Live Thread: Cavs vs. Raptors (#RevengeTour2016)
2016-01-04It’s a new year… with a new outlook and the thick of the NBA season ahead. Yet, some things linger from 2015… like the bitter taste of defeat at the hands of Eastern Conference foes. The Toronto Raptors were one of the few teams that had the Cavs’ number in the 2015 portion of the schedule, delivering a 103-99 loss during Thanksgiving week up north. So now… it’s payback time, as the wine & gold look to treat the Raptors more unkindly than their stadium steps treated their rollerskating dino mascot a few years ago…
This game will actually mark the last time the Cavs will play in the friendly confines of the Q (where they are 14-1 on the season) for the next two weeks. Then it’s onto a six game roadie that includes the annual Texas three-step. The Cavs look to be at or near full strength, with only Kevin Love a game time decision due to illness. The Raptors, who have built a surprising 21-14 record to lead the Atlantic Division, will have their work cut out for them with defensive specialist, and designated LeBron guarder, DeMarre Carroll out of the mix with a swollen right knee. Still, they’ll have big man, Jonas Valanciunas, back for this one after he missed the Raps’ win back in November.
If the Cavs can continue their good run of stringent defense, while working out of their recent team wide shooting slump, it should be a good night to serve up a little revenge on their Canadian guests. Prediction: Cavs trip up the Raps, and the dinos come crashing down 106-91.
I made it to the Q tonight. Fun game to watch. Last time I was there Kyrie scored 55. This year he has his first big game of 2015-16 season.

Tebow won a lot of games, including a playoff game (with his arm).
Well, I said not much talent, and I think that fits Tebow pretty well. And his record was 8-6 in regular season, 1-1 in playoffs, and 9 wins doesn’t qualify as a lot. (plus I believe about 5 of those wins were smoke and mirrors, dumb luck comebacks)

I gotta believe it’s a hell of a lot more fun to play on the Mavs this year than the Clippers.
Mad have a great coach and know how to win with less talent than most and Cuban treats his players with respect. Who wouldn’t love it there?

Great win. But the Cavs coaching staff need to take a look at how to defend those high and elbow pick n rolls. Most of them end up in layups and looks like teams with quick attacking guards are taking advantage of that weak defense.
They might have been on the case already. It looked like they were doing something to get a third defender involved on some of them in the 4th quarter, which disrupted to Raps.
That was a fun game!
All starters in double digits and delly off the bench with 11. 3 players with 20+ points. Delly and Lebron with 8 and 7 AST respectfully and TT with 11 rebounds. Kevin with 3 blocks and 2 steals
Delly ended up with a decent game after a pretty lousy first half.
Lowry is one tough bad ass to defend prob more than Curry because of his size.
Man. I can’t stand the guy but I can’t get over little Cavs fans think of Curry. There is NO ONE (not anyone) tougher to guard than Steph Curry right now. The reason for that is quite simple. There is not a single player in the league that can check Curry 1 on 1. Not one. There are a few people that can do it to LeBron. A few people that can do it to Durant. We will have to ask Delly himself since he is the one killing himself to guard both. LoL I’m simply trying to point out body mass comparison. No doubt Curry is tougher in respect to quickness. I was referring to body mass wise. You are going to feel Lowry slamming into you. I think (in all due respect) people dismiss and minimize how tough Lowry is to defend and contain.
