Totally off topic: I’m amused by the career choices of our friend, Bill Simmons. Can’t wait to see what he gets up to post-ESPN.
Here’s a nice article on him: http://www.theonion.com/article/bill-simmons-releases-2000-page-book-exploring-how-28666

What is amusing to you about his career choices? Seems quite successful, no?
I think this is the game that Rose finally has a good game after one days rest. I also think Cavs win.
I think the Bulls will start strong in front of their home crowd. They absolutely spanked us early in Game 1 and it made it difficult for us to win. I don’t think they pull ahead that much early on. I agree, I think we win this one. LeBron will flirt with a triple double and score 30+ again. Kyrie will score plenty. JR will make up for his suspension and hit 5 threes.
Boom!
It’s too bad Shump is dinged up, but luckily it wasn’t something more serious like a groin tear.
If he can come back healthy and finish out the playoffs playing like he has in Games 1 and 2, we could be looking at a break out performance for him. Maybe he realizes the potential the Knicks saw in him.
LeBron-Kyrie-Love-Shumpert could be a formidable “Big 4.”
Love it when Nate calls in. It’s almost more of a Cavs: the Podcast.
Just saw a comment on cavs.com board that Tony Brothers and Co. are officiating tonight… just awesome.
Also, Shump is a “game time decision”
If Shump could give them 10 minutes it would be huge..Great point about Thibs running players into the ground. You’d think Butler would get a breather when LeBron checks out. Fine that they aren’t. Thibs ran up Deng’s minutes, and there’s been a knock in Noah’s engine in the past could second rounds of the playoffs. Butler is older than you’d think. He turns 26 in September. He’s definitely worth a max contract, but the tail end could be rough.
Good pod. I’d pay Tristan his money with the impending cap explosion. He does the little things that are hard to find in free agency, he’s an energy guy, and he’s never hurt(anti-Andy). I also think he’s highly intelligent and still developing (only 24). He learned to shoot FT with his opposite hand. He’s become somewhat of a Rodman O-bounder in the last 2 years. If Lebron told him, hey we need you to shoot mid-range jumpers like Z used to, I don’t doubt he’d come in next season with that shot down and somewhat effective. Let’s just chalk the… Read more »
I’d also sign Shump to a long-term deal.
Tristan’s relative health is a VERY good point. Dude is as dependable as death and taxes.
Speaking of Hack-a-shaq, I just read this article: http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2015/story/_/id/12842752/nba-gimmicky-fouls-hackneyed-philosophy
where J.A. Adande said the same thing I said a few weeks ago, i.e., that fouls away from the basket for a player not committing a defensive play on the basketball should be free throws and possession, using the rules that are already in place.
tooting own horn off now. :)
