2011-01-19“The rebuilding process is underway, and I’m operating under the belief that we’re halfway through the hardest part. That is my belief, do not convince me otherwise, it took many losses for me to get here, so just let me operate this way.” [Brendan Bowers]
Byron Scott is choosing to make equivocal statements at this point in an attempt to turn this horrid season around. His orders: play defense or sit. One can assume if he stringently enforces this rule, we may see some 2-man lineups in the near future.
Boobie Gibson has finally recovered from his ankle injury and is reportedly ready to go against the Suns tonight.
And another WFNY Cavs Mailbag in which Scott Sargent addresses J.J. Hickson’s ceiling, trade scenarios, and the NBA Draft, also known as the only things Cavs fans can talk about these days without feeling compelled to raid their kitchen drawers for silverware to put into their eyeballs at various angles.

Really good point, Robert. Injuries seem to linger and linger when the team blows.
As far as I know Rick, the draft still gets held. It’s up to the college players to decide if they want to roll the dice on coming out and then having the league go into a lock-out
What if there’s a lockout. The season doesn’t get salvaged till autumn.
What does that do to the draft? Can they even HAVE draft until there’s some sort of CBA?
Is it possible that there will be no draft in 2011?
If so….
does that help us or hurt us? [I assume that draft picks get rolled over. or would they?)

Starting to figure something out about a waaaay losing season like this (which, really, should have been obvious all along): Injuries keep guys out longer when the team sucks. We’re seeing this a lot this season, with Mo especially. Things that guys would play through (and that coaches would demand they play through) on a winning team, tend to put guys out for weeks at a time (see: Mo, Boobie and Parker) and might end up ending one’s season to get a surgery taken care of (though this last one is much more conjecture, as I have no working knowledge… Read more »
Colin,
I gotta tell you man, you’ve done a hell of a job with your updates despite the shittiness that is this season. Keep up the good work while the Cavs sustain the bad.
Can it keep getting worse guys? Will i be struck by lightning if I continue to watch Cavs games? I still have faith things can turn around….but not really lol
