Preview: Nuggets at Cavaliers, February 18th
2010-02-18Relevant Statistics:
Pace: Denver 97.8 (5th) vs. Cleveland 93.2 (25th)
Offensive Efficiency: Denver 108.8 (3rd) vs. Cleveland 109.0 (2nd)
Defensive Efficiency: Denver 104.1 (16th) vs. Cleveland 100.3 (5th)
Notes:
Carmelo Anthony is good. Really good. LeBron probably guards him down the stretch, but he’ll do damage, especially if he can catch the ball close to the basket.
Chauncey Billups is a feast-or-famine guy. When he’s hitting pull-up threes, he’s hard to stop, but sometimes he can cause bad possessions. You know he remembers Cleveland, though.
The Denver bigs like to go at the rim over and over again. You must play them physically while trying to stay out of foul trouble.
Ty Lawson is a dynamo coming off the bench, but J.R. Smith is still waiting for his shot to return. Hopefully he waits at least one more night.
Cavs might be distracted by the trade deadline. They can’t be. This is a tough team, and the Cavs are about to have some tough road games.
Jamison is not expected to play tonight. Should still be fun, though. I’m excited to get back to basketball.
Real quick. Hickson, clearly improving, clearly has a big upside for the future and I’m glad we still have him. But, 30 minutes………….2 rebounds. Mike Brown needs to absolutely obliterate him in the locker room for that lack of effort on the boards. Just no reason for a guy with that body and that athleticism to get 2 boards in 30 minutes.
And the troll was succesful. Come on guys, we’re better than this. Don’t let a heartbreaker get to you.
@Jose. Yea, cause there is no doubt that New York roster has a ton of talent…or wait, am I thinking of a different sport completely?
Your mom was thinking, “Damn, I wish your dad would’ve worn a condom.”
Other Jason–the Bulls are local for me now so its the only time I get to see the Cavs in person.
At least NY has had some championships in the past 40 years. Now we’re going to get one of your hometown guys too. Oh, I hope the game tonight was fun. And I hope you all enjoy the losses in Charlotte and Orlando. I think LeBron realized tonight what a loser team he’s on. See the look on his face at the end of that game? He was thinking, “Damn, I wish I was in New York.”
17 missed FTs….I mean how can an NBA do this over and over?
Hey Peter, last time I checked this blog is a Cavs blog. If some moron wants to walk in here and talk smack, we’ve got every right to do it right back. And oh by the way, keep talking about those 37+ year old trophies. The Knicks haven’t been relevant in a decade, but 40 years ago they were good! Woohoo!
And since there’s something actually relevant going on.. Lebron is a sick athlete. Overtime now, and Lebron should have everything he wants.
peter- maybe you should hang a penis on your pelvis or at least quit fingering yourself while looking at pictures of lebron james in a photoshopped knick’s jersey.
wow, cavs fans talk smack. i think you guys should atleast hang a championship banner before you start talking about the Knicks.
Ben tej, I had the same idea! I can only make it to home games, but I want to be there when big Z gets his number called.
As for tonight, Denver has a lot more energy than we do right now. We’ve gotta fix that before this team runs away with it.
LOL @ Jose from NY. I don’t even think LeBron AND Wade could save the Knicks, they are garbage.
I got tickets to see the Cavs in Chicago on March 19th–what are the chances I get to be one of the first Cavs fans to welcome Z back to the team?
Billups will abuse boobie. Let’s forward to Hickson dominating and showing us what he can do.

Can’t really blame the guy for trolling with as bad as the Knicks’ season is going. Gotta do something to kill the time I guess.
Troll troll is troll.
Guess who’s funny? DELUSIONAL CAVS FANS!
Surprise! Windy tweets Mo will start tonight!
Guess who has enough D-leaguers to expand the league? THE KNICKS!
Better hope you pull off something that has never been done in the history of the NBA next off season, otherwise, you can enjoy another decade of lusting after other teams’ players.
Hey Cavs fans! Guess who has enough cap space to sign LeBron and D-Wade? Have fun with a Mo Williams led Cavs next season! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
By the way, your city sucks.
I’m as worried about the Nuggets as I am about the Lakers. Their strengths seem to play to our weaknesses to some degree (especially when they have the ball).
…That’s very vague. Hopefully the guys can pull this out, and hopefully Z not being around can be compensated for. Any word on whether Powe is cleared to play?
Cavs need to control the tempo in this one. Get Shaq going, slow the game down, get back in synch. Denver has a lot of scorers, can’t let them get out and run.
*small tear*
I really would have liked to see Jamison, even for 10 minutes on short notice! Alas, we cannot have everything we want.
…mmmm…nuggets…I thought I was the only person who thought of McDonalds each time I heard their name.
I am expecting a let down tonight with the All-Star break and lots of trade talk. I hope I am wrong.
