1) I liked the old set up a lot. I get the change but Old school works too. Just look at Drudge Report, it hasn’t changed in 21 years and still kicking ass. This is no judgement on the new set up though. I haven’t even looked at it yet. 2) You guys need to finish your series pieces more. Tom’s Delly piece back in November was excellent and I was looking forward to part 2 and 3. Also I know it was made non pc since Tristan signed in but I really enjoyed the TT piece saying he didn’t… Read more »
I don’t like that my paragraphs all merge into one in the new format
Nice! I had no idea you were Denton.
No /s? /s
Fun podcast guys. Congrats again on the new site.
Carlesimo chimed in today on R&K. Love listening to Carlesimo. He stated how the Cavs 1st tier rebounding is under appreciated . This team dominates on the boards on both sides of the ball and it’s undoubtedly one of their biggest strengths. Although Timo has really struggled, and him playing well could arguably put this team in the GSW-SAS stratosphere, the Cavs have a tremendous set of bigs. When they dominate down low, almost no one stands a chance. Almost.
I’ll have to look up the Aaron Craft vine. I haven’t seen it yet.
MY eye test said turn overs are worse. I was surprised they were not. I knew assists were up. Are you guys including last year’s Blatt’s stats 2014-2015 or just this season?
“The Cavs’ pace is 96.26 under Lue, which is only a tick faster than the 95.05 possessions per 48 minutes they averaged under David Blatt. It hasn’t been much better since the All-Star break – the Cavs still rank in the bottom 10 in pace since the break, but the scoring is up significantly.” Jason Lloyd.
Hey guys- Really liking the new look for the most part! But have a few notes/possible bugs for you all to look into, not to be a party pooper but because I want to improve the site! 1) When I access on my iPhone it shows up at like 1/4 the size of the screen, seems like there might be some overcompensation for small screens going on. 2) If you can make comments on live threads not paginate, it would be extremely helpful…it’s incredibly difficult to follow paginated conversations, I’m not even sure where the conversation starts half the time… Read more »
Whoops, just checked the phone thing and looks like you fixed that one since I last checked, thanks!
I’d love it if you could email me an explanation of the pagination issues.
Just listened, nice job, guys.
Put me in the Glenn Rivers is the most overrated coach in the NBA camp. He’s basically an average coach, but he’s lauded as elite.
Loved Tom’s rant about moronic l33t speak and the like. I’m at least ten years older thab Tom, so I was there at the inception of that crap – it was lame and stupid then, same as now.
Sounds like no Hayward for the Jazz tonight.
Tsk That’s a shame. I’m broken up over it.
I removed all the truehoop stuff. Gone is the big gray block. Also kind of Jacked up the sidebars. Will fix later.
Just read through this Cols livestream. Haven’t had the chance to listen to the podcast yet, unfortunately.
Hey quadrumvirate –
I think the twitter feed box scrolls too fast. Hard to read some of those tweets in time
Aside from that, pretty much totally used to and digging the redesign
I think Nate has a plan for that… thanks for the feedback!
Don’t know if that is fixable. Might just have to go to the end then backwards
The new look is snappy! On my wish list would be an option to stop to twitter feed from scrolling automatically. Like those flashing advertisements on other webpages, sometimes I can’t keep my eyeballs focused on the thread with the motion of the twitter feed off to the side. The other wish I have is a more natural way scroll through the comments. Maybe I’m doing it incorrectly, but if I want to read the comments from start to finish, I have to start at the bottom and go up, but since follow-up comments are beneath original comments, I have… Read more »
Set it to 10 Seconds.
That narrative on Kyrie debates is secretly fueled & generated by Kobe to make him the “lightning rod” of the team. LoL
Lloyd had good stats he reported on efficiency, pace and defense. The Cavs’ offensive rating of 111.4 since the All-Star break is second only to the Toronto Raptors, who refuse to go away. They’re averaging 108 points since the break, a vast improvement over the 101.4 points they averaged under Blatt. 7. Of course, for all the improvements they’re making offensively, they’ve slipped significantly defensively. The goal for the final few weeks of the season needs to be on fixing pick-and-roll coverages and half-court defense. They limited the Clippers to 41 percent shooting Sunday after the Lakers shot 53 percent… Read more »
Good podcast gentlemen. Could’ve done without the Delly gushing and the old man rant, but those are just quibbles.
