Live Thread: Cavs @ Celtics
2015-04-12Whoops! Time got away from me on a home improvement Sunday, so I’m throwing up the live thread a little late. Cavs face the Celtics for the second time in two games, and are sans J.R., Kevin, LBJ, and Kyrie. A tall order is in store for the zoo crew. After one quarter they’re hanging in. Let’s hope it keeps up. Go Cavs.
The Cavs came too close to winning against Boston on Friday. This resulted in Blatt sitting half the team. It looks like we know who we want to play in the first round.
Mission accomplished!
In line to face the Celtics in the first round. Rested the starters. Would be have awesome if they could have magically competed better with the 2nd unit, but what are you gonna do.
Delly’s gonna play 10-15 minutes. He’ll be fine.
Exactly! Love the Mission Accomplished!
not going to ” jump off a building ” with the past couple of defeats and I am a delly supporter—but I would like a more pure back up pt gd who can break down a defense with dribble penetration / passing—-delly is at max a 15 min / game player —anymore and his weaknesses are exposed —am glad that the others– especially the matrix are getting some of the rust worked off—we will need valuable minutes from them / 3-5 minute spurts
I think the problem I am worried about is taking care of all of our salary cap issues and then needing to find a back up pg for next season? Who will play under another veteran’s minimum? Are we now relegated to rolling the dice on whatever veteran will perform for us? The jury is still out on Marion, Miller, JFJ, and Perk (although this last one appears to be a bit more black and white). Just seems like an uncertain risk. Must hope for a pg in the draft.
Both the Spurs and Warriors have great bench play and that will give them a great advantage come playoff time. I believe that the Cavs can make it to the finals but if they have to go against the Spurs I fear that they are going to get beat again… Maybe in 5 or 6. Maybe the Cavs only chance will be if they face any other team not name Spurs because then they will be matched up against a team that hasn’t been to the finals like them. So I personally hope the Cavs don’t have to face the… Read more »
Nope. The top 8 players is all you need. Cavs have a good 8 plus miller and Marion could help if needed. Teams win in the playoffs because of their starters not their bench.
The Cavs have a good 8? Cols, have you come around on Delly?
Haha, I knew someone would catch that. He’s not awful. It would be nice to upgrade him, but as an 8th man he’s adequate. Just don’t expect good man to man defense from him.
LOL. Cols is a Delly fan now. I’ve seen it all
I can tolerate him in the playoffs for 10 minutes a game. If that makes me a fan…
Picture from this game that I have feeling would fit the recap very well.

Hahaa , So True. Boston outplayed the Cavs in every facet of the game, I mean damn I didnt see no effort out there
2nd Quarter: Cavs =9, Celtics 34. Halftime Cavs: 31 / Celtics 55 . Watching the fourth quarter on Friday and this game so far just reiterates the fact that we have no bench depth AT ALL. Cavs right to rest the starters now cause they going be playing heavy minutes next weekend, tsk. Let’s see if the Cavs have some pride and step up so we dont get blown out more in the second half.
The only chance the Cavs will have to win the championship this year is if the Cavs starting 5 can play 42 per game.
Im convinced that the Cavs need to find a better back up PG than Delly. A better playmaker. Delly can’t get this team into their offense. He is just a decent spot shooter.
42 minutes per game *
Totally Agree, in my opinion, we are only 7 deep, only descent persons of the bench or Iman and Tristan and even Iman is streaky imo.
The Cavs are playing sloppy on offense and not hard enough on defense, it’s going to be a long game. I mean really 5 points only in da 2nd quarter so far.
As I wrote it, cavs turned it over for the 11th time, giving the Boston 16 points off our turnovers, SMH
