A Couple of Links
2012-08-22The Cavs moved way up in ESPN’s future rankings, apparently. That’s nice, for what it’s worth. Here’s the link, if Chad Ford and John Hollinger rankings are your thing.
Also, it appears everyone jumped the gun about the signing of Alonzo Gee, as well. It seems that there won’t be a deal before training camp. Sam Amico reports. Oh, and I guess the Cavs won’t be buying out Omri Casspi. Bummer.
Those are definitely wet dreams, and not prophecies. I want Gee on a 3-year deal. Even though to be fair, I keep dreaming that Waiters is going to win ROY.
Also I’d rather have Gee on a 1 year deal. I don’t see his price tag rising and I want room for Harden and Bynum just in case my wet dreams are actually a prophesy
Waiters looks like he’s dropped 10 pounds from his recent pictures and he’s been AWOL from Twitter because he’s been working on his game. Summer league doesn’t matter. I’m excited to see what he’ll do in the regular season.
There’s no point in cutting Cassepi. His contract is low and he’s still probably one of their 12 best players.
Amen, Corey Hughey. Waiters is a baller…he celebrated for a month after netting himself a nearly guaranteed $20 mil. Who can blame him? He’ll be a player.
It would be stupid for the Cavs to buy out Casspi right now unless he desperately wanted to leave the team. They need to see how things shake out when the team assembles and practices begin. Smart teams don’t buy out young players unless they are ridiculously overpaid or the team is in a salary CAP crunch. Neither applies to this situation with the Cavs. Waiting to see how Casspi fits into the mix of players seems like a wiser course of action. Buying out a young asset is used as a last resort.
