2010-02-19Relevant Statistics:
Pace: Cavs 93.2 (25th) vs. Bobcats 93.1 (26th)
Offensive Efficiency: Cavs 109.0 (2nd) vs. Bobcats 100.9 (24th)
Defensive Efficiency: Cavs 100.7 (6th) vs. Bobcats 100.6 (5th)
Notes:
Before we start, Sebastian Pruiti has a nice breakdown of the Cavs’ final play last night. Check it out.
This is a tough game. The Cavs are on their first back-to-back in a good while, and the Bobcats are a tough home team. Cavs have to be encouraged by the tough loss last night rather than discouraged.
Cracking the Bobcats’ defense will be the key. If this is Jamison’s first game as a Cav, these are the type of defenses he was brought in to play against.
The Bobcats are coming off a home loss to the Nets. We’ll see what that does to their psyche coming into this one.

Rich – The curse of Z is from trading our most consistent and loyal player for the last decade, not from him retiring. Besides, last I heard from Z was that he thought he had another year left in him.

THE CURSE OF Z is real folks. The Cavs are going to disappoint until that lovable Lithuanian returns.

So I ask again, what in the world are they going to do when he retires at the end of the season? Does this mean they will forever play poorly?

Nuggets lose to the Wiz by 10 tonight. Back-to-back on the road after and OT game, this is what happens.
I live in New York. Lots to like about it, just not basketball. Crazy high taxes. Horrible services. Dirty city that smells like garbage half the year. Squads of lunatic bums. Crap weather. Plus, speaking of crap, the NY press craps all over every sports figure here at every opportunity. Meanwhile the Knicks have been such an utter and unqualified disappointment for so long that it’s no wonder there are disgruntled trolls venting all over the blogosphere. We in Cleveland can definitely relate to disgruntled sports fans. Anyway, I doubt NY gets LBJ (even the sportswriters here are beginning to… Read more »
Agree with Carter. The good trolls aren’t so easy to spot. Usually, it takes quite a while of trolling to finally realize they are doing it. Jose, however, comes in with a megaphone and screams “I AM A TROLL!!!!” Gotta be more subtle guy.
Well, Jamison had a rough (awful) start, but law of averages will come into play here – You don’t go from 20-9 to 2-6 in 3 days. Give it some time guys, he’ll round into form at a 16-7 kind of player, and that’s all they need him to be.
Jose, you’re adorably crude with this trolling – Try adding some subtlety to what you’re doing. Anybody can be loud and obnoxious, it takes a fair amount more intelligence in order to be more inconspicuous with your goals than you are right now. I demand more out of my trolls.
Lol, just ignore him guys. Here is a NY fan who spends, what? 2-3 hours a day on a cavaliers blog? Clearly he isn’t working or going to school if he can spend this much time on a random teams blog. So, I guess living in mom’s basement gets kind of rough after a while and this is how you act. Anyway, defense was ugly again tonight. I dunno what Varejao was doing but he was lost all night on defense. LeBron too…no idea what he was doing on defense tonight. Stephen Jackson, a guy who loves to shoot his… Read more »
Bobcats present matchup problems for the Cavs. Plain and simple. The fact that they were able to score 110, though, says something about where the team was defensively tonight. It wasn’t meant to be. I tend to take extremes in early showings as slightly the opposite for future possibilities. After 7 games, who was the runaway ROY? Jamison cannot get worse. As a matter of fact, he’ll get better. I think he may even appear to thrive more, now that the expectations have essentially been lifted. It’s difficult not to be reactionary (I’m a teenage fanboy at heart), but for… Read more »
Kyle, why so crude? Oh, that’s right, Clevelanders speak in grunts.
Antawn… go away!
At least the one that “showed up” tonight
Trolling is a sign of small and insignificant genitalia, Jose.
Hey, Krolik, could you post the recap soon? I missed the final score.
Oh, and A, you’re being stupid. Jamison will do nothing to help the Cavs. Enjoy trying to get rid of that contract after LeBron has fled.
Hahahaha, Jim, you’re funny like every other Cavs fan. And showing your ignorance. Nearly every player from Team USA showered D’Antoni with praise. There are so many of them that would love to play for him. And take a quick look at the score of your game. Your big pick-up has done nothing yet, and none of the rest of this “championship-caliber” “team” has done anything. And what’s up with calling Gallinari “the Italian”? You trying to get racist on me bro? Gush, looks like another reason for LeBron to leave. Nothing but ignorant, racist, hicks in Cleveland. Now let… Read more »
