2010-05-20“Windhorst first met James in 1999, when the player was a freshman at St. Vincent-St. Mary High in Akron. Like James, Windhorst also attended St. Mary’s and the reporter’s mother, Merrylou, taught health and religion there. “I like to joke that she taught LeBron sex ed, and she also taught that to me, too,” he said.” [Richard Deitsch – SI]
“Kevin Garnett talked about getting out while you can, but guys like Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant have stayed. Bryant wanted to leave the Lakers a couple years ago, but he sure looks happy there now. Paul Pierce never left Boston, though things were pretty bleak at times. He seems happy.
For every example of a guy leaving and finding the pot of gold, there are more who stay and are even happier. (Heck, at this point, Shaquille O’Neal looks like a vagabond.)” [Pat McManamon – Fanhouse]
A look at how Cap Holds affect the Cavs this summer
Taking Danny Ferry to Task for 2005 Moves
Insider Trading Now Legal, Apparently
Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora wrote on the Playmaker Mobile website that James should avoid New York. “Personally, I think he should stay in Cleveland. I will say this, if he does come to New York, don’t have a bad game. Not one, because Knick fans will come down on him. It goes both ways.” [Marc Berman – NY Post]
And still won’t let me post my real comment
Of course the comment I just typed out of frustration that adds nothing substantive did go through
WHY ARE NONE OF MY COMMENTS GOING THROUGH??
Rich, you shouldn’t expect Mo Williams to play better. But that’s my point! Why is the “second” best player on the Cavs Mo Williams? Why has Danny Ferry saddled Lebron with back of the draft talent? Lebron is the only player of his stature being asked to win a championship with 4th and 5th options. Kobe has Pau, Nash has Amare,Dwight has Nelson,Carter and Lewis. Lebron? He’s steps into battle with Anthony Parker and Andy V. The whole point of stacking your team with as much front of the draft talent as possible is so that when your superstar player… Read more »
Supposedly the sixers are willing to give up the #2 pick if a team takes Elton Brand…think the Cavs could swing a deal there to bring in a good young player? I don’t really want Brand for the next 3 years, but the Cavs won’t have a ton of cap space anyway if they resign LeBron, and if it brings in a young star it’d be worth it. It’d be a huge gamble of course, but I could see the Cavs making a desperation move to bring in young talent.
Still doesn’t excuse LeBron having a bad series. Talent isn’t great, but it was enough to win a title in the league this year, when imo the overall talent is down. I say this because the 2nd, and 3rd best players in the league were on non-contenders. Throw in more top 10 players like Bosh and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best centers in the league being on non-contenders (or hurt completely), and to me, this is a fairly down year overall. Just my opinion though. Next year it is going to be signicantly tougher. Wade is going to be… Read more »
Taking Danny Ferry to task for 2005 moves is excellent. I’ll never fully understand why lebron is expected to win championships in a way that no other great talent in the history of the league is/was expected to. For the all MJ,Magic Johnson talk, people conventiently forget who these men played with and were coached by. If you want Lebron to lead the Cavs to the promised land, then there has to be an upgrade in talent. If you don’t believe that just go back and look at what Jordan did before Pippen and Grant joined the Bulls. Or, better yet look… Read more »
I’m not sure if someone brought this up, but this was posted at a message board I frequent:
“Remember everyone the Celtics do have Nate “kryptonite” Robinson…Maybe that’s why Howard is playing bad at times he gets to close and becomes mortal lol”
i chuckled
Dwight Howard’s nickname should be Bizarro… not Superman
(Superman villain reference)
Just saying i’m still reading, but mostly too depressed to post anything.
