InstaPod + Important CtB PSA

Great win! I’m looking forward to Cory’s recap. I wanted to share my game reactions with EvilGenius so we decided to record it. Additionally, we’d like to find another high quality writer to join our team. If you are interested, submit a sample recap to our staff. It can be a recap of this game or a recap of Hickory High defeating South Bend. Email me: thomas.pestak@gmail.com and I’ll pass your samples around to our editorial staff (Nate, Robert, EG) to see if you have “The Right Stuff”. You can send in any format you’d like: a word document, a pdf, a scanned polaroid of a Lite Brite storyboard, your voice overlayed with Gregorian Chant. Whatever floats your boat.
Our expectations are that this new writer will pen at least one recap a week and be involved in 5 on 5s and possibly podcasts. Additionally, we are trying to have more weekly specials – so if you have ideas for content you’d like to pitch that you’d be willing to submit on a weekly basis – even better. (pad your stats!)
As mentioned in the end of the podcast, I also want to solicit community feedback for new content ideas. With the new layout I think we have room to spread our wings a bit. Let us know what you’d most or least like to see.
All the best from us at Cavs:TheBlog.
GO CAVS!
“CUS HE JUST GOT DUNKED ON”
The post-game call-in show is the best idea. This is a selfish vote on my behalf, since it’s getting on towards my morning coffee break here in the land of Down Under when the night games finish – caffeinated and ready to pow-wow here, but having lived in The Land I know how the tired I was at the end of a game (particularly if there OT)… My suggestion of the live game CtB commentary: I know how many technical challenges there would be before this could work, but I did enjoy listening to the instant reactions from you guys… Read more »
call in show is a superb idea
As long as it doesn’t become a Cols-in show… ;)
I would be a tremendous host.
Thanks for the shoutout guys. The next pod will be lit. (that means great Tom)
Irving was fantastic in this game.
Nice to have a podcast I can actually get through on my commute!
On the subject of slow starts, the issue with having a bunch of scorers is that the team wants to ‘get everyone going’ and so they spread the ball around, and everyone misses their first shot, so you get this built-in 0-5 early in the first.
I like the idea of the call-in show. Maybe doable with Google Hangouts.
Great pod guys. I don’t have the exact stats but it seems like the Delly/LeBron PnR is getting a thousand points per possession. Ya know, give or take. Seriously though, I think Delly is the best point guard LeBron has ever played with. LeBron finally feels comfortable playing as the roll man because he trusts that Delly will make the right play. There was one play that LeBron jumped for the alley-oop and Delly didn’t lob it. Delly saw the collapse and kicked it out to Frye for a ridiculously wide open three. Every three is wide open when LeBron… Read more »
Delly really is amazing on the pick and roll. He’s made some beautiful passes to LBJ as the roller the last few weeks.
Delly’s 9 assists in 22 mins says it all. It’s really almost incredible how much Delly has improved in a year. I remember early last year teams would trap him leading to some turnovers, and he wasn’t confident with the ball. Now Delly indeed is the best pure point guard that LeBron has played with and his trust level in Delly is high. Unlike Moz, he has quite a pay raise coming……hopefully from the Cavs.
The help defender on LeBron as the roll man is in such trouble, because if you back off, LeBron takes the pocket pass and beats you with his ability to score off either side or front of the rim, but if you come out and challenge then he blows by you and for the alley-oop. The speed of that alley-oop on the highlight is just amazing, LBJ just goes from the foul line to the rim in the blink of a eye.
Calvin Johnson playing basketball!
Thanks, Ben! We wanted to keep it from being “long in the tooth” so I never did get time to try and sell Tom some cookie dough…
Thanks guys. Have you heard some of the insane Stanley Johnson comments about Lebron? I mean, go ahead and talk if you’re shutting him down, but he’s not exactly done that. LBJ might make it a point to drop 40 on him next game…
Eh. I like that Johnson isn’t backing down. The kid is already a physical specimen. He is one of the few human beings who can match up with LeBron at all let alone at 19. I hope LeBron just keeps playing the way he has. It is a win for the Pistons if LeBron tries to attack any one guy personally. The King has killed the collective team thus far. That is plenty good for me.
Still… it’s kind of ignorant to poke the bear… especially since the bear went 6-6 with Stanley “guarding” him in the second half…
I guess that is kind of my point. He already went 6-6 without poking the bear. Maybe poking him just throws him off.
