliber player?
If you were the Bulls, would you blow up that team this season, considering Derrick Rose is not going to play next season, and they have real needs for scoring? If this actually happened, which Bull pieces would you want for the Cavs?
Do you think it would be a good idea to sign someone like OJ Mayo or Michael Beasley to a contract this offseason or have we learnt by Larry Hughes/Donyell Marshall/Drew Gooden that overpaying above average role players is not a quick and easy short cut to putting pieces around a stud? Is it worth throwing $12 million at someone like Roy Hibbert, a legit 7+ footer who has proven himself and offer something Indiana can’t match?
