can’t wait till it gets to cleveland!!!
To all the people who have said “look he gave you 7 years, you should be grateful” – yes I understand that. I’m a Cavs fan and I’m glad i was able to watch him play and root for him, but the WAY he went about this whole deal was just a big kick to the nuts. Having the whole city under such stress and then slaps us in the face is unreal, classless and egotistical. I dont wish him anything. I wont watch his games and will change the channel if and when ESPN is talking about him. He… Read more »
Quit bitching and saying if you were a true Lebron fan you would still like him…….what a dumb argument. Lots of people did like him because they thought he was a standup and loyal guy. Many didn’t know until a few weeks ago he is basically just another prick NBA young guy….who just happens to be from Akron. Now he is showing his true colors and many of these Lebron deserters have good reason to hate him now because he was fake. He gave the same damn scripted answers, handpicked gay ass Jim Gray……made this all into a spectacle probably… Read more »
By the way, you could have saw this coming. Let’s be honest….he surrounds himself with a “team”….people like Maverick Carter who haven’t even graduated college. LeBron’s “team” is in it for one reason only….$$$. Then the guy has the balls to wear a Yankees hat to an Indians playoff game? I mean, really? He is 25 years old….he doesn’t know a damn thing about baseball and all the Yanks have done is win in the last 15 years since he probably has supposedly followed them. No, he liked them because they had all the money, titles, glamour, etc. Whenever someone… Read more »
Mavs fan living in Chicago here….I am sorry you guys are going through this. It’s just a damn shame that so many players are like this now….it speaks volumes about a guy like Dirk who took 16 million less (and saved his team another 16 mil for being over salary cap) because he wanted to stay true to an organization and city who have supported him. LeBron is an ass for doing this on national TV. DWade is a punk, too. Him and Bosh wined and dined in Chicago all last week trying to act as if DWade was interested… Read more »
Alright, this coming from a Suns fan, I used to love LeBron James. LOVE him. I respected him and his game. But what he did to Cleveland tonight has made me lose all respect for him. What he did was despicable and proves that he doesn’t think of himself as the best athlete of our generation, but the opposite: he doesn’t have faith in himself and in Cleveland to win a championship, so he bolts to Miami where D-Wade and Bosh can do the dirty work for him. Jordan played with a good, not GREAT Bulls team his first seven… Read more »
We are all witnesses to a bigger fraud than A-Rod!!!
Interesting question though, about Lebron trying to recruit Bosh to Cleveland: I realize that was reportedly the case, but from the transcript of Wilbon’s interview with Wade and Bosh, Bosh mentioned he thought about Cleveland but didn’t know whether or not Lebron would be there. Additionally, at that point, the three of them joining in Miami was as much of a logistical possibility as it was tonight (or this morning when Lebron supposedly decided), and that had to come up…. I always found that strange and don’t really know what to make of it – just opening the can of… Read more »
Heat fan here, my heart goes out to you guys, and as excited as I am and as good as I think we’ll be I think I’d still rather have seen LBJ stay and win at least one for you guys. That said, and while I totally agree LeBron handled his “decision” announcement all wrong, I never thought your fanbase had the healthiest relationship with him. An entire region of the country putting 40 years of history on the shoulders of a kid drafted straight out of high school? It was too much, and I hope going forward you guys… Read more »
Give lebron a break, just cus he was born there he doesnt owe cleveland anything. He saw a great opportunity and took a significant pay cut in order to pursue a championship with two great friends of his. Everyone criticized him for not winning a ring despite the fact that his second best player was mo williams. He gave cleveland seven great years and played through his contract, kobe didnt even wait to till his was up before he pouted and demanded a trade. Lebron did what he thought was best, sacrifiicing both money and stastics by joining the heat… Read more »
As a Bron fan I am very happy. Lost the sadness for Cleveland after Dan Gilbert’s pathetic piece on the website.
*correction*
Well Byron, good luck with what personnel you have left for a team. Hang in there Cleveland, at least you have a decent coach for rebuilding.

