Final Finals QuickHit: Warriors 105, Cavs 97
2015-06-17Though the Cavs season ended with a disappointing loss to the 2015 Champion Golden State Warriors, in the coming days, the sting should be lessened when we all take some time to reflect and recognize just how amazing this Cleveland playoff run ultimately was.
In the end, early turnovers, missed free throws and a tough shooting night contributed to put the Cavs in a hole they struggled to dig themselves out of. These elements, combined with the mounting fatigue of playing such a short rotation of able bodies, brought the Cavs up two games short of their first title.
They fought until the bitter end, but ultimately just ran out of gas, while the Warriors just couldn’t seem to miss on their big threes when they had to make them. The difference maker, once again, turned out to be Andre Iguodala, who rightfully earned the Finals MVP trophy. LeBron would have also had to be a strong candidate (even in the loss), after putting up ungodly averages of 36/13/9 (including 32/18/9 in Game 6). But to the winners usually goes the MVP, and Iggy was a huge factor on offense and also with his defense on LeBron.
In the NBA the future is severely unpredictable. Â On one hand, if you add two current All-Stars to a team that just won two games in the Finals, the future is, almost by definition, blindingly bright. Â But we are acutely aware that injuries, bad luck, match-ups, Murphy’s law, really anything can happen. Â One thing I believe we can count on in the coming years, the Cavs are going to go DEEP into the luxury tax, and Dan Gilbert will gladly fit the bill. Â Also, G5 LeBron with that small-ball lineup was pretty dominant on the low block. Â Keep an eye out.
The motivation to win CLE a ring is all because of and for YOU. We will keep grinding until we deliver….

Look for a full recap in the coming hours…
Get needed rest Cavs ! Will get powered up in 3 months. Off season will be interesting. Who stays, who goes, how do we get stronger? Such a long , long season.
Love to Lakers? Blatt getting fired? Shump and JR not coming back? LBJ looking at other teams?
Just wanted to give everyone a quick a preview of Windhorst’s next set of articles on the Cavs.

Good god….Winfhorst feeds on the Lebron drama like Dracula does on blood.
You bring in Lebron, you bring in the soap opera, too, no doubt. Windhorst just has made a living on it.
Yeah seen it on twitter literally moments after the game was over.
I thought Windhorst was a legitimately good sports journalist when he wrote for the Plain Dealer. Am I misremembering? It seems like he’s become a lot worse.
I think he’s the same. He’s always been a decent writer He’s always been gossipy, that’s his thing.
He’s been WRONG a lot and I mean ALOT
No doubt in my mind Cavs win this seires if healthy. I know I sound bitter, but I was underwhelmed by Warriors. Cavs were so limited, and they still pushed the Warriors. Warriors has easiest possible path to Championship.
Yes, I think our good defence exposed some of their players – Klay Thompson for one.
I must say though, while they appear cocky I think most players on GSW appreciate their luck in Love / Irving being out, particularly their veteran bench players (who proved the difference).
Not part of this group is Draymond Green, who is probably surprised he didn’t win the MVP.
We love you. Thanks for your best.
Cavs in nine!
Cavs in nine!
Cavs in nine!
Blatt giving a classy, classy presser right now. Giving big props to the Warriors and big thanks to everyone in the Cavs organization. I hope he sticks around for a while.
Okay, so that wasn’t live. Whatever, it was great.
That 4th quarter was exciting, anyway. If the Warriors miss a couple of those open threes, who knows. I would be a lot more upset if Curry had gotten MVP. I thought Ig deserved it, and earned it.
What is underlying on Iggy getting MVP is Cavs defense. Because Cavs defense locked on the Splash Bros & made Bogut a non-factor, Warriors had to go elsewhere to get the productivity they needed to win. That person was Iguadula . He was productive on both ends. Klay, Bogut were non-factors and Steph didn’t get going until mid-series. But an under manned team couldn’t defend all of them. Iggy played some PG and really led their team more than Steph. On Another funny side note. . Some Warrior fans believe Delly spoiled his chances of Finals MVP because Delly did… Read more »
