Live Thread: Cavs @ Rockets
2016-01-15The Cavs are playing their third installment of their tour of the Texas triangle with a matchup with the middling Houston Rockets. The Rockets went from being in the conference finals last season to trading for a drunk, firing their coach, and currently stand seventh in a surprisingly shallow Western conference. The Rockets (21-19), have won six of their last ten, and have slowly picked up steam from their slow start.
The game will mark the last of the Cavs six game road trip, their longest of the season. They’ve been road warriors thus far winning four of five after coming up short against the Spurs in the fourth quarter when they were obviously running on fumes from the OT thriller two nights before in Dallas. Coming into their contest with the Rockets, the Cavs have racketed up the frequent flyer miles with 4,590 miles on the trip. Hopefully, the team will have a little left in the tank.
Let’s Dish!
Watching these player interviews and they are almost shouting at Blatt to get Andy in more especially from Kyrie. “I’ve missed Andy on the pocket pass. It’s another way to score . I’ve played with him 4 years. We have chemistry. He knows where I want to go. I trust him” He further explained how much it makes it easier on the team to play less minutes and have him in there with his energy. His tone was very firm slightly emphatic. I’d say they are getting annoyed at the short rotations.
Cavs won the rebounding battle 49-40. Cavs missed a ton of open looks, but they are manufacturing great looks. Very surprised and it’s awesome the Cavs came out and took care of business.
Good night fellas!!! On to Golden State!
WARRRIORS…. COME OUT TO PLAYYAY!
At least the Cavs will have one more day rest than GS, as I think they play at Detroit tomorrow. I wonder who Vegas will favor.
And dude, you can’t be a movie guy, make that post, and not give us a pic or a clip!
I’ll bring the Vegas numbers to ya before game time!!!
Or this one if you prefer…
LOL Delly is in the back seat.
Hahaha! Hilarious EG! Perfect way to end a great night…and darn good road trip!
You do know how that movie ends, right?
Of course… but it’s still hilarious….
Well the toughest road trip of the season is over fellas. Hope everyone gets some good rest tomorrow. Sleeps, gets some warm home cooked food. Then back to work on Sunday for Monday will be a mountainous task.
Really liked seeing Varejao on the floor tonight…I’ve been hoping Blatt would get him some PT…They could have used his defensive energy last night for a few minutes here and there against the Spurs last night….He could have frustrated D West a little bit I think…I hope Blatt keeps him in the rotation…
Oh yes he has an unbelievable knack to annoy & pester them off their game.
Good win. Wouldn’t have been surprised by a lackluster effort, and while it showed the first 6 minutes or so, after that they took control of the game, and the Rockets were the team that quit.
Tristan played outstanding tonight. Andy led the team in +/-. USE THAT BENCH
Yea, I’m surprised Andy didn’t get any run in the 2nd half.
It’s like a pattern with Blatt. The very end guy only plays 1st half.
Its not a terrible idea. A guy that rarely plays gets some run, then sits for an hour. Its smart not to play him again, particularly an older injury prone dude.
Does Kaun pick up his feet when he runs or does he skate his way down the floor?
I think that does it for the night!
Good win. Gotta clean up the mental mistakes though.
Maybe less back-to-backs
At least they made them in a game like this though…
WHAT IS THAT COMING OUT OF KAUNS HAND
Did you guys see that FT? TT looks like Mark Price in comparison
Man, I have a hankerin’ for an AM crunchwrap for some reason.
KAAAAAUUUUUUUNNNNNNN!!!!
They need that William Shatner/Capt. Kirk drop for whenever Sasha misses a free throw…
JOnes never played. Weird.
Delly still using his fouls, blowout or not.
Wait… Sasha Kaun is alive?
Might be alive but it doesn’t look like he knows whats going on
I stand ciorrected
I wish Love was more jacked.
I blame the Hoopers…
couldn’t you have just said : “I wish Love was stronger”
Nah mayneeee, straight jacked, chiseled.
Love on the Cavs has been very unjacked. I think he’s the only one on the entire roster. Even when his arm was torn off he wasn’t very angry. Good thing he is an immense talent.
It is hard to believe that he ever lifts…I mean Sasha Kahn is more defined than Love…No wonder his arm was so easily dislocated…
Man the Rockets are terrible. No one on that team can shoot except Harden. Cut off the head of that snake and they are DONEZO.
Once they lost Josh Smith, they fell apart… he was their glue… /s
HAHA…. *rimshot*
The Kardashian Curse continues
Bingo!!! That’s why I thought it was a strategic move by the Cavs to basically “shade double” Bob Harder the whole game and let anyone else shoot a 3.
I mean, I saw LBJ literally park it in the paint waiting for Bob H. to drive the ball letting his man go to the corner for a wide open three… Harden passed it to the open man and the guy promptly bricked the 3… maybe was Brewer.
Kevin Love just working on his shot?
Okay Blatt you said everyone was going to play? Get them in!
Wanted to see the Ninja hit that one!
James done and Kyrie should be next
Those announcers on ESPN are clowns. They talk nonsense and on everybody else but who is actually playing in the game.
Agreed, but they’re trying to entertain a national audience in a blowout, not just Cavs and Rockets fans.
Houston stinks!!!!!!!
Anyone else feel that the one-game “homestand” versus the Warriors on Monday is an odd bit of scheduling?
Kyrie is magic…
That one deserved to be king size!
I mean, WHOA! I LOVE it!
I wish Cavs would use this uncanny ability to weave into defenses and completely break them down to initiate more offense. There may be no player in the Association that can stay in front of him; he always gets near the hoop where he can finish or find cutters or spot-up shooters. Better than LeBron Iso in my opinion.
Missed it live, wow.
What it must be like to bring the ball up with three defenders facing you and think it’s a good opportunity to attack.
Blatt once again does the opposite. Play the starters in the fourth quarter of a blowout.
Maybe Blatt saw all of Tom’s posts
Any road win on the second night of a back-to-back is good. Any win on the last game of a 6-game road trip is good. This is a better performance by the Cavs than I expected, and a much worse performance by the Rockets.
Nice to meet you DC
Does seem like it’s time to sit LBJ down…
Can Kyrie get the rest of the night off after that display of wizardry?
Cavs should be well over 100 pts by now…They are missing so many easy/wide open shots…Missed a lot of open shots last night against the Spurs too…The defense has been looking good but they really need to improve on hitting their open shots…
Where you been Shumpy??
Haven’t been around to watch many games this year…
We miss you buddy!
heh…Thanks genius…
I think they deserve a pass for this game, the game that they’re winning by 20 at the moment.
KY-RIZZLE!
Kyrie is just magical!
JVG: I would encourage every child to turn this game off.
Man TT with the unsweet move
Cavs playing Keep Away & getting rebounds
JVG: “I would encourage every child to turn this off.”
That’s one way to use the full 24…
Like…what is Shump doing there? First, why is Lebron throwing it ahead to Shump like he wants to fastbreak when all of the Rockets are back and none of the Cavs are across half court?
Then, Shump, with no other Cavs across the 3 point line, decides to take his man off the dribble and barely avoids turning it over.
DRIBBLE THE BALL DOWN TO 8 and then run one set and get back
They just want to get out of there and go home I think…
Definitely want to end this quickly.
TT bails us out with the shotclock running down.
MR. 4th Quarter stikes again!
GREAT bucket by TT!
Ariza still playing hard for them at least.
Kyrie taking it inside!