HeY! Tom finally admits that Delly is a better help defender than on-ball. Only something I’ve been saynkg for years.
I’m comfortable with the current goalposts in the “how valuable is Delly” arguments we have.
Yes. Delly has improved. He sucked last year and the year before. But he got in shape and is now good.
::WHOOOP WHOOOP:: That’s the Ben signal!
I think JR Smith is probably the most underrated player in the NBA today. He’s a top 5 SG.
I think it’s Delly, actually.
Nah. Delly is good and useful, but JR is almost indispensable anymore.
Top 10,but he’s good.
Potent perceptions were fun, but the answers need to be quicker, Listening to Mallory or Nate hedge is painful. Just spit out an answer and move on.
No goldfish for you!!!!!
I know. I suck.
http://cdn.meme.am/instances/63206982.jpg
So would you rather the Cavs be top 3 in offense and middle of the road in defense? Or top 10 in O and top 5 in D (how they looked in the finals)
Top offense for now only because I know they can turn up the defense in the playoffs since they did this last year. So figuring out the offense is more important for now and the defense will be there when they need it.
Final qustion, Can I name top 5 offenses?
I cannot,
OKC, GSW, CLE, SAS, TOR???
EG Wins!
GSW, TOR, CLE, POR, Minn
GSW – CLE – TOR – POR – MIN i believe. In the pod I had CLE and TOR switched but Marc Stein tweeted this today.
https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/709366093698113536
Oooh. I like that stat.
I wish we could put thumbs up on cool stuff like this.
We have the option to have thumbs up buttons. Or thumbs up and thumbs down. I’m not a big fan of thumbs down buttons. I’d rather someone explain their disagreement than click a button.
Totally agree!! Hey I just realized another improvement. I’m not restricted on “too short of a comment to post” I use to have to add something meaningless to a two worded answer just to get it to post.
Likes are always an awesome function for anything IMO
^thumbs up^
Quiz question #4, points off turnovers?
I think it’s better under Lue
AHHHHHHHHHHHH. I suck again./
Man… you are really making up for lost time with the “sucks” today…
Is Lance a reincarnation of Ron Artest?
well he’s not that big and I don’t think he has that kind of ceiling. But he’s been a monster this week
Let me rephrase that better.. Is Lance a reincarnation of Artest’s or Metta World Peace mental state?
No. Metta was crazy
Quiz question #3, better under Lue or Blatt?
I’m going Lue.
And correct
Quiz question #2, Cavs assist:turnover ratio?
I think it’s better under Lue.
And that’s correct.
You’re 1 of 2
Not the Eurogenius?
I think the turnovers are a direct result from Moz not actually having thumbs
Quiz question #1, Is Cavs pace faster?
I’m going with no. But they do get into their offense much quicker and with more fluidity.
And I’m wrong. I really suck
People who want to trade Irving are dumb.
Fans are hearing Evil Genius say “Drunken Wife” at the 14th minute. Lol
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elements_of_Style
Thanks!! lol I just kept laughing when I heard him say what I thought it sounded like.
Strunk and White… but that’s pretty funny!
Interesting stat: LBJ’s is having his third best year in 2PT%. He is at .560, which is better than 2 of 4 years in Miami. Great sign re: his age, athleticism, burst, etc. His lower shooting efficiency is driven purely by his 3’s.
That is interesting.
SAS has the highest point differential.
Irving is great.
Oooh. LeBron passing to LeBron would be awesome. MAKE THIS HAPPEN TECHNOLOGY
Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There goes the beer and gold fish.
I SUCK I SUCK I SUCK I SUCK
LOL we were talking about this bet b4 we started recording.
I only had to get through today and tomorrow and I blew it because LeBron to LeBron.
I’d say you blew it going after Nate’s twitter habits
You were soooooo close too, Cols. Now I’m gonna have to drink the coffee porter all by myself… ;)
http://cdn.pastemagazine.com/www/system/images/photo_albums/nitro-beers/large/left-hand-coffee-porter.jpg?1384968217
Ha oh man. That looks so yummy. Plus I do eat miniwheats for breakfast sometimes.
would an old man request such a thing?
No. You aren’t doomed yet, but be careful. You do not want to be a bitter old guy.
