Z Agrees to Buyout
2010-02-25According to the twitter of Windhorst, Zydrunas Ilgauskas has agreed to a buyout with the Wizards. Now it’s up to him whether or not he comes back to Cleveland, which is how it should be. He’s done enough for the franchise and the city to deserve support for whatever decision he ends up making. Hopefully he’ll decide to come back to Cleveland, but the most important thing is that Z’s fate is in his own hands. Honestly, the fact that Z can decide what happens to him from this point on is the most important thing for me.
All of that said, I’m counting the days until March 21st. Hurry back, Z.
And of course it’s all about the three of them in NYC. They could just as easily go someplace other than NY. But ZOMG NYC! As for our “sickening” sentiments towards big Z, there’s a concept called loyalty. I’m sorry if we feel that attachment towards a guy that HAS busted his ass for this franchise. Yeah, he made his pile of money, too. But in an age where nobody sticks with the team that drafted them for 10-15 years, seeing someone stick around and fight through some really shitty times is refreshing. The big guy has earned that much,… Read more »
What I find funny is that Gene, along with many others, seem to think that all they care about is winning championships. They may want championships, but I have a hard time believing they would all join one team to make it happen. Why? EGO. When was the last time two clear cut #1 options, in their prime (key phrase), joined the same team? As far as I know, that has never happened. And people think THREE #1 options are going to do it? Not only do they think it could happen, but they think all three players would be… Read more »
Perennial ESPN lol machine Gene Wojciechowski is on the FRONT PAGE for being the latest to discover how the Knicks could get Lebron, Wade, and Bosh all together.
Oh wait, he didn’t figure anything out…he just thinks they should all take a massive paycut to be on a superstar team…
Because New York having an all star team would be excellent for the sport of Basket-ball.
Anyway, it’s about 10 minutes of your life you’ll never get back. Awesome!
Honestly, I don’t understand where the thoughts that Z might sign elsewhere come from. I would assume from the same people who dedicate whole articles on the main highlight spot on ESPN to how sweet it will be when Lebron/Wade/Bosh all come to NYC. Bleh!
We all know Z isn’t going to sign elsewhere – why in the world would he? Z isn’t into messing around with Cleveland – outside of Lithuania, where else in the world would he be considered a hero?
I have a gut feeling Z will plan on playing some sort of practical joke on the city of Cleveland. I hope he consults his agent first.
get your tickets to the Mar 21 home game. C’mon mike brown give Big Z the start, the arena will explode for the big fella.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought the team worked better than it ever has when LeBron was officially the PG.
I think that is his future, and it’s time for them to make that shift. If they don’t, NY will.
I kid, i kid… even though i am a knicks fan.
sorry, that first sentence should have read “overLY- dramatic” instead of “over-dramatic.” grammar, kids!
the over-dramatic stuff written and expressed by cavs fans about Z has just about reached the sickening phase. the cavs stood by him when he was hurt, not the other way around. he was never a “bust yr ass” kind of player like andy or anything and he made a ton of money during his career. come on! i hope he comes back but ONLY because he seems to cause gasol some problems.
Can’t wait to hear the MASSIVE standing O the big man gets. He should start the game on the 21st, too, as a small token of gratitude.
Great news! Hopefully we can get Z back home in Cleveland where he belongs and we can get back to business.
I’m also really curious about when he’ll be back on the floor. I’m planning on buying a couple tickets and seeing the big man return.
Are we thinking he plays against Detroit March 21?
I’m not sure why Z wouldn’t come back here. Everything he’s done was for the franchise and for the betterment of the team, I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes his way back here if he is just happy that he was able to use his contract to bring in another talented player for the playoffs. (Loved “The Giving Z” btw) I would like to see the “The Dan Band” of Ferry and Gilbert pony up the full amount of the biannual exemption for Z if for nothing more than a token of gratitude for all that he’s done, and… Read more »
Z’s ego has probably taken a bruising this season in Cleveland but hopefully he doesn’t use that as a reason not to come back because if/when he comes back, I imagine he will receive one of the longest and loudest standing ovations in Cavs history his first game back.
