Shaq in the new Owl City video 2010-03-25 Off By John Krolik I have no comment. Links To The Present: March 25, 2010 David Mamet has some advice for the Cavaliers
Young seems to shy away from anything that in any way, shape, or form manages to even convey an inkling of bass. Part of the reason people like listening to the “OMGETHEREAL” ear candy, and part of the reason people try to claim he’s so “COOLER AND DIFFERENT”. Yeah, the Doors didn’t have a bassist either. (Not a true counterargument since Manzarek handled a lot of it, but not always) For all the layers of complexity that are purportedly present, as well, it ends up being mostly of the lazy variety as far as I can tell – it’s really… Read more »
Lol. Well John, as Owl City goes, this song is not very good. I mean Hello Seattle is cool and different. This song sounds too close to other pop songs and not transcendent like Fireflies (or another way to put it, women didn’t orgasm just by listening to this one). The video was mostly people staring up at clouds that at one point look like a woman….All-in-all the only truly redeeming quality is Shaq being Shaq. IMO that makes this video worth watching. Oh and this guy isnt gay either, I know a lot of people think that. He is… Read more »
ummm………. excellent cinematography…
That video made my night. Don’t ask. Lol
And Shaq did look thin, which fits with reports of him staying in excellent shape.
Video was funny, ya’ll need to chill out.
@max – shaq looked pretty thin in the video.
what’s with all the hate?
first off, postal service is to owl city as biggie is to lil wayne. second, shaq is about as relevant to this video as the components of that comparison were to one another. im so confused.. im gonna be pissed if shaq shows up for the playoffs looking like a hippo because he was too busy making cameos in gay synthpop music videos to work out.
How ironic that the original Superman who was so vocal about Dwight Howard ripping off his name now appears in one of the biggest rip offs of all time.
Postal Service called, they want their…everything back.
lol @ shaq mouthing “TAKE ME WITH YOU!”
@phi
super compression and auto tune.
this is too ridiculous for words.
This makes no sense. I can only assume that Shaq has previously appeared in a Postal Service video.
@Kevin: could it be because the vocalist is singing through some kind of multi-effect synthesizer? It sounds like the human voice reduced to a piece of industrial refuse.
Tremendous acting on all sides, wouldn’t you say? This cloying music video milks every last drop of sentiment it can from the idea of angelic apparitions in the sky. Irritating.
Wow that guy’s voice is hard to listen to.
Totally digging the epic Shaq smile at the end.
Test test. My comments don’t seem to be working…