Pklease oplease please stop this old man rant.
Should have skipped this.
Why are we talking about video games? Tom you are sounding like an old man.
Get off my lawn.
Stop this or else you are going to be a bitter old man. Do not go down this path. I’m serious. The Kids are Alright.
Making fun of millenials is really dumb.
i still do not understand twitter. But if it takes away from EG in the gamethreads I’m going to be upset.
Nate, pimping his own tweets is so sad.
I expect our Live Threads to be even more exciting after the redesign.
Yes
That was more because I was actually at the game yesterday (which rarely happens). I was just having issues with my phone adapting to the new layout and it was easier to just post to CavsTheTwitter… Don’t panic!
LeBron has been good from three lately. Let’s not gloss over this.
Lately… as in this roadtrip of three games…
Love is really good in the post as detailed here.
Tom is correct, it’s time to give up on Moz. Moz is dragging everyone down.
Nate “Murderers row of crap”
Funny.
I joined CtB when I realized that everything that was written was wrong. And needed correcting.
lol

Can we officially say the Frye>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> INJURED OLD ANDY
I will say that Frye, since they are actually going to play him, is more valuable than Andy. Remember, though, that it wasn’t really a Frye for Andy swap as JoeyB recapped for us on here.
True. But that’s how the fans see it.
you could say it’s a “potent perception”
I think Frye is better than Andy, even if Andy was playing. I have a good friend who is an insane GSW fan, and incredibly sharp about BBall, and he said Andy has been solid on O but is a disaster on D.
Yep. Andy was terrible on defense even last year before he got injured.
I’d be totally OK with Frye starting at the 5.
Nope. OKC is not a pretender, they are legit.
Disagree with you there. Never thought OKC was a legit threat to any of the contenders. They are very top heavy. They have a bunch of 2 guards that either can’t defend, or can’t shoot. Kanter can’t play defense. They don’t play well together. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got knocked off in the first round.
Maybe, but in the playoffs your bench matters so much less. If Westbrook and Durant go nuts for a series they can dispatch of GSW.
Also, WAITERS
Hell no. They will get swept by the Warriors in the playoffs. They are not a very smart team IMO. And adding Waiters proves my point even more.
Their bench might be worse than the Clippers somehow.
Nate is correct, Jeff Green is not good.
Jeff Green has been awful.
Rivers isn’t a bad coach. He’s good enough, but below the Spoelstra, Carlisle, Popovich triumverate.
What do you expect Ty Lue to say? Of course he’s going to praise Doc. I don’t think Doc is a great coach, but he was a great coach in 2008.
And yes, Mallory is correct. NO NONONONONO Tom said Mike Brown. NONONONONONO Mike Brown is not a good anything.
Listening at 1.4 speed is the way to go.
I think the GSW are the worst in the league about complaining about fouls.
I fast forwarded just to hear the vine stuff, becasue I couldn’t figure out why anyone would have watched taht.
What vine? Oh, that was Aaron Craft! That’s why you wanted me to watch that? What a garbage player. Tom is totally trolling me with this Aaron Craft stuff.
Guilty as charged.
He’s an Ohio boy!! Have too!
LeBron is shooting pretty well from three since the break.
He’s shooting pretty well from three on the roadtrip… but that’s about as far as you can take it…
This seems like a good Cols podcast.
It’s probably the most Cols friendly pod in some time…
Looking forward to this nice, long pod on a rainy Monday at work. But before listening, I’m just having fun looking at the table of contents and imagining how “getting millennial” leads into a Tom old-angry-man video game rant that I’m being advised to skip. LOL.
PS – congrats on the new site, it’s very clean and organized. Seriously though, I’m gonna miss the visits here invoking memories of Geocities pages from Ye Olde Internets!
We really need to stop starting Mozgov. He’s the main reason we are down at the beginning of evert game. Actually, maybe we should just stop playing any Russian centers unless we are up by 20.
I have a hard time seeing the Cavs keeping Mozgov after this season. I hope he can turn it around but the Cavs just look discombobulated with Moz
Agreed. I don’t think Moz is on this team next year.
Well, he’s certainly not getting paid… I could see him sticking around at a bargain, but some team will be foolish enough to give him a payday…
Love the new site. Just wanted you all to know that.
Thanks Cols!
High praise!
