Live Thread: Cavs vs Hawks

Last time the Cavs completely blew out the Hawks – raining fire down from the heavens. They held Kyle Korver to zero 3s if I remember correctly. The Hawks just seemed demoralized by about midway through the 2nd quarter. They were missing DeMarre Carroll (a Tom Pestak favorite) at the time and they’ve been pretty good this season although they’ve had an easy schedule. Should be a tough game!

OUCH —THAT ONE HURT—- understand it is only 1 game and it is still early December but we need to be honest— THIS PRESENT ROSTER IS NOT A CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER DEFENSIVE TEAM— I am not saying to go into panic mode and make a trade just to trade—but hopefully the ” higher ups ” are doing their homework and have a game plan to strengthen this weakness sometime this season —-heavens forbid we cut or trade a.j price—he would come back ( off the bench of course ) and ” torch us for 35pts

The Hawks could literally just walk up the court, make one pass, and shoot a three every single possession right now and would average exactly three points per possession.
Hawks an otherworldly 16-28 on threes for a cool 57%. 67% overall for the game. Just scorching

haha! I was thinking that. I can only imagine that Blatt and Co. plan these games to take out the usual threats and say “If a scrub beats us, so be it.” First half the plan was going great (Korver and Horford we’re pretty quiet) until the Mack truck hit us from 3.

Yeah, problem with trading with Minny now is that Flip doesn’t want to do anything to make the Wiggins for Love swap look like it tilts in Cavs favor. He in no way wants to help KLove be any better than he has to.

I had been talking up Luke during the 2012 season (I think) when he got sent down and called up for what seemed like his personal purgatory. The next year my son asked when Luke would play. Then he was at daycare they did a memory board. He wanted a hard hat on it. This year he asked if he made the team. I think it was the continual reinforcement stuck in his head. Love watching scrubs like Antic outplay Love on that rebound.
I know the three-point percentage is something of an aberration…but the Hawks are shooting 74% on two-point attempt…is that some sort of NBA record if it continues?
Did Blatt let them all take naps at halftime? Or did they all catch Love’s flu? What a freaking boatrace that third quarter turned out to be.
My wish for the 4th quarter….to see lebron happily skipping back to the bench with one minute to play.
Play the scrubs in the 4th quarter and get the starters some rest.

I’m sorry, but the cavs are overrated. How do you defend this performance? The team is healthy. They’re also shallow on D. Enough time has passed and coaching staffs have their number. They essentially overplay on every defensive assignment so the team is playing 5-4. Always an open man. Get it together, Blatt.
Shocked that I am about to type this but, the Hawks are playing swarming defense. It’s a clinic out there.