I’m going to get killed for that, so I’ll retract it. But since I hated the trade, Jamison is now my least favorite player in the league. I know he won’t go 0-10 every game, but I think he’ll continually disappoint. I blogged about it.
WOW offensive coordinator for team USA!?!? Everyone KNOWS that international basketball is the exact same as the NBA. Seriously, you clearly know nothing, and I mean nothing, about basketball. If it’s all about the money Lebron stays. If its about winning a title he stays. The only way he goes to NY has to do with playing in the city itself. In fact, while we’re at it, give me the names of the NBA players who have left the max money on the table to sign for less. I’ll do it for you: NONE. Not one player has turned down… Read more »
Yeah but Mo is a shooter. KNOWS THE SYSTEM. Has played over a year with the Cavs. They know where to get him the ball for him to get his shots. Jamison’s FIRST GAME. Dude, start whining if after game 5 he’s still scoreless as a Cav. Let him get his bearings, let him get a feel for the way the Cavs play. Then we’ll see. For now, you’re being ridiculous. You can’t judge anyone in one game. You would think Stephen Jackson was the best player on the court if you judged only based on one game.
@Jim-You’re being ignorant. STOP. So many players would love to play with D’Antoni. Who was the Offensive Coordinator for Team USA? Oh, that’s right.
@ David and other Cavs fans- Kinda hard to ignore the butt kicking you’re getting from the ‘Cats. Boy this sure is the best supporting cast they could get for LeBron. I’m sure he loves losing to terrible teams.
@BradleyH- You’re awesome man.
ANTAWN JAMISON SUCKS!!!! 0-10! RUN HIM OUT OF TOWN!
Well, he’s still playing basketball, the object of the game hasn’t changed. And he was 0-8 at halftime. So, yeah I’m knocking him. BTW, Mo came in last night, hadn’t played or barely practiced in a month and he knocked down his early jumpers. Usually I’m not so herky-jerky and reactionary, but this Jamison thing is playing out like I thought.
You expected him to find his groove on a new team without training camp on his first game? Really? The first game and you’re already knocking him down?
Jamison is blistering the Bobcats! Man, that stretch 4 was the missing link.
Mike D’Antoni!!! Wow he’s won what, like 10 titles? No, maybe it’s 12. All I know is he is the greatest coach ever!! And he coaches in New York! It’s the best city in the world too because Jose says so!! And they have T-MAC!!! Who doesn’t want to play with a washed up journeyman who has never won a playoff series? And Wade for sure will leave Miami and 20 million on the table for New York. Why? Because its New Freaking York!!! So what if our team will be two all-stars, an overrated italian and then 9 scrubs,… Read more »
It’s a particularly nasty specimen. Try not to pay it any attention.
And you’re a douche with a terrible blog. You cavs fans always crack me up. Its not just about the supporting cast. We have Mike D’Antoni And we have the best city in the world. Plus, odds are, if Wade and LeBron sign, T-Mac will re-sign. And even if he doesn’t, Walsh managed to get rid of Jeffrie’s contract, don’t you think he can work more magic to build a great team around those two? Even if he can’t, who wouldn’t be willig to take less money to play with two of the greatest of all time? In New York… Read more »
Guys, Jose is just a troll. All a troll is trying to do is get a reaction from people. Don’t give him the satisfaction.
@Jose from NY. I’ve always been a big fan of Lebron because he makes smart basketball decisions. But for him to join the knicks this summer would be a foolish basketball move(even with D-Wade), and I don’t think I’d be able to root for him anymore. Basketball is still a team sport my friend. If the Knicks pick up Lebron and D-wade this summer it comes at the cost of having almost nothing else to support them out besides a young shooter in Gallinari (They can’t keep DLee). If I was Lebron, I’d be deciding between the Clippers and the… Read more »

So what is life really going to be like when you use those two max deals on Joe Johnson and Carlos Boozer? Better yet, GL with Gilbert Arenas next season. SHould be fun to watch that sideshow.
Give me the Bobcats over the bulls anyday.
I really hope the Bobcats don’t end up with the 8 seed. I’d really like to not have to deal with their defense in the first round
