2013-09-14Two quick links today. Â First, a great article by Jack Winter about Dion Waiters’ improvement in 2013 compared to 2012. Â This is something that I refer to often via quick bullets, but Mr. Winter goes in depth. Â This is required reading for Cavalier fans.
Also, something by Will Leitch, who covered Cleveland in an installment of his Leitch Across America Tour. He concludes the article stating, he “was blown away by the people I met in Cleveland. This is a proud city, full of fantastic people. I loved every minute I was here.” Â The site, Sports on Earth, is also a location where our esteemed editor Colin McGowan frequently writes.
Thanks for linking to Winter’s article. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to continuing to watch Dion’s progression this season!

His ceiling is quite high, but not Kobe or Wade high, so I hope he works out.

The fact that they didn’t make it a possible convention center at the same time was basically inexcusable. The IX center absolutely sucks. The Jake is great, though. Jack Winter’s piece is interesting but misses the following problem with Dion: ballhandling is only half the picture. He desperately needs to learn how to play without the… Read more »
Nate,
Absolutely true about Dion; defense needs to improve too, and his left hand. He was a 21 year old rookie though, and the tools he flashed during the last four months of the season definitely provide a base to build on. I think a lot of people assume he’s already a bust that could never justify the fourth pick; I really hope this year proves otherwise.