What’s surprising isn’t that he’s leaving – I think Cleveland fans must have known it was a possibility, and certainly for the last 24 hours the Miami rumor had been prevalent. There are some interesting things to note about the way it went down though. You know what was conspicuously absent in the hour long special? Any real mention of appreciation for the fans. I don’t know, maybe we don’t deserve his appreciation, but it seems like he could have faked it if he wanted to. It’s not just that the hour long special to announce his decision always reaked… Read more »
Whoever said bad karma will haunt them is right. Just remember when the Lakers added Gary Payton and Karl Malone and they lost embarassingly to a team-oriented Pistons team. And that Lakers squad had it all! Point Guard, Shooting Guard, Power Forward, and Center! The Heat will be a tall PG (LBJ), and shooting guard (Wade) and a finesse power forward (Bosh).
How does that knife feel?
He’s a born loser who cares where he goes.

Gilbert’s statement: http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/gilbert_letter_100708.html
Holy shit, Gilbert went off.
“You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal. You have given so much and deserve so much more.”
Gilbert: “I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS”
Dan Gilbert is now my favorite owner in all of sports. If anyone has read his open letter, you will have to agree.
Thanks for the great years Lebron. We will miss you and I’ll always remember the years that you were here with us. Go Cavs!!!
LoL @ LeBron fanatic, “…rooting for the city of Cleveland and not LeBron himself.” Yes, it’s quite a common occurrence for sports fans to root for the TEAM rather than the INDIVIDUAL.
Trd23 is actually right kobe has a host of great players around him. Look at Bos they have as much talent as LA. The cavs had noone with lebron and he knew that they were not gonna attract the big stars so he took his ball and left. to me i feel your guys pain it sucks i know indy would be rocked if peyton left to play somewhare else. But its a business and the pacers will have another team to compete with for a lottery pick.
the TRUE LEBRON FANS WILL FOLLOW LEBRON WHEREVER HE GOES. those who hate him just loves Cleveland and not LEBRON.
the guys who burned the jersey of Lebron should be ashamed of themselves. you don’t have respect for a guy who put your city in the map, brought you to the playoffs, and stayed with you for 7years.
@TRD23 I dunno about that. LBJ is also good friends with Chris Paul. If the Cavs got some role players/clear up some cap space for 2012, they could pick up CP3. A brilliant PG might be just what they needed. Who knows, maybe CP3 might have even had that Steve Nash/PHX synergy where he maximized the abilities of his mediocre role-player teammates. Oh well. No point in going further with that idea…
@ Mister Pie. totally agree with you. Lebron cannot get that ring in cleveland.
A TRUE LEBRON FAN WILL RESPECT THE DECISION OF LEBRON. it seems to me now that those who hate Lebron are just rooting for the city of Cleveland and not Lebron himself.
I really do not understand the reaction.
Disappointment and frustration – sure thats understandable.
But how can anyone be angry with LeBron for leaving CLE?
There was no way a championship was coming in the next couple of years – so he is suppose to stay out of loyalty?
And the king without a ring has left the building. Good luck. hope you don’t become another Steve Nash.
it was the right move for to try to win championships in the future. didn’t anyone watch his documentary? in theory Bosh and Wade are his good friends. whether that’s true or not, who knows? he really enjoyed playing with his 4 friends and winning the state title, this is just an extension of that.
Go suck ESPNs corporate d|ck. “Best of luck to lebron and the heat” you have to be kidding me.
I didn’t know class was at play in the lebum (hehe) saga. Be a man and tell us how you really feel.
I can feel ur guys rage. Who’s to blame tho? Owner? Gm? Or LBJ himself?
if he stays, shaq’s unlikely to return, & any major upgrade would cost u west, varejao, and hickson (Your entire bench). You’re not beating ORL with nobody to guard D12 and no bench. and you are NOT beating the lakers with no bench.
Good luck Lebron.
I can’t blame him for leaving — I probably would have left too. If he stayed here there is a pretty legitimate chance that he could have ended up with zero rings.
@Excel its amazing how u people think u know lebron when u haven’t had one conversation with him. What makes u think he made his mind up months ago? There’s no way u can prove that.
