I like how Jamison responded to some of the questions. He came off honest and didn’t say anything negative. Him saying it was a ‘blow’ when LBJ left and that they realized they didn’t have chemistry seem like fair statements. He also touched on Gilberts ‘issue’ without harping on it or saying anything negative about that team. Classy! maybe a bit political but classy all the same. It will be interesting to see what his role will be like next year. Wish that he was asked about this year’s team and the prospect of him coming off the bench and… Read more »
jamison will also be giving up 25 points and 10 rebounds while he scores his 20/10.
that’s been the story wherever he has played.
As For Jamison, I’m excited to see him become the focal point of the offense. He’s a gamer and a 20/10 guy.
Here’s the moral of the story, MB coached like poo, and LBJ quit. Though too be fair to MB, we’ll never know how good of a coach he is/could be until he goes somewhere else, cause LeBron affected EVERYTHING with the Cavs to the degree that it’s impossible to judge MB as a coach. Who knows if LBJ even ran the plays he called?
I think where you’d see the most impact of bad chemistry on the court is on the defensive end. Particularly with the Cavs, offense seems to be a more individualized segment of the game (as Hillside pointed out with the chemistry not making Mo shoot poorly). It is important for communication on defense, though. So … In the regular season, their average points against per game was 95.6. In the post season it was 98.9. Defensive efficiency in the regular season was 101.5 and decreased to 103.7 in the post season. However, the story doesn’t end there as I suspected.… Read more »
Hillside- you clearly didn’t watch the second half of the regular season then. The Cavs were playing like the Phoenix suns team but still could play lockdown defense in the 4th quarter..hence the 61-21 record. For that stretch of games they had a fast and athletic frontline (andy, hickson, jamison). Then came the playoffs.. Shaq. Came. Back.
Shaq and Jamison got 1 game of play together before the playoffs. They went front small ball to old ball overnight. Chemistry was everything.
Also, I’m not sure chemistry was that big of a deal. Unless chemistry issues caused Williams to shoot terribly, I don’t know it has much of an impact. It’s not entirely strange for this kind of information to leak out but they were supposed to be such a close group, going to the movies and all that jazz.
He wasn’t dissing Williams. He was dissing a teammate who was dissing Williams. Since he was talking about unselfish play, it would have been strange for him to indict himself as selfish.
What about Shaq dissing Mo Williams? More and more, that locker room appears worse than we thought.
